I think having one or multiple comfort movies is healthy, they can help you escape from reality, which can be helpful if you're feeling stressed or anxious. Your channel is great btw! I hope you'll get big in the future! :)

On the contrary, I feel like on some level you don't truly get a movie until you have done at least one rewatch. I find with myself at least, how I feel about a movie can swing drastically over time, but it often swings the most on a first rewatch. I'm not saying to finish it and turn it on again, I mean watching it, appreciating it, giving it some time and distance, and then rewatching it once. Doing that with fresh eyes often gives you such a deeper perspective. It's helped me to acknowledge "flaws" in movies I otherwise initially loved, or to appreciate something that I might have just not been in the right headspace for the first time. The funny thing is even though I believe this, I also don't find myself rewatching movies enough. It's like you said, there's always something new around the corner that feels more exciting--even if it's a black and white Norwegian film from the 1920's.

couldn’t agree more !! i think this point applies well to rewatching movies you loved a few years ago or even as a child, and then revisiting it a little later in life - it makes it fun and interesting i also don’t rewatch movies enough - it makes me feel guilty, i hate it. really appreciate your comment, your points are perfect - thank you 🙌🏻

I love that your gf has a big movie collection 💖 I know a few people who think it’s odd to collect dvds when everything is so digital these days so it’s refreshing to see someone else who has a collection. I’m in the process of moving so all my dvds are packed up currently but I managed to fit them all into 3 big boxes 😅 I can instantly think of one movie I rewatch every year on Halloween and that’s Trick r Treat. It’s somehow become a tradition for me. If I ever need a feel good movie I’ll usually rewatch When Marnie Was There or Spirited Away. I love rewatching stuff ☺️ these days it’s strangely easier for me to rewatch something rather than watch something new 🤷♀️ even though Barbie is on my list of things to watch I still haven’t gotten to it but I’m randomly rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood currently which is way longer than a movie 😂

ah that’s so cool - 3 big boxes of dvds !!! i’m so jealous , i’m debating starting a collection but i’m so scared of the cost 😂😂 i love trick r treat, such a solid movie in every single way and enjoy the move, as stressful as it may be !!

@@PavelTalks thank you ☺️ idk what second hand shops are like over where you are but I’m available to find tons of dvds at thrift stores and pawn shops here and they usually only sell them for $1-$3 and the dvds are usually in good condition so that’s probably where a good chunk of my collection has come from. I’m sure it would be pricey if I would’ve bought every one brand new from the store 🙃

I actually was in a charity shop this week and they were selling 40!! dvds for 1 euro!!! that's insane , they must have too many dvds lol I asked this to somebody else, but, your input would be super useful too, if you don't mind haha: let me ask you actually- what’s your opinion on these video essay type of videos ? which do you prefer and why? please be honest, i’m having an online identity crisis it seems 😂 but be honest!!

@@PavelTalks I like the different types of videos you put out, wether that be video essays or movie reviews or even that vlog 🤷♀️ I found you through that video you did comparing terrifier to that other horror movie and have stuck around since. I think you should just do videos you feel in the mood to make and not think about it too hard. Sorry if my answer isn’t too helpful 😅

Just last night i watched Interstellar in cinemas. I'd seen the film ages ago but seeing it in the cinema for the first time was one hell of an experience.

I remember rewatching movies as a kid was the coolest thing in the world! Specially since there weren't that many options before streaming was a thing LOL Having said that, I feel bad many kids today won't be having a physical copy to cherish, and the moment streaming platforms decide to get rid of content, it's gone for good. How will they bring back memories later on... I've no idea. Funny how as an adult I have my comfort movies I love to rewatch, and some serious ones I rewatch periodically, but then with really grand master pieces, I never go back, which is weird. Like "Casablanca" (1942), it moved me to the point of feeling like I was there and made me want to stand and sing the... [I'm so not spoiling it]; but I haven't watched it again. Wonder why that is. 🤔 In other topics, how are you? How's your voice these days? Hope you've been feeling better! 🤞 Have a lovely week as always!! Cheers!

i agree , it’s a strange one, but i hope i re watch more. maybe as i grow older i’ll rewatch more and currently im spending my time finding new stuff, im not sure - it keeps me up at night 😂😂 my voice currently is not good, its gone, i have no idea how or why, but my throat is so sore even though ive not been sick for a week, the joys 😂😂 ill be fine though let me ask you actually- what’s your opinion on these video essay type of videos ? which do you prefer and why? please be honest, i’m having an online identity crisis it seems 😂 but be honest!! thanks as always 🫶🏻🫶🏻

@@PavelTalks 😆 Life's short, watch or rewatch whatever makes you happy lol 😜 Oh no! Your voice! You know, salty water gargles help ease the throat. Just one teaspoon of salt in a glass of water, try it twice a day. 🤔 If you're working out, make sure your air way stays open, instead of tightening it as you lift or whatever exercise you do. Learnt that from a voice doctor 😊 I like the video essays! It feels like a podcast. I'm not sure I have a favourite format, I like the chaotic games, the multiple reviews per video, the bad movies reviews lol, and the vlogs. The more diverse content you create, the more your personality shows. So, I don't think you have to stick to one particular format. You can have fun trying different things 😁 PS: 🙈 sorry for typing so much 🙈

sorry for the late reply, my week has been so hectic ! im feeling better as of now! i recorded earlier and i sounded better anyway - thats interested, I do workout 5 days a week so thats good to know, I have such a bad habit of holding my breath whilst exercising - so that's not good lol thanks for the advice too, it's good to know you think that - it's confusing trying to figure out what I want to do with the channel; don't say sorry for typing a lot, I like it!!

@@PavelTalks Oh don't worry about it! I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better! And wow! Five days a week, and then all the movies you watch, plus recording a video every week?! That's soooo cool! Gotta go plan a better way to manage my time 😂 I'm sure you'll find what you like the most about content creation; I bet taking into account how long it takes to edit different kinds of videos will also play a role! LOL Looking forward to watching your next video! Cheers!!

Absolutely not. Sometimes rewatching a film that you haven’t seen in years can actually be more rewarding than the first go around, if only to apply a greater knowledge. As a teenager, I watched several Tarantino films and while I loved them at the time, I grew a whole appreciation for some of them after learning more about film history and the films that inspired him. On top of that, sometimes it’s just fun to go back or to something or because you know it works. Like, I can’t tell how many times I’ve watched the Indiana Jones movies for example.
