Is Sanur Bali's (somewhat) Hidden Gem? | Beach + Town Walking Tour

Sanur is not a place you hear that much about when people travel to Bali, but I think that's going to change considering just how much this lovely area has to offer. Of course this is not the place to go if you are looking for crazy nightlife and the trendiest restaurants, but if you are looking for something more relaxed and are above the age of 30 lol then Sanur might be for you!

When I went to Bali 25 years ago, ‘Canggu’ didn't even exist!! It was about all about Ubud for the yoga lovers and Kuta beach for the surfers, and Sanur and Nusa Dua for the package tourists. Those in the know would go to Lombok, the Gili islands, and the black sand beaches of the north.

like you, i found sanur surprisingly pleasant, especially the sidewalks :) I think its a great starting/end point of a journey to bali: i spent my first couple of nights there as well as the last before flying out. it only takes 30 mins from the airport and is so much nicer than kuta etc.

Every enclave in Bali has it's own special charm. And Alina, you have succeeded to find them. Sanur seems more relaxed. We've not been to Sanur. It sounds like a must see.. Harriet and I are walkers and like you, we like sidewalks. Overall. We love visiting Bali. But there are two things we don't like . Too much scooter traffic and not enough sidewalks. Maybe that's something you should mention in the guide. And Alina, you are the best at showcasing all it's splendor. Hi, pretty sure the volcano you refer to in your comment is Agung in Bali if you are panning right to left. Rinjani on Lombok is further away and would be harder to see. Loved your video.

Usually travellers in BALI will also travel to Gili Islands (northwest coast of Lombok island) and will also travel to Labuan Bajo, the Gate to the Komodo Islands, in the East Nusa Tenggara. The islands are a great place for nature lovers to relax and enjoy activities. Gili Islands and Komodo Islands still has incredible stunning natural beauty. There are far fewer people over there compared to BALI.

It is like the journey is not completed without travelling to Komodo islands when in Indonesia...by the way, many Australians like visiting 3 Gili islands & posted their videos... the islands known for peaceful/ calm beaches and laid-back atmosphere, more relaxing for walking, bicyling, snorkeling, etc. Hopefully, the Gili islands will be on your list too in the future.🙂

Hi Alina, loved the Sanur video. We've been to Bali around 35 times and have mostly stayed in Sanur for all the reasons you mentioned. It is nice and quiet. What was the Alba Inn like as a homestay. I see the shower is right near the toilet. Was there breakfast included like most of them include for that price. Thanks Alina. 😊
