one thing to note about your comment about the price: see, these phones were made for very specific developing markets. you really need to understand this context. yeah, sure, the price difference is just a couple of bucks in terms of dollars, but in these markets, it IS a big difference. i bought an A05 as backup phone/hotspot phone. it usually costs more or less PHP5,000 but i got it sale at PHP3,400 whereas the A05s costs around PHP8,000 and never goes on sale. first of all, for people who would buy this kinda phones are students -- new graduates, business owners who use two phones, or people in the lower income bracket -- the PHP3,000 difference is a huge difference (and with the sale, that's a massive PHP4,600). second, by the point of PHP8,000 there are TONS of alternatives from xiaomi, oppo, vivo, infinix, etc. which is why i believe that the A05 is an excellent business decision from samsung. no one else sells at that (sale) price and the ones that do are inferior.

There’s a weird bug on this phone where if you had 100+ SMS, the phone slows to a crawl. My dad has one of these and he received a lot of scam SMS, which is an issue in my country. The phone felt slow, and deleting them sped it up immediately to like new condition. Also, the A05 is $75 in my country, while the A05s is still around $125. So the A05 makes sense in my market.

The AO5s is actually a pretty good phone for the price. £99 in the UK. Does everything I need a phone to do. Don't play games or take many pictures. For calls.. messaging & social media it's perfect.

@@Mahnoorblush i would advice you to go for redmi 13c. It has higher refresh rate than the A05 that means the screen motion would be smoother and the A05 doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, the 13C does ( sidemounted). I've compared the cameras- slightly similar but the 13C also has an edge there.🫡

The A15 4G costs only just a little bit more, which kind of almost makes the A05s obsolete, since immediately you get an Amoled screen. And that alone makes a great difference. Besides that, if Samsung could make the A05/A05s really cheap (like a price bomb) it would absolutely be a good second phone option. Or a phone you get for kids. I got the A35 here, after my older A52 suddenly died. I would love the A40 series with smaller screen to come back, that phone just felt smooth and small enough.

The a05 is good in terms of software, it can handle heavy apps like PUBG mobile with ease. The only downside for me is no fingerprint sensor, with face unlock I struggle a lot to unlock it in dark areas.

i think the a15 5g by samsung is the best a series phone by samsung this year! it has a 1080p super amoled display thats 90hz a 5000mah battery 5g and the best part is that it still comes with a headphone jack and micro sd card expansion! and it has fingerpring unlock as well as face unlock!it does have a mediatek chipset though but it is a decent one... you can pick these up on most carriers for 200$ at walmart! i got mine though for 15$ cuz the dude at my local walmart "finessed" the system and got me approved for a financeing the phone even though i have 0 credit history...

I tried samsung a05 , because when on sale in my country and if it is your first samsung purchase it only costs PHP 3,500 ... 62 USD , its dirt cheap , and i see why , i never had a samsung phone ive been a xiaomi user for the longest time, and honestly ONE UI is very good , better than Mi UI ,down side is i feel like one drop and a dip in the water will kill it , in the lowest price xiaomi A3 uses an android go edition a bit dissapointing but the build is very good ...

My mom uses A05s for 8 months and it was smooth and fast in One UI 5.1 core but when it is upgraded to Android 14 it got so laggy and camera app couldn't even open and also the phone started to heat too much. Then it got a patch update and camera app started work again and lagginess got a little bit better. Then got another patch update and heating issues went away(at least until summer) and it got a little bit faster but not as fast as the day one. Samsung literally messed up this phone with One UI 6 and trying to fix it by every update. Literally my moms J7 Prime was smoother and faster than A05s. We will never buy A0 series again

I want non-AMOLED, biggest screen 6.7", 1080p, 3.5mm out and 6 GB RAM, so Samsung A5s is appealing (and you lose 2-3 out of 4 if you spend more on "better" models). Hopefully (unlike my A04) KZbin will allow Premium and 1440p quality on 1080p display; Samsung will allow 10bit H265 on Snapdragon chipset; maybe headphones will receive better sound quality (this one I'm not so hopeful).

Last week i put my A05 in my bag soaked with rain water during mount hiking (forgot to close the bag zipper), LCD gets really dark, hangs a bit but still working somehow, i'm far from nearest town, so i had to use it like a normal phone, eg. Taking picture, calling, etc. 3 days later i went to Samsung service center, got heat treatmemt, cost me $4 USD ($50k IDR). They advised me to change my LCD screen for $50 USD ($650K IDR), because they can't dried out the water inside the LCD, to which i refuse. To my suprise over the next few days my phone regain it's color (prob due to water evaporation), screen is working properly only a bit white spot on the bottom right corner, but that's everything else works just fine. Been dropping my phone 3 times without phone casing at around 1.5m height, i love this phone. I guess i'll buy the A05s variant next month :)

My dad used to have one before he opted to have the tab a9 instead. He's having trouble with a smaller screen to the tab upgrade made sense. I remember being able to play mobile legends on the a05s with ease and that's really my only benchmark. I do own the A34 though would've settled for the a05s looking back.

I have an A05s with 6 GB of RAM as a backup phone. It's great for watching Tiktok live videos because the height of the screen is better than my iPhone 14 Pro Max and I can see more comments on the screen. That's where its advantages stop though, it's slow, laggy when switching apps or doing pretty much anything, the cameras are awful, the mono speaker is awful. I know I'm comparing it to a flagship here but even my 2018 Pixel 3 XL which was my old backup, had way better specs, a better camera, is still snappier to this day. It just stops on Android 12 and doesn't get any software updates. The battery on the A05s is fine and lasts a whole day (or more) easily and I find the screen to be plenty bright enough.

@@EliAdams33 Love it Eli considering my A02 was absolutely battered its a vast improvement. Unbelievably I also sold my Ao2 for £25 quid on ebay so a right result. I basically use my phone for calls and video calls via whatsapp and as a tethering hotspot as I dont have wifi internet. Highly recommend if your after a basic budget phone.I will be buying another for travelling and backup soon.

They're not bad for what they are. Samsung's A series is facing a lot of really good competition from Chinese manufacturers. If you're not worried about Android updates I'd take a look at what other options are out there.

I had the a05s from april to june until i upgraded to an a15 . A05s is not bad just the unit i had would overheat while charging and would stop charging . I thought was a software issue and ended up selling it to a friend after i got my a15 . Seems like one ui 6.1 on a05s sorted that issue out .

I have an A13 for work, which was provided by the company I work for. I only use it for basic things, such as emails and Google maps. It is intolerably slow a lot of the time and it keeps overheating at the drop of a hat. I really couldn't ever recommend Samsung as I've had bad experiences prior to this phone (the only thing it does better than my Redmi Note 9 Pro is battery life (my Redmi is nearly 4 years old)

I have an office issued A05s, and I have to say, it sucks. It does some things right, but it's generally slow and the one thing I need it to do well, i.e. making calls (because it's a phone?), it just sucks. Doesn't connect consistently and often times drops calls. This was brand new from the telco, unboxed it myself. Got myself a used Iphone X out of pocket and transferred the sim card instead. Leaps and bounds better, and cheaper to boot. Just couldn't stand the thing anymore.

Decent devices for 2024, but Samsung needs to rethink the screens on budget devices, in 2024 we like punch-hole screens or v-notch/u-notch with very minimal bezels on the top & sides of the screen even the competition(Tecno, Poco, Motorola) at entry-level/budget has punch-hole screens Also samsung needs to work on their speakers for budget/entry-level their speakers are too low/tin-sounding even on max volume vs the competition

I'd say if you're going for the A05s, just go for the A15 4G. It is measurably better, with an AMOLED screen, a better Helio G99, better battery life and an ultrawide camera, plus better selfies.

I promised myself I would never ever do that again so my take on it I don’t like plastic phones and I would never do to. I don’t care if you even 5G. I stay with a 4G phone. It’s an iPhone. I just never do it again. I don’t like plastic clothes. This is my opinion and I like metal and glass back at wireless charging. I’m getting older.
