CHARLS IS SO BASED AND REDPILLED. Baked in lighting is absolutely superior to raytrace unreal engine plastic looking soy fugly garbage! Halo 3 was peak graphics in many ways in 2007 and it was beautifully done baked in lighting. Theyve never been able to make a halo game look better since. Reach came close in 2010 and evolved in some ways, but the qualify has gone down and was never able to return. They sacrifice so much for these 'dynamic light sources' even if the game looks like total crap in comparison to their older predecessors. And the comment about qualitative descriptions being a nondescript psychic transfer. Common esoteric Charls W!

The colors, the lighting techniques and the visual tricks to achieve things. I think the textures were state of the art at the time. Actually they were ahead of their time, except for the facial models. But i think the solid engineering and supreme art direcrion carried the look of the game super hard even to this day.

It became clear that the disparity between the happiness of moderately and extravagantly successful people had grown too wide for elite status to mean anything anymore. Even our poor enjoy luxuries that a medieval king couldn't have even dreamed of. Well it seems like they caught on that we've had it too good for too long and now it's time to widen the gulf. Nobody's going to show up at your house with a gun and tell you "you can't because we said so" they'll just inflate your dollar until they can say "you can't because market conditions make it impossible." So for why browsers are so slow is because of lack of limitations. Back when hardware was extremely limiting it forced devs to get really creative (enough to fit doom on a calculator). Whenever hardware got powerful, there was no need to write code efficiently, like if you need a calandar there’s no reason to code it anymore you can just import someone’s else code that is full of bells and whistles you don’t need, and isn’t written very efficiently. So you end up with a ton of bloat that really isn’t noticed until it is. Then it is too late to fix it all. On the point of hardware not improving, it actually is at a pretty crazy rate, but it has surpassed everything you view and interact with so u can’t see the difference. Good hardware can easily stream 4k, and above that your eyes can’t tell a difference. Games don’t run well because they are coded like garbage (reason above plus cheap devs who can’t code) so they slow down even the best of the best. But games that are coded decently, like flight simulators can be run easily. So we are waiting for graphics to catch up to hardware, but graphics are quickly reaching the point of not being able to be improved much. So from a consumer perspective we are kinda close to reaching the peak where a normal computer runs everything you could want

Graphics quality and media size increase and scales alongside bandwidth demand/availability. A 1440p 60fps KZbin video loads at more or less the same speed as a 480p one did in 2008 because higher quality = higher source file size = more bandwidth needed for transfer.
