Hey Kraken. This is a very well worded video.completely agree with you! I used to play 3 or 4 times a week, between 6 and 8hrs. At one point we had 6 of us that wanted to play regularly, so would spend ages trying to get 2 ships on the same server. Now, i play once a week, may e an hour or 2 tops, the rest of the crew play other games now. Most of it is for reasons you mentioned. The game seems to have hit its peak, with no real vision on how to improve it for the better. Matchmaking for the pvp hourglass is painful. I play xbox onle servers, but recently seem to be matched with pc players. (Also had.a hacker friday whos ship didnt load into the game, and messaged telling us to leave as they had a 14 streak. We refused, and after an hour or so wasting their time, they kept spawning on our ship until we sank. Their ship still hidden under the seas. Is the game dying? Yes, but slowly. Could the game be saved? Certainly, but its the Devs that need to start listeninh to the correct players, and not making hundreds of changes that arent necessary, over making changes that are definitely needed (ie cheaters, hit reg, better matchmaking or improved pvp areas etc). Even if they adopted and adapted ideas from RD2 online in terms of a Parley system. Anyway, sorry for the rambling. 😂 thankyou again Kraken for highlighting this! Fingers crossed the devs will listen! 😊

Your point about naval Interactions was spot on. The fights used to be “gg’s you guys are insane” to now anytime a good crew sinks they call cheats. You can’t have PvP without anti-cheat.

A few days ago I jumped into a three boat battle over FoF and convinced everyone to stop fighting and do Glitterbeard. Some players didn’t even know what it was, others had been trying to get it forever. No fights broke out, everyone was happy even though it took us three tries. We just played music and watched as the fifth boat on the server finished the FoF off in the distance. I love this game

Very well said, HappyKrakenX! Personally, I think I am one of the players that has had too many bad interactions in the game to continue playing it until there is a PvE only mode. I love the art style! I love the pirate theme! I love the feeling of adventure! If I wanted to be griefed and called every profane thing there is, there are a lot of other games I could play for this experience. I don't care that they give away rare cosmetics. It's jist a game and fluff is the only thing Sea of Thieves has to entice players. The content, like the Plunder Passes can be finished so quickly. The Adventure per season that gets removed can usually be finished in jist over an hour at most. Time Rare spends on OvP seems wanted to me when they could be crafting an adventure game with an excellent story that most players will never be able to experience because 80% of it was removed from the game.

As a vet player with 5.5k hours in game i just want to say thank you for this video, You address all the issues I have had with this game for a while. I stopped playing due to all the issues we have had put up with and the lack of clear meaningful communication. I went from playing and streaming 12 to 18 hours sessions and now I am lucky if I play that in a month. I still love the game and think it is the best PVE/PVP game every made I loved it for such a long time and the friends I made along the way were magical times but all that's gone now I was slowly beginning to hate the game and just walked away. I still hold out hope this game can be turned around but I am starting to think for a lot of people it might be too little too late.

Great analysis and video. I personally was simply bored to death in both PvP and PvE after 3 years. The stories were entertaining but a one-and-done. Captaincy is just a grind of everything you did from the start. I was hoping for more dynamic world events, trade routes ran by NPC and AI where pirates can pirate a fleet, whirlpools that took you to a whole new map or world even. Anything other than the same-ol-same-ol. Should be interesting to see what Monkey Island brings to rejuvenate that which has become stale. Turning ultra rare rewards into commoner trash stunk for all the vets who put in hundreds of hours to obtain the loot, that one stung.

To add to the idea that some streamers in the past have kind of just ignored hackers and not discussed it: There was a post on the subreddit (massive grain of salt here) going into detail about streamers who are insiders and have deals with Rare, and *supposedly* Rare prefers streamers leave servers if a hacker is there (reduce exposure of the fact that the game has a hacker problem) and also preferred streamers not talk about it to their viewers live and in videos. But the hacking has been so extraordinarily bad since season 8, that quite a few of these streamers that had been dodging the subject have started to complain openly. Again, idk if this is factual in any capacity, but it does make sense.

I honestly, as a SoT Partner have never heard of that before. Obviously content creators sometimes advise other creators to just leave the servers if you don't know how to deal with it or it makes you uncomfortable or upset etc. Me personally? I just laugh it off and make it into KZbin vids hahaha! xD But yeah even if that were true there's no way at all to even deny the cheating issue right now :(

The thing I hate the most about Rare is that they are targeting every single unintended mechanic, labelling it as an exploit and just removing it from the game. First harpoon boards, then sail angle juking, other stuff I can't talk about, and I wouldn't even be surprised if they removed ladder juking. They are actively ruining PVP while ignoring much bigger problems like cheating, hit registration issues and generally poor server performance.

Yeah the harpoon boards just gave an extra way to be creative in boarding especially in hourglass! I rarely used it an adventure but omg during SWEATY hourglass fights poon boards were probably the only way you could get aboard, a good crew will always be guarding them ladders haha

honestly my problem with the maraduers medley was not that they re-released the old golden sailor cosmetics, (although i do feel sore about that as well) but that they didnt include the golden sailor capstan among the rewards which would be the last piece to complete my ship setup that i would like to use, as it stands at the very least i will have to wait for next years anniversary to get it, and thats only if they even release it then, and it wouldnt suprise me if i had to wait even more. ( i just hope they dont re-release the wandering reaper hull, at least some cosmetics should be kept rare)

If you have just started playing there is a boat liad of content to do and enjoy. I believe this video is mainly looking at the Long term playerbase who has already done everything there is to offer and got bored because of the lack of content currently.

Honestly, after a schism in my crew, every sailing session being littered with hackers, and tons of "'let's sail' fails" (people saying "we should sail together" and then ghosting you), I'm well past the point of quitting the game. That Rare would introduce a pvp-focused season without any anticheat is both shortsighted and absurd.

I started playing Sea of Thieves on December of 2022, already having the Gold Curse, level 30 Athena, trading companies at level 75, ghost curse, etc. I truly love the game, but after getting too invested on it, realizing the influx of hackers and lack of content. I have the Day 1 patch, but hadn’t played for a long time. Actually just started playing again. So far loving the Captaincy, personal ship, emissary, new voyages (well, new to me) and tall tales. Actually not ran into much PvP, but mostly sail solo anyways so not trying to pick fights with brigs and gallons anyhow. The new Safe Seas is also nice since I can log on and do some voyages in between working, chores and so on. But it does get grindy and slow if doing it for a longer period of time. Overall though, coming back in 2024 has been a lot of fun so far. Plus it also led me to your channel to subscribe :)

I couldn't have said it better myself. I have played since launch 2018 and fell in love with the game immediately. I have spent so many hours earning the "time limited cosmetics" and to see them available to all through Twitch Drops and so on made me feel kinda like "what's the point?". My friend and I plus my youngest daughter just got it and have been only on Safer Seas(except for me) and we all love it. Tried PVP to start, sunk one ship then got absolutely owned a few times. Couldn't explore or do really anything without getting attacked. Tried Safer Seas and fell in love, I have roughly 85 hours into pure PVE and still enjoy it daily

The biggest issue I've seen is the lack of respect on the seas. 95% of my interactions with other crews in the last 6 months or so has been terrible, toxic crews just swearing at you and just being a**es. I was attempting to introduce my son to the game coz things were great in previous months but he's only seen the bad side and doesn't even want to play it anymore, thanx toxic crews. These guys are pulling the community down to a point where a new player doesn't want to play, not because of hitreg or a bug, but because other players are so toxic. I used to think fortnight was the most toxic game but sea of thieves is quickly overtaking it. Very sad because I absolutely love this game😢

I actually love how easy it is to level up the battlepass. In other games battlepasses serve a purpose, that being to twist a busy player's arm into playing more because if they don't then they'll for one: not squeeze the most value out of that $8 they spent and two: miss out on those one time cosmetics. In games like Fortnite and SoT where players are on an equal playing field except for cosmetics, how you look can mean EVERYTHING. So I'm glad it's actually very achievable in SoT, especially given how much of a timesink the game already is (30 mins in the game might just accomplish nothing cause most of it is spent travelling), and playing it is hard enough as you need a time when you and your friends are all available to play for the night. An easier battlepass then becomes a must. The thing about the old cosmetics being recycled is vile though. You also have to remember that it's rare for game studios of big PvP games to actually NOT listen to the pros, because despite making up a tiny slice of the people who play SoT, the streamers are the ones calling the shots and if they leave or badmouth the game, hundreds of thousands will do the same. Most PvP games die out because the sweats and streamers paid to play the game to its limit are the ones asking for changes, changes that will annoy the other 99% of the playerbase. There's definitely a balance to be struck though. What I hate personally are ocean crawlers, they're beefy, they spawn stupidly often, and drop almost nothing. Half my time digging up chests is spent dealing with them.

I always played games for a limited time, then moved on. After a first attempt at SoT in 2020, i came back to it in March 2022 and since then i put in 1.2k hours of playtime. I achieved things I tought were impossible for me, like getting to Athena level 30, or PvP level 100. I ended up enjoying the grind, accepting both winning and losing. What made it possible, aside from the game itself wich is different from any other games, was finding other like-minded pirates in the Italian Discord Server. Setting sail almost every night with some of these friends, embarking in new adventures every time keeps the game fresh for me. It is maybe grindy and repetitive, but it pays off when you look back and see how YOU changed. I remeber the first months, when selling 100k worth of loot without sinking was an incredible achievment. Now we are the scourge of the seas, selling 400-500k, sinking ships and having fun. There is loads of problems in this game. There is loads of great stuff in this game. Some things will be fixed, other never will. I'm in it for the feeling of adventure though, and up until now nothing ever managed to steal that feeling from me, not a cheater, not a bug, nothing. And for that I'm still grateful.

The reality is now its a trend among so call " content creators " or more like Wannabe contents creators to invest in cheats and hacks to perform better than others to get reconised and watched .. So yeah its not because we dont see the aimbot and ESP on screen that is not there ... Zlaner anyones ? So yeah tons of streamers and youtube videomakers are hackers and they have spread this trend of sneaky hacking and soft hacking ( even using controllers sometimes to pretend the soft aimbot is simply controller aim assist ) yeah .. instead of the good old Rage hackers we are used to back in the day wich were mostly hillarious more than anything and insanely rare .. Now its a crap tons of streamer hackers or streamers who run with hackers to get reconized as better than others so yeah ! Also streamers and so call "contents creators " are constantly defending hackers as long as they are their friends !

@@HappyKrakenX Like I understand how fomo things can kind of be fun and exciting for those participating and that it is a tactic used to keep people interested and playing to make things feel alive, but unfortunately I think its having the opposite effect for alot of people into todays world, becuz theres only so much time in the day and schedules cant always be changed, making games with evergreen content I feel like are more sustainable because ppl know they can just come back and do it when they have the time. and I know I can just go on youtube for the lore, but its not the same. Every time a game would inject some fomo stuff into it to create some pressure to play my friends would all eventually quit (which happened with SoT) so Id be playing solo or with randoms and then I just couldn't keep up with it along with any other game I wanted to play too, with everything going on in my life irl as well which will always take priority over the other. SoT isn't the only game I've had to deal with this issue and they are definitely not the worst so Im not demonizing them completely I think its more a problem with gaming as a whole in todays world.

It actually started with season 3. Devs started to lower the skill ceiling (storage crate loading etc.), made the game more noob friendly and very easier with almost 3x more emporium updates. They just want new players to buy ancient coins the strat goes like: *update PvE *Nerf PvP *Make PvP'ers quit *Get the last PvP'ers to hourglass *Adventure is now like PvE server *Get new players *Make the game easier than anything *Emporium update *Emporium update *Emporium update *Money

This is great and objective content Kraken! The take on the abandonment of the FOMO Cosmetics Culture is spot on. The good or bad of it is sort of irrelevant as its such a 180 on what the community have been asked to buy into in the past. Its the lack of comms and consultation that has made people cross, turn off from the game and this has had a knock on effect of eroding the community spirit as you describe.

I stopped playing hourglass when Harpoon buying was "fixed" Why should I spend a total of 25 minutes of prep time before i can play a single match that can end annoyingly with all the bugs in this game? I can queue up in another game and start playing right away.

Bro, as a new(ish) player, I find rereleased cosmetics to be bullcrap. There is nothing great about it for new players, all it does is tell me that anything that I do in the game will have no meaning in months or years to come. Is the fates of fortune set I am working so hard to get be something obtainable in the Pirate Emporium soon?

The main reason why I don't play it anymore is because I personally never come across normal players, it was most of the time insulting and spawnkilling and just sink your boat for fun and no reason, and even when they sink your ship they keep insulting you, this really ruined the game for me, i don't know how it is today I haven't played it in a while, and I don't think I'll ever play it again, or maby i come back when they separated pvp and pve, but until then, i have no reason to play the game again and only get insulted by other players.

Very good video, I agree with everything you said. I used to play SoT each day, now I play once a month because the cheaters demotivated me. Same for some of my friends. Season 8 could have been great but the cheaters ruined it. And they might ruin the adventure mode too in the future, which would be the end of the whole game. If Rare finally adds a really good anticheat many people would come back immediately. It would save the game.

Hi I started playing this season I was always interested but I didn't have a computer that could run it now that I do I have been playing with lots of my friends and rotate around 9 different crewmates pretty regularly. It was pretty cool to find out a few of them had played in seasons past and a lot of them were really impressed with the new harpoon QoL update and we've all been having a blast together! I'd like to encourage others to reach out to old friends as well the results may surprise you.

Ive been playing since January 2019, so i managed to get those golden sailor cannons, and when i heard about the events coming for year 5, i was super excited. 5 years is a great accomplishment, but they did next to nothing with the rewards for it. It might be a little bit on me for setting my expectations so high, but i wasn’t expecting 4 out of the 5 rewards to be rereleases. They could’ve done a golden sailor figurehead or hull, im sure that wouldn’t be too hard, but im not a game dev so what do i know 🤷‍♂️ While i know the game isn’t dying, i really doubt that it’ll make the 10 year mark

Absolutely agree with all the points! I was spending so much time loving Sea of Thieves, but after a certain point it became kinda mentally exhausting to play. Having to remind yourself and hype yourself up each session that you might have to deal with hackers who will instantly ruin your session, regardless of playing PvP or PvE, just isn't worth it mentally. I do still love the game, but things definitely have to change. Thanks for compiling all the info and making this video, I hope Rare takes notice.

There's just no reason to play when you've already done every type of voyage and event, as far as the PVE goes. As someone who personally doesn't really care about achievements and/or cosmetic rewards, the only fun I have left nowadays is server hopping and looking for steals. It gets old. Sometimes I even successfully pull off a steal, then log off without even selling the loot. This, along with the absolutely horrendous performance of servers, is what is killing the vibe for me. You can sometimes tell if another crew with loot onboard is close, before you've even seen them, because of how rubberbandy and laggy the game starts feeling. It's just not okay.

Love the video, a very interesting perspective, a lot of optimism in it. I used to play Sea of Thieves as a solo player most of the time since it was quite impossible for me to actually gather a crew and play the game for most of the time and I liked the things that you could do in Sea of Thieves and I loved the feeling of playing a sandbox game where anything can happen, however around the time when adventures were introduced along with mysteries and Pirates Life happened I believe it went downhill for me. I hoped that dives (PvP battles) might will fix it for me when later on they were introduced into the game, but in the end it wasn't it. The direction Rare is taking Sea of Thieves in is maybe interesting for some people that enjoy the "pirate experience" and not "sandbox pirate world experience", but it isn't interesting for me and it is the reason I stopped caring for the game as much as I used to. Still, I see some discussions about Sea of Thieves and I am interested what players and people are talking about when the topic is the game I used to play a lot.

Servers are struggling, hit regs on a whole new level, swords are boat length long. The new season was literally 1new chest added to more recycled content, drops are yet again a reskin, plunderpass sucks, and the gave everyone the gun I spent a year on twitch getting.....

I am relatively new to Sea of Thieves, I had owned the game for years and just never played because the group that bought it were never on at the same time. Now I spend a lot of time solo or with a friend thats been playing. Were pretty much leaning the game from the ground up and experience and love a lot of the tall tales and PVE portions of the game. We dont mind fighting it out in PVP though we tend to do PVE > PVP. Mostly due to the toxicity of the players we have ran into. We have been tricked into an alliance just to be sunk after switching flags, we have had people talk to us while their friend kegs our boat from below. Things that make me think Sea of Deception more than Sea of Thieves. Most of the time when we encounter a PVP battle were on shore and someone sneaks over and cannons our boat. They dont even bother to take the loot after in most cases its just about getting the number of sinking up I think. That being said I only really ever encounter one bad feel once in a game session and have been enjoying the game. Though we feel were avoiding a large amount of content just on the fear of people showing up and sinking us while trying it, something that will just take time I am sure. As for hackers I have encountered at least one, entire boat teleported in and crashed into my boat at a reaper's chest spot. All recorded and sent in for their team to examine so will see what happens.

I think the best thing for newer players is just explore the game for what it is! It's SO immersive and captivating, I remember when I was new to the game I was just so addicted to exploring all the islands haha. If you're having fun with it then that's amazing! But yeah, not everyone is nice on the seas haha, you gotta keep an eye out!

I'm a newer player to the game, joining in midway through season 8 and about to reach 400 hours. I have not played it religiously every week, but a lot of my time was spent in chunks. I have not ran into many cheaters really. I only am certain of 2 really, one was months ago, and was way too cracked. Quick swap sniper pistoling from ship to ship and also hitting sniper shots everytime they shot out of cannons for board. The other cheater i am certain of is a player i ran into last week or so. Going around on a sloop, we ran into someone comming straight out of ancient spire, a base sloop, uncaptained, and it turned straight for us. I just went and tried to backboard in the dead of a moonless night. Once in the water, it didnt take too long that the guy came into my render distance. I could barely see the guy against the dark sky, he jumped off of his wheel, hit me with a snipe straight out of it. I managed to eat and dodge my way to the ship, only to get blunder sniped after having blundered him off of the ship. He hit the blunder and then snipe before even landing in the water. He was a naked fat man. After respawning, we saw his ship scuttle. I checked his profile in recent players, they were online 2 minutes earlier before i checked on them and only had 2.3 hours on the game. I'd like to believe that they got banned while trying to fuck us up, but i can't know for sure. Either way, those are the only real times i could say i ran into cheaters, but to be fair, i mostly focus on pve content and am trying to grind out achievements and commandations. I yet have to dip my toes into hourglass , but as of my experience with the game i can say that it's pretty welcoming and fun in the parts that i hang around

On the notion of re-released items, I'd be more supportive of the exclusive nature if they weren't just given out. I've run into lots of players who had the Golden Sailor stuff from Year 1 and they weren't the nicest people. More newer players I encountered that put in that weeks worth of challenges to get them, feel more appreciative and less overly flexy. Same goes for the Athena Curse which never should've been a Paid-For thing given every other Curse is earnable by base playtime. It's a tough thing to admit but this is a Content Creator geared game and once more leave the game, Rare will let it all sink. I think the community for this game is unique and great but as said about the dev team - it's still far too small to keep this game afloat and keep somewhat everyone satisfied. It was too ambitious for the team imo and that hurts the players in the long run.

I think it's just more people remember getting the golden sailor cannons and PL curse at the time and it was special and *supposedly* exclusive back then. Only to be re-released later on to everyone. Like, if Fortnite did that with OG skins there would be hell loose!

I feel the pl curse is acceptable as it requires a grind for an arguably better curse I feel fomo content is not healthy and while you should be able to earn originally in say an event the challenge to earn if missed needs to be cranked way up literally just stepping on a sea fort for some of the rarest cannons in the game is absurd

As someone who just started playing this game 2 months ago, i can honestly say the consistant pve encounters and the thrill from having to always look out for other players when you have loot has me hooked and addicted to this game. I enjoy the pvp combat system. However, i do wish there was some type of skill based added to the game. Getting wrecked to the point we dont even have the chance to fight back doesn't actually help us in getting better. it just makes us want to avoid players at all costs. I want to master the combat system of this game but its taking way longer then it should just to figure out where to aim cannons and i just learnd you dont get hit markers when in gun combat with another pirate. I have no idea when i do or dont hit my shots, or maybe my game was bugged. im not sure. lol

Aww I totally understand where you're coming from, it's hard because a lot of the things you have to learn the game doesn't exactly teach you or tell you itself. I can confirm tho if you DO hit a successful shot on another pirate you DO get that little "x" marker (but sometimes hit-reg is a thing where it doesn't register your shot even tho you did hit the pirate). I am actually working on a tutorial for newer players, kind of like lessons that I wish the game told me back then that I had to learn on my own! The one thing that confuses me is the pvp question. What do you want? More players to kill? What could they add other than a new reward track for PVP? You can already get PVP on demand and if you want an easy win there is always someone to gank. PVE players can still be barrel bombed by a PVP legend in seconds or just generally slapped in the open world. How are they catering to PVE players that are forced to engage with PVP?

I’m not great at this game by any means, but I miss how the simple things used to be harder. You couldn’t buy storage crates, you needed a partner to harpoon faster, and you definitely couldnt take all the supplies out of a barrel by pressing one button. And you damn sure couldn’t get a ships supplies after it sunk. I sound like a boomer, but I miss when these things were more difficult. You could stand out amongst other average players if you had a little forethought and planning. Like grabbing a storage crate off a skelly ship then hitting an outpost for supplies you had to load by yourself. All these new mechanics just make it so much easier. You used to be able to try to reclaim your loot after you sunk bc it took the aggressor longer to harpoon your loot. You might be able to still catch them, but all of that’s gone.

I feel like after 5 years we need an entire new world to explore, new combat systems, dlss and raytracing (update to newest dx version and unreal engine) to make the game fit for the future. All we get is recolors, patchnotes which are sometime simply not true and new bugs. For a microsoft game i would also aspect way bedder servers. I mean battlepass, xbox game pass etc.. One thing that seems to be murdering the sense of community in the game is the divide between the PvE players and the PvP players. Instead of engaging with the game as intended, you have alliance servers and TDM sweats; people who spam hackusations if you are good with 2 guns, and people who scream at you for using the sword; people who only stack loot and people who let the loot sink because they already have 170 million gold; people who think every exploit is on the same level as hacking, and people who think 3000FOV isn't a huge advantage even though they "need it". The rampant hackers are a huge problem, and should be addressed ASAP. But I've encountered too many "my loadout makes me better than you, you are subhuman" and "you shouldn't be shooting me in a pirate game, reported!!!" vs maybe like, 4 hackers in my 2-3 years of playing this game.

Still have a lot of love for the game, just most of the dedicated crew I have played with have moved on so it is solo-slooping for me when I do play. I do feel that the "chest of legends" was as much a PvP piece as it was PvE as it motivates crews to congregate on the forts of fortune for some no-holds barred slaughter with the last crew standing walking off with the chest (or the sneakiest tucker, in some cases :P) so referring to it as a "PvE only" content piece is a bit harsh. The upcoming Tall Tales are definitely pure PvE though.

I have a hard time coming back to the game with the toxicity I experience from other players every session, there is a difference between sinking someone randomly for loot and sinking them and yelling curse words or messaging them after disgusting messages. within the sea of thieves, I'm a sort of a special case among my friends when we play... a long time ago I proclaimed myself "the ultimate bilgerat", simply because I was constantly the repair guy and to this day I still am, so much so to the point of actually getting commendations about the veil quest from athena's fortune without ever seeing the large fort that's inside the hurricane while playing myself... The biggest problem is that newbies get absolutely creamed, and Safer Seas is not the solution it presents itself to be. It’s too nerfed and restricted. The biggest thing that's turned me off from the game is people who I thought were playing the game to have fun and laugh turning out to care more about winning and being goated. I've approached multiple people for sailing only to be told "I'll have to check my schedule." when I propose a reasonable time in advance. You know as well as I do that's the streamers way of saying "No." I get that Partners are hopefuls alike want their content to look impressive to Rare so they'll either keep bringing in the numbers or have more chances to reach those numbers, but Rare also wants to know their community is supporting each other. It feels like image is far more important to people than simply having fun or getting to know someone's skill level first hand.

@@HappyKrakenX I definitely understand sailing with your usual crew because you know you mesh with them and where all of your strengths lie, but if you sail solo and give the "check my schedule" line instead of just being honest, it really does feel like a slap in the face. If the person in question is more comfortable with sailing off-stream before collaborating, even that would be a better alternative. The hourglass dives really have made people care a lot more about winning instead of simply having fun. I partially think the curse and blessing incentives are the root of that, but at the same time won't blame them since those should be a grind to achieve. You know far more about that than I ever will.

The anti-cheat is a big thing for me but also just general management of the game. The most recent update from them regarding how many hackers and offensive voice chatters they've banned was good but it grinded my gears because those issues were still just as prevalent. Effectively nothing had changed but they were still patting themselves on the back. Just feels like they are starting to pull away from the game and just not fixing as many bugs not improving servers and extending of season 9 which I expect to become normal going forward.

Well of course they'd bring back the legendary curse, it makes sense if you think about it. Early in the game grinding for pirate legend was VERY hard and rewarded those who managed to get it which wasnt alot. With season 8 they got to add SOMETHING for Athena's. The legendary curse made the most sense. I mean the skeleton curse gets better the higher the level is that look very nice like the ashen skeleton, gold skeleton so on. Not to mention the ghost curse is unlocked at rank 100 and a gold one at 1000 so they got to fill the gap somehow than just clothes that looks no different from the normal athena stuff you can buy. Plus I think the legendary curse was supposed to go with the clothes cause the athena representatives that the clothes are from have the glowing eyes so I guess they didnt want to leave that part out of it so why not bring back a curse and give the community a second chance to get it. I'm glad it came back cause I wasnt a pirate legend and was nowhere near unlocking it. I dont see why people keep making videos about sea of thieves dying when there's millions of people still playing it....just because there's a lack of content doesn't mean it's dying

Yeah I understand your point here, I wasn't that bothered about the PL curse coming back personally it was more the golden sailor stuff coz that was supposed to be year 1 cosmetics. Like I stated in the vid I want the best for the game, I love it, and I made the vid to spread awareness and try to provide an unbiased stance on how the community feels in hopes that it gives people a voice and gets listened to and things get better. The cosmetics coming back is maybe like 10% of the frustration of the playerbase but for the most part everyone is just frustrated about the cheaters. I'm glad there's still millions playing, but I guarantee 99% of them won't be long term OG players

you talk about the hacking that they've already addressed and are continuing to address. They just posted a long article about packing and they ban thousands and that at the ongoing process to detect and block all the things you mentioned. Yes it sucks but they have been looking into it more than we think and know

I know but the sad issue is that all those thousands of accounts that got banned have just made thousands more new accounts in 2 minutes and are back on the seas again in less than 5 mins with their new xbox account, they don't even need to repurchase the game :(

God I’m honestly terrified sea of thrives is gonna fall into a TF2 syndrome where the devs will just ignore an issue and just let the community rot unfortunately unlike TF2, sea of thieves isn’t the game that never dies
