Just graduated with this last class and can confirm everything being said. I can also say this channel definitely helped me prepare mentally for the course. It helped to level my expectations and put me in the right mindset before going. Would recommend for anyone looking to attend!!

I know this video is about ranger school, but I've watched your video about pathfinder school like 6 times before I went to pathfinder, and I just graduated!!!!! It helped alot! I'm a E4 who needed a GT waiver to get in and passed on my first attempt! Thanks for all the awsome vids!!!!!!

Wait, you can get a waiver for that?!?

@@FrauWilhelmKlink yes, you can get a GT waiver if your GT is between 100-109. If your GT is 110 or above you don't need a GT waiver. You can also get a MOS waiver but I didn't need one

Ranger School, being rotated through different positions, accomplishing specific tasks/ missions while being in any weather,starving, no sleep along with standing in front of an oak tree trying to put an imaginary quarter in it to get a candy bar at 2am , then trying to explain it to a fresh well fed and dry RI. 1983, 1/75

I went to Infantry OSUT in 1991. In 2014 I was in the Air National Guard at a natural disaster. An army chaplain was sleeping in the same room as me. Saw his Ranger Tab. Just so happens we were in the same OSUT Company. Love my chaplains!

I have no interest in attending Ranger School, but I definitely consider it a leadership course. Several years ago, in the board. AARs, they repeatedly listen Ranger and Airborne schools as leadership schools, as of they were both on the same tier. I know that isn't the case, but it was interesting to see board members making the comparison.

To make sure I'm reflecting correctly on some points made in this video: Ranger School is a leadership school in terms of providing potential situations or experiences that encourages leadership, but does not directly teach leadership. In other words, leadership is to a greater extent based on your own development or what you contribute as a result of those experiences, not what you claim to have learned about leadership directly?

when I went to Ranger school, in 74, the Army was expanding the Ranger Battalions by 2, and my class had the first batch of enlisted volunteers to go through airborne and Ranger school to fill out the new Ranger Battalions. Right from the start the 'kids' had the physical stuff down, but when it came to the patrols and leadership position, they failed. I felt sorry for them. I, with my Ranger buddy (one of the kids) made it through, graduated in April 1974, We started the class with over 300 and just finished with 67. I personally think the Army let these kids down, thinking that the course was more physical than leadership, they were wrong. Also, we had a few South Vietnamese LTs, graduate with us, I really wonder what happened to them.
