I expected the video to go more into the similarities and differences along the more recreational, night life, beach scene and cultural aspects of the two counties. How friendly or unfriendly the locals are, the beach surf cultures. Huntington Beach vs pacific beach. La Jolla vs Newport, Fullerton vs the gaslamp, local eateries and cuisines, etc etc. this video was more or less just a quick tour of Irvine which if we are being honest is the most corporate and culturally driest area of The OC. Nothing about Irvine truly captures the culture and personality of Orange County.

Hello Jay! Another great video. I totally agree with you the differences of the two counties. I grow up in SD and moved to OC for 8 years from college (CSUF) to my mid 20s. I just moved back to San Diego recently last August. I defiantly miss OC in certain ways. The Packing District in Anaheim which is similar to Liberty Station in SD. Omomo (Irvine) boba I really miss! I can’t find anything that comes close to the avocado smash drink in SD. Convoy needs a Omomo boba tea spot! Blue bowl which makes the best acai bowls San Diego doesn’t have this either. I would compare Mt Soledad (in SD) to Top of the World (in Laguna beach) but still slightly different in some ways. I was a track and field athlete in college. I miss the trails in OC I believe there are more well paved dirt spots such as Peters Cayon near Villa Park, Bike path trails through Yorba Linda, Redwood Groves that connect to Carbon Cayon in Brea. Running Newport was a good time too starting at Inspiration Point that hill side looking down to the beach was always a vibe. Comparable to if you combined pieces of Coronado & La Jolla Bird Rock together you’d get a Newport vibe.

Orange County and San Diego are different...they both offer fun adventures beached shopping and perfect weather😎 Overall it feels different in that OC seems just a bit more refined and commercial. While San Diego feels more relaxed and carefree. Try the food or some fun spots you find interesting. Thank you

The Diamond Center in Irvine is small. However, I like it for Japanese food, Korean food, boba, and Taiwanese "ice cream". Although, parking is tight.

Malls in the Philippines are like Disneyland. I like Ayala mall in Cebu and that SM mall in Manila with NBA restaurant. Best places I'd been there so far are Bohol, Tagaytay and Laguna.

San Diego and OC are way different. San Diego’s landscape is much more diverse with more hills, mountains, beautiful golf courses, a mega park in Balboa Park, 5 major theme parks, and an island that you can only get to from a bridge with a gorgeous view. San Diego also has a bustling waterfront and downtown and the largest military presence in the west coast. It is also next to the Mexico border and makes its proximity much more appealing. There are like a million casinos in San Diego while OC has zero. OC is more commercial, the land is flatter, and the houses there all look the same. OC is nice but definitely not as fun or beautiful as San Diego.

SD is nice but no it's not better in my opinion than OC .. nobody I know even bothers going to casinos in San Diego ..we all go to the ones in Los Angeles..we got Knott's berry farm and Disneyland..angels and mighty ducks definitely better than anything SD has...

The Padres and San Diego State basketball and football teams are way more interesting than those 2 minor league teams or any UC Irvine or Fullerton teams. Also there are no big casinos in Los Angeles. I lived in LA for 5 years and they only have card rooms. Most of the big casinos are in San Bernardino or Palm Desert. Get your facts straight man. Does OC have a historic park as big as Balboa Park? Does it have a downtown with a bustling nightlife in the Gaslamp or Little Italy? Does it have a massive waterfront with the iconic Seaport Village? Does it have the largest military presence in the west coast? Does it have a bordering country that is 15 minutes away from downtown? I can go on and on. I’ve lived in SD, OC, and LA so I know what each city has to offer. The only thing OC has is Disneyland and Knotts while SD has SeaWorld, Legoland, Safari Zoo, World Famous San Diego Zoo, Sesame Street Park, and the Aquatica. Do you see all of the cars that make their treck from OC to SD on Fridays and Saturdays? Everyone knows San Diego’s famous area code “619”. Wth is Orange County’s?

Cool video, but South Coast Plaza is in Costa Mesa, neighboring Santa Ana, not Irvine at all. Irvine doest start until you cross over the 405 around John Wayne Airport. The whole South Coast neighborhoods, are pretty well known neighborhoods that are within the cities of Santa Ana & Costa Mesa. Irvine has a very different vibe from both cities, and even the shopping centers are definitely oriented to different crowds.

The one think that orange cty. Has is the Orange County Performing Art Center. The musicals that are brought there are New York Quality and the prices you can’t beat. They tend to be 1/2 the price. I usually see 5 or 6 musicals. The people are fantastic and as a disabled patron, they are the best.
