The biggest issue of SoT alongside hit reg is the lack of an anticheat. The commonness of cheaters and the extreme level of cheats they have (godmode, flyhack, flipping ships, insane speedhacks, INSTANT SHIP REPAIR??) is absolutely unacceptable from a developer team like Rare

I don’t think that’s the reason, most players don’t even think about it honestly (if you count absolutely everyone). Rather, the reason is in the game itself, there is no motivation, but only cosmetic progression and skill

@@AltenaYT There’s an anti-cheat in the game, surprisingly, isn’t it? The problem is that for the good work of anti-cheats, you need to have the cheats themselves. And mostly people use private cheats that are difficult to find

I think its because of some aggressive players and no way for you you to basically avoid them at times, like sot is a very time consuming grind game, so for you to be getting loot and what not get close to an outpost then get bombarded by some try hards would definitely be enough to put someone off a game and also they don't capitalize off of anything, there's so many more things they can add to the game that they just leave as is.

@@savastoimenov7431it's not a pvp sweatfest either one of the reasons rare got rid of arena was they didn't like the idea of the game becoming some Uber competitive game I for one play the game as is I was stating a fact that I have people that steer clear of this game cause of its reputation of being very no newbie friendly pvevp is what we have have right now and that's what I Prefer

@@subjectnivleis7572 they removed arena because it was dead, and removing arena brought the pvp players back to the normal servers en masse so clearly they don't mind the normal servers being competitive. Game is just fine as is, a separate PvE mode has no place in it, and if somebody dislikes that then it's simply not the game for them. There's 6 ships maximum on a massive map, if you really want to avoid pvp you usually can

I was never a die hard fan of this game, but i loved playing it casually with my best friend. However, we were never playing reappers and never cared about PVP, the thing that made us stop is that without PVP - this game has nothing to offer. Each quest is the same, events are boring if you play them few times, rewards also arent the best for completing them so there is not many reasons to keep playing it sadly.

My biggest gripe with the game is definitely hitreg. I use the pistol alot, so I definitely feel like I have to waste more bullets than I normally would just to drop someone.

The problem is since arena was gone there isn't much PVP in the game anymore and since the removal many players have quit the game and the sweaty tryhards are now spawn camping in adventure and that ruins PVE experience for new and not new players the simple sollusion is bring back arena!!!!!!

I do miss arena but the long queue times were dreadfull, and even after waiting 40 minutes you wouldnt even get a game on your own servers

I read that in the last 30 days, sea of thieves had over 1 million less players than the month before. You can't say it was simply because of monkey island either, because they only gained a few hundred thousand players from that update.

Update content is great and has been on the upscale more recently but the only thing holding it back is lack of anti cheat and some quality of life things

low player base means the game is dying, i have about 240 hours play on SOT on the steam client and what i don't like about the game is boring fights, no match maker for alliance PVP as that would help new players as its not fair putting them against pros till they quit, PvP is map wide and should be restricted to certin zones so players can choose to engage in pvp or not i mean think of the poor sods that cant finish the story mode/tall tales cos they keep getting mugged and quit playing. no player lobby or parait cove where players can chat or talk about the game everything is on a whim. Game still suffers bad LAG issues and i doubt they will ever fix it. Such a pity as the color pallet of the game is very pleasing and soundtrack is ok though i wish they would stop the NPCs from whistling those Fing songs. all in all SOT dont deserve new players as it hangs them out to dry right off the bat.

The short answer to this is yes it is the problem still proceeded and they just don't seem to care at the fact that PVP is still an issue they need to balance it alongside PVE the fact is what will happen if the Griefers will grief PVE that do not wish to engage in combat and so the game is dying because these PVE players simply leave the game they refused to return until this problem is solved and I actually agree with their decision the fact is PVP is rigged at the beginning tutorial you are not even taught how to PVP and herein lies the issue. If you were not good at PVP simply put you cannot play the game because at one point or another a player will come along and try to mess up your day the problem here that people don't seem to realize if you are a PVP player and you are messing with that PVE player that does not wish to fight back this is ultimately killing the game because not only are you making them leave the game permanently you are also killing the game by doing so. For many years now people have been asking for a PVE only server or for a way to counteract the forest PVP such as option in the menu to toggle it on and off while I don't agree with the private server thing I do agree that people who do not wish to PVP should not be forced into it and should have an option when starting the game to Simply disable PVP this would make it to where your ship was nothing more than a ghost kind of other creatures in the game such as skeletons Krakens all that could still attack you but players could not but rare refuses to do this thus the game is dying.

Add onto the statement of above it also doesn't help that when PVE Players Grind & Grind to get the amount of loot that they have on their ship only for some PVP or to come along and try killing them for it but yet they don't even take the loot so to prevent engaging in combat with the PVE or simply does is sells into the Red Sea with all their loot that's the way that they used to counteract it because they could always come back for their loot with a harpoon and get it and they could actually would stand because the loot was so far out there that pvpers wouldn't bother. But rare also fixed that to where the loot despawns off the ship if you sell into the Red Sea this was an idiotic decision in my opinion I think that this is another reason why the game is dying because anything to counteract the toxic PVP nature is immediately removed nerved or blocked. They are catering to nothing but PVP and it needs to stop.
