I've incorporated running, rowing, and weightlifting into my weekly routine, along with three Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sessions each week. Returning to BJJ at 47 has been a challenging yet rewarding experience. While I was in good shape from weightlifting, I quickly realized that rolling on the mats requires a different level of fitness. It has been a humbling journey, but I'm committed to improving my conditioning and technique.

That's honestly lovely to hear. I'm an ex-weightlifter and after a decade of powerlifting and oly lifting, I decided to move to BJJ cause as I grow older, I wanna focus more on athleticism and endurance rather than pure raw strength!

Excellent video! I’m binging so much of your content whilst working on healing a knee injury. I really look forward to getting back to bjj. Thank you Kieren!

Yep, got a bike just for that. Im 6.2 tall, 220 lbs. Running is cool, but it put a lot of stress on my body, moved to a bike 15km a day 2-3-4 times a week, my cardio is much better now. And the best part is no knee pain.

I did cross country one year in high school to help my cardio in wrestling. My coach coached both sports. I was a terrible long distance runner. My coached waited till the last meet to ask me “did you do this to help you with wrestling?” I said yes he said “you know there’s a difference between running endurance and wrestling endurance right?”

@@backrankspank4996 It could, however, if you stick with it you'll be building up your muscle endurance capacity as well as your cardio. I recommend mixing it up and trying different cardio modalities
