My very first ship that I pledged for back in 2013 was The Aurora LN. I've since spent real money and purchased a Ghost, a Sabre, a Cutlass Black, a ROC mining vehicle, a Pices, a Mercury Star Cruiser, a Vanguard Sentinel, and finally A Corsair.

I bought Aurora in 2012 and upgraided 2016 to Mustang and 2024 to C8x but all the salvage money making happened around Grim Hex so Vulture was fast coming by stealing those Hammerheads but when i landed Orison and went to the Crusader Showroom 😍 i fell in love with Mercury. Saved up some money and bought it with all the bells and whistles. It has tank as big as 3 runs across the universe and Can fit 2 crates of 32s (unlocked ofc). The secret tunnels in the ship and wierd ghostly server whining when you lie down to sleep. Its like the ship lives. And it is now my daily and ofc i end up buying all the Crusader ships, cause they are the most beautiful ships 😁 even thinkin to pledge C1 now. All the Crusader ships have huge fuel tanks a big plus, where you can be out there as long as you like.

When it comes to mining, I run a low EM-IR prospector and it is pretty nice. MSR tho in terms of multi roles - Fighting, Team Play, Good Speed - Handling, Trade, Smuggling, Data Running and potential future enhanced sensor range. It is very hard to beat!

I'm not sure if you aware, when your pinging and looking for rocks the type & amount of rocks in a pile can be determined by the RS Signature. The gems mined with a ROC are all in intervals of 620. The large rocks mined with a prospector have a RS Signature of 1700. There are also a set of signatures for salvage items as well. So if you find a group of Gems to mine with a signature of 4960 it will be a cluster of 8 gems. Hope someone finds this helpful.

Thank you so much for these videos. I'm new to the SC, learning the game by watching the videos. I'm interested on mining with ROC or ROC-DS as a beginner to get enough in game currency and then maybe do something else.

Welcome to the Verse! Glad you are finding these videos helpful! I would definitely star with the regular ROC first until you get the hand of things. Usually the best step after ROC mining is mining with the prospector. That where you’ll start bagging tons of in game currency. I’ll be covering that soon 🙌🏽

If you're going to go through the trouble of making the prospector video, since you're well versed in the ROC - I'd be interested in a cost breakdown. The cost to own/operate the prospector vs adding a roc or ds to your fleet (with consideration for if you already have a ship to transport it or not) currently I do the same combo - msr and roc. I liked using the nomad too, I melted the nomad for a cutty, roc fits in there too, but in that case I spend a LOT more time loading/unloading for a "quick" mineral run.

Love my MSR, also it will fit two ROCs for those oops moments! Low point is that she burns Hydro bad so cuts into profits some. Great ship and my main. FYI if Pledge it you can name her too :)

As a daily driver i love me my MSR and its my Favourite Ship. But i still buy the Valk ingame for ROC mining mainly because the way from Cockpit to ROC is just so much quicker, getting the ROC in and out is a bit more convienient especially when you have multiple ROCS, and in VTOL its a bit smother to fly in Atmo. Also prefer the Nomad for ROC mining just for ease of getting in and out. The 15 million doors in the MSR are just killing me when i am ROC mining

The Cutter is an amazing starter ship! I started with the Avenger but if they would’ve had the Cutter out when I started I would’ve def picked that one 🙌🏽

Also, if you are interested in buying the cutlass, or anything else, I'd suggest buying a cutter scout with the iae. You can upgrade it to a cutlass, it won't cost you any extra money, AND you'll have a cutlass with 10 year insurance.

Right......So Is that how the ROC is now? slow driving? did my head in today! then when I got to hadenite the mining laser wouldent come on I had to set the power on in items, and them I couldent throttle the power with the mouse wheel.?

Would you recommend the MSR over the Nomad for solo ROC mining? I would love to see a comparison video between these two. I love the Nomad because of its small footprint and easy to get in/out of the ship. I love the MSR because I can carry more items and in case I get attacked.. Thanks for the vids!

The MSR hands down! It’s an all rounder with more cargo, more weapon fire, and the soon to be data running gameplay loop 🙌🏽 and you are welcome! Doing comparisons has been in my mind lately so soon. Thanks for the suggestion!

Try the Cutlass Black instead of the Nomad, it's cheap to rent or buy in-game and if you upgrade your package it's worth it

I can't fly the MSR anymore. Weak shields, low pilot DPS, can't fit 32 SCU boxes, only one entrance and exist and constantly buggy. On top of all that, flying it just reminds me of the fact that it's been missing it's primary gameplay for close to 4 years now. Data running is all but forgotten by CIG. It's not even talked about anymore. Yet they still use the MSR on their posters, trailers and such.

As nice as a ship this is, my daily is still the raft. For me some of these ships feel to polished and not lived in. That's why I'm an Argo boy
