Chinese restaurant was my first job, after delivering newspapers, in the late 2000s. They were really nice. Hard working people from china. The owners were husband and wife amd they had the same name. Ying Mar. One was mr. Mar and lady owner was ying.

Business ownership is a religion to many Chinese. It comes from when they helped build the railroads. After the railroads had been built to the west coast, they had no jobs, and no one would hire them. The two most popular businesses for them to open were restaurants and laundry services and it continues to this day.

The pro tip on the bag is actually a good idea. It dirtys up an extra pan but it makes it better. The sauce gets thicker and sticks to the chicken better

I’m allergic to gluten and Realgood nuggets and strips are a God sent, they are even cheaper at Costco. A good second place is the Tyson blackened chicken strips 🤤 I like to make them and throw them in dinners like Alfredo and gf noodles or jambalaya. I have a cheap and easy “risotto “ recipe where you cook 1.5 cups rice in chicken stock, add half a cup of Alfredo sauce when it’s done and season with Cajun seasoning to taste. Italians would cry but it’s so good with these chicken strips and the Tyson blacked chicken too

That risotto recipe sounds delish! Beauty about risotto is that you can make it any which way you want. I’ve made risotto a few times myself, and it’s always gone well with a blackened tilapia. I tend to make it with a Yellow Tail Chardonnay and I use blackening and grate Parmesan from a wedge.

Back in the early 2010’s, I used to eat InnovAsian General Tso’s chicken and I loved it despite the chicken being a four-meat slurry concoction. I see that the Realgood General Tso’s chicken is a lot healthier than the chicken from InnovAsian

The very best General Tso's chicken I've ever had was in Saint Louis, Missouri. They seasoned their General's chicken with lots of ginger and WOW... I really could go for some of that General's chicken right now...I'm near Phoenix, Arizona so that Chinese restaurant is sort of out of reach for me at this time.

I ordered a bag of this after I seen your video and today just tried it and damn it was pretty good probably one of the best ones I have had store bought. I love that it's low carb and low calorie, and it tastes good 👍😊. You were right about the slightly vinegary taste, I adjusted it just a tiny bit when I did the pan frying part I added a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes and about 3/4 of a teaspoon of brown sugar to the sauce as it was heating up and it made it perfect. The only other thing I had to do was cook it in the oven a bit longer, but that could be my oven. It said 15-17 minutes, I started at 16 then added another 5 and then an additional 3 minutes totalling 24 minutes at 400 degrees. But again I have an older oven and the temperature maybe off. But with the pinch of crushed red pepper flakes and brown sugar it was a delicious dinner. With about a cup of rice, Viola yummy General Taos Chicken at home. 👍👍👍 Putting it on my next grocery list for sure 😁😁😁

Just as a PSA: Be careful when buying some of these bags of RealGood nuggets: I've had up to 6-8 bags come with a very funny, pungent smell to the chicken, as if they were unthawed and refroze upon arrival to the store. I've contacted RealGood about the issue but only got coupons in return- and with my anecdote, I've seen others online post about this as well (Facebook and Reddit). You can theoretically still eat the nuggets, but you have to overcook them to make the smell less pungent, but it comes at the cost of the actual nuggets taste. From what I've seen, it happens to both the Nuggets and Tenders. I've experienced it more with the Tenders, but I take it's a manufacturing problem or shipping issue where the bags were not kept at a cold enough temperature, but this was a problem for multiple stores and not just my own, so I can't speak to what's actually happening- just be weary of what you buy! Otherwise, I've pretty much only bought these nuggets for a high protein "diet" and they've been fantastic.
@sbodolus
@sbodolus 7 ай бұрын
I don't blame the manufacturer, I think they probably thaw before they get stocked in the freezers at the store.
@Lord_Burrito
@Lord_Burrito 7 ай бұрын
@@sbodolus Depends on how they're shipped- if RealGood outsources their shipping to a 3rd party company, it'd be on said company to keep their trucks cold enough. If RG ships it, then it's definitely on RG to keep their food cold enough. Once it reaches the grocery store, it's on the store- hoping it's not an issue with them.

I've been following you for years. You're the first reviewer I've come across as fair. $7.00 for chicken?! No way. A lb of ground beef is $3.50-4.00 but $7.00 is way out of budget. I'm sure I could make my own but this does look good. Even if I had it in my budget I couldn't, due to principle. Thanks for the review.

Two thoughts. At first you might think its overpriced but two bags for 13 and change is very comparable to take out pricing. Secondly, does anyone else think skillet finishing might reduce the vinegar flavor while enhancing the sweetness? Just my thoughts

From watching many videos from TheWolfePit.. The moral of the story is: If you can't make the food haflway decent at the price you want to sell it for, then DON'T. eh hem that Ledbetter "filet" If you can't afford a filet, and I guess you just don't get one.. Companies should not try to bastardize a product together to fill a gap in the market, that the market never admitted exists in the first place.
