In the last three months of stalemate too many Republicans have seen they can turn completely against the war so not only did Ukraine lose momentum it may have lost the war and now NATO will have to fight on NATO soil. The first responsibility remains with Biden who chose to encourage an invasion to destroy America.

It may seem that Russia is winning due to its superior military strength. However, the situation is more complex. The international support for Ukraine has been crucial in preventing its downfall, turning what was expected to be a brief conflict into a prolonged war lasting years. This, in itself, is a testament to the resilience and determination of Ukraine. Moreover, maintaining a war in foreign territory is extremely costly. The financial, material, and human resources required to sustain this campaign are immense and, over time, become unsustainable. History has shown us examples of this, such as the U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam, where resource exhaustion and international pressure forced an end to the intervention. Therefore, while Russia is still fighting, the true victory appears to be leaning in favor of Ukraine, which has resisted and persevered with international support, proving that willpower and solidarity can overcome sheer brute force.
@marycroto10553 ай бұрын
@@mateus7132-l5o i would have to disagree because true support for Ukraine is diminishing turkey stopped supply weapons, US delayed shipments, Hungary blocked billions of dollars of aid. With the war in Gaza exposed a lot of dirt that current eu members are becoming neutral. Entire eu economics are collapsing and US is slowly showing growth but due to the defense manufacturing company making billions of dollars from military aid it sells to war torn countries. Russia defeat is very unlikely that’s because logistics. West supply weapons across the world is the difference. It’s why Russia able gain a lot of grounds in Ukraine. Cause Russia is sending re supply from its back yard. There’s no doubt international support is swiftly change away from Ukraine the US knows this. 1st time I heard a high level Western official admitted Russian Moral is high. The key of this, beside it is winning, is Russian People agree with Putin NATO expansion is targeted and a threat to Russia. This is a Classic Army Race scenario: the move considering as defensive on one side is treated as offensive on the other AND the resulting Defensive reaction to That Action on the other side is considered as Offensive on the 1st party. And they are all expecting the other side to recognize the Dangerous Reality to change, but no change needed from their own side since they are purely defensive.

Russia is clearly in the wrong in invading Ukraine. However, I would also say that playing a game of bluff with the largest nuclear armed neighbor was a dangerous and reckless action to begin with. It would have been much wiser for Ukraine to stay neutral and survive even if it is very unfair to them. Unfortunately, that's the unpleasant reality of living next to a superpower. If you don't believe me go ahead and ask the Cubans as to what happened to them. It's so heartbreaking to finally learn that all of this loss of human life and the utter destruction could have been avoided. If only there were politicians who were willing to compromise. I really blame the elites in Ukraine for being so naive in thinking they could rely on third party support, no matter how convincing the pledge was, to engage in a destructive war and hope to prevail. Not to mention the fact they don't produce any weapons that match Russia's firepower.

Ivo H. Daalder is pretty much a neo-conservative ideologue. The US is so invested in NATO expansion that Ukraine is being outsourced to do the fighting against Russia. Unfortunately for the US however, the prospect of victory is slim to all out impossible thanks mainly to poor education of US diplomats and military men: they always believed in Western weapons and Western military doctrine, but this is proving impractical in Ukraine for the absence of US air power. In fact without the USAF the US military would not have been able to win any wars, and as it stands, NATO without the US (and USAF) is a paper tiger. Defeating Russia without direct US intervention (and risk of a nuclear war in the process) is not possible, and I don't care PhDs and MAs from US 'colleges' think, they're dead wrong on this.

By pushing weapons to the border of Russia and threatening a NATO base at Sebastopol, the US poked the bear once too much. Last week Ukraine attacked the Russian strategic early warning radar. The US would never tolerate this activity on its border. Russia understands it needs a standoff buffer at the range of the supplied weapons, the point of contact will end up being the Dneiper and Odessa. The negotiations will be with regard to what happens to the remainder of Ukraine. Best case for what was formerly Ukraine is that it is ceded to Poland. Otherwise, it will remain an impoverished state wholly dependent on charity. Ukraine will run out of men willing to accept a permanent enlistment with only two ways out death or disability at this point the front will fold up. If you put troops into Ukraine they will be engaged with tactical nuclear weapons, that is how serious this is. Then the west will have to choose either to take the conflict over the edge or finally take the matter seriously and set up a lasting situation that meets Russian requirements.

Whether Russia or Ukraine is winning should be based upon solid evidence; for example, have Western sanctions against Russia been effective or counterproductive? Have Russia already gained any territories of Ukraine? Has Ukraine been able to regain the territories lost to Russia? Has Russia been isolated economically and diplomatically from the world or does it still have relationships with many countries around the world, including major ones? Do you think the west can militarily defeat Russia, the world's largest country with most nuclear weapons on earth? And do you think all western nations really want to provide Ukraine with all of their resources and die for Ukraine of nuclear weapons? These are difficult questions to answer; aren't they?
