I wish we could get back to the college aesthetic and not just be a platform for VR UGC. VRChat already does everything better with more customization because they actually give the tools to do so it just feels bad here like it's sanitized. RR should capitalize on what makes it great- the RROs and the whole theme of the "game" but they have their eyes on it just being roblox of VR so they can profit off kids just learning to code /:

Unfortunately, saying that a game need "saving" tends to stir up hatred 😭 I didn't wanna touch on it too much because it's a little unrelated to the video, but I found that saverecroom was a poor idea because of its phrasing. Implying that the negative parts of rec room need to be redeemed Is not how you do it, you know? You have to instead realize the positives and express the fact that there is room for more good things. When COVID happened the game was still taking itself as a small F2P but really they were gaining thousands of players daily especially with the quest 2 coming on the scene. I don’t believe it’s the size of the community that makes the biggest difference but the developers, with the golden age brought upon by the lockdown the community grew exponentially and yet the community still felt primarily close and cozy. What I believe is that during the lockdown “golden age” the devs were still nurturing of the community.(releasing weeklys, hosting competitions, streaming games, and publishing tutorials.) the scale of the community didn’t matter but the relationship between the players and the devs, so long as the players felt like the devs were making good changes such as fixing old content or improving creator tools the community was all fine and peaceful. Whats happening now is the devs are talking the game and trying to capitalize on its successes such as seeking sponsor deals, external creator partnerships, partnerships with other games (rawdata doesn’t count), and even jacking their own prices. What I believe the board at AG failed to comprehend is the games whole success was from the devs being so supportive of the community, this failure to understand has led to the company to use its community and try and cash in on the popularity. This system of draining what the game has for profit keeps effecting the community negatively and won’t be sustainable, if something isn’t done soon recroom as we know it won’t be the community driven hangout safespace we knew and loved but a husk of its former existence, a second Roblox or vrchat if you will. If AG/the devs want to fix this they should start asking for and listening to the community again just how they operated in their “golden age”. Anywho that’s just my opinion.

I love this game so much dawg, feels great to see people who truly care for it too. When we care for something, we FIGHT for something, and I'm not giving up on this anytime soon.

Damn the editing in this video definitely has a lot of improvements compared to your other (still good) videos from the background music being so perfectly in the background that I just though that it was apart of the recording itself. Your story telling and transitions have improved a lot as well. Now the camera work is just something else. as a little side note I'm trying my best to sound genuine and like I'm telling the truth so bear with me, anyways back to the camera work WOW just wow it is really a work of art the VO fits so perfectly over the clip. Going over each newly released RRO is just immaculate. Now, I get not wanting to hurt Rec Room or whatever. But if you look at other game protests (like Helldivers or Tf2) they only worked with intense practices. What people don’t seem to be getting right now is that Rec Room is no longer a small company that listens to us. The Discord Devs are probably less than 5% of the entire development team. Rec Room is a multi-million dollar company, and the group of players who actually want to save Rec Room is less than ten thousand people. (Which isn’t even 1% of the player base) So… yeah. Pessimistic, I know, but it’s a harsh truth.
