Locality introduction and neighbourhood
Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park is one of the most significant employment centres in Pune, situated in the locality of Hinjewadi. The Infotech Park is spread across Hinjewadi Phase 1, 2 & 3 and consists of several business parks and corporate campuses having offices of major IT/ITeS entities, along with some automotive and biotechnology companies. It is placed towards the north-west periphery of the city, almost 19 km from the city centre. Apart from being a renowned job hub, the area adjoining the Infotech Park also hosts multiple residential complexes comprising a mix of under-construction and completed projects. These include Kolte Patil Life Republic, Paranjape Blue Ridge, Xrbia Hinjewadi Township, Godrej 24, etc.
Physical infrastructure
Mumbai Highway (NH-48) is a key road which acts as a bypass and provides quick connectivity. Phase 1, 2 & 3 Road and Hinjewadi-Aundh Road, offers good connectivity within the locality. Moreover, the buses run by Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) is an effective medium of public transportation in the city. Pune Junction Railway Station (20 km) and Pune International Airport (26 km) are reachable in about an hour. Besides, the planned 23.3 km long metro Line 3 (Hinjewadi Phase III - Civil Court) would improve connectivity in the area and is likely to be completed by March 2023.

Key educational institutions and hospitals in the near vicinity comprise Mahindra International School, VIBGYOR High School, Blue Ridge Public School, International Institute of Information Technology, Ruby Hall Clinic and Lifepoint Multispecialty Hospital. Various residential projects have their own shopping complexes. Key retail spaces include Xion Mall, Fountain Market, Vision One Mall and DMart.

I stay at Phase2, the companies which left Hinjawadi are mostly auto ancillary and warehouses and Small fabrication units. The land where I purchased house belonged to TATA auto and same thing is true about Kohinoor central Park land, that too belonged to Tata autocomp. Also pay attention that Microsoft purchased 32 acre land for 1000cr, that's the testament to potential of this area. Apart from that, new companies starting their offices are Global SEZ IT Park, Hexaware expansion, Aurus tech in P-3, Eon west IT park, world trade centre at Tathawade, dassault, Axtriain Phase-1. Kratos at Laxmi chowk.

in Phase 3 the hills and environment are being destroyed . we cant expect villages in Phase 1 and 2 to disappear. roads cant be increased any more. Metro stations themselves will be choke points. Allowing 4 lakh jobs and their families in one area is ecological time bomb. Groundwater is already low level. See what happened to bengaluru environment. Metro does not solve last mile traffic issues. 1000s of people coming every hour on each station need to reach their office building and home. (See what happened in NOIDA - there at least land area was never an issue. With broad roads and endless land the metro stations create choke points and mini transports walas crate traffic nuisance.

I think metro work is too slow. In UP UPMRC has done extensively great work. Agra Metro was created in 2 yrs. I think Maha Metro should increase its speed of work completion.

Hinjewadi to Mahalunge road is very nice. Sir but hum gaye the 2 week pehle koi kaam nahi chal raha Mercedes to Mahalunge Road. last 3 years se hum sun rhe hai ki road banega but kuch nahi ho raha kaam :(

Keeping current condition of hinjewadi's bottle neck i.e.Phase 1 Shivaji chowk & encroachment, companies will be forced to leave. Government should throw the grampanchayat out and bring the entire area under PCMC. Otherwise nothing gonna change.
