Today's video is the final installment in the American leg of our journey! It is full of juicy 4x4 shots and the fullness of life on the road. From here on out, we will be sharing much more off-road driving as we face the challenges of international travel. Thanks for coming along on our journey this year, we can't wait to dive into the new year with you!

Hola👋 from southern New Mexico🌶️🌵...learned of your channel from Tred the Globe with Chris and Marriann in Trudy. You may want to check out the Gila on some back roads and hot springs.

Hey! We will have to keep that in mind for next time. When we passed through Roswell, we stayed in a very cool campground with multiple cenotes. The deep water made for some cold swimming

You got to see some awesome country with a beautiful view. Did you meet up with Rudy while in Az? What is the cluster of digital gauges that you showed in the video, under the temp levers?
@gdayjambo
@gdayjambo 2 жыл бұрын
We did meet up with him! It had been awhile since seeing him, so it was good to spend time together. The gauges from left to right are: engine oil pressure, exhaust gas temperature, and turbo boost. Our engine doesn’t have a computer, and nearly nothing is managed electronically, so we have to monitor the performance of different systems

Yes way too congested, and I'm a New Yorker. During the tourist season exponentially worse. The times I've worked there, street traffic is so bad that sometimes I cannot make it across town to my next appointment and have to cancel (in my opinion, the traffic circles made it worse as many folks are not able to navigate traffic circles...but I digress). That aside, while you mentioned structurally it didn't hold up I still like how you used the Pelican box. Maybe the Roan boxes are another option that I might consider. If you don't know, when you cross Baja to the mainland the ferry likely will separate you from Roan to a crate that you cannot access. This happened to me in 2013 and said I will never again. Later I found out there is another ferry company that allows your pet to travel with you. I do not know if that's correct or not. If so, I rather be with my pet. Thanks for sharing.

We were very happy to be there in what seemed to be the down season, the summer must be insane!! In regards to the Pelican Box, we have reduced the weight and how it is distributed and new we aren't having many problems. It isn't perfect, but it is a good compromise. Thanks for the info on the ferries! We are planning to ferry with TMC (the cargo ferry primarily for semi-trucks) and they allow you to stay in your vehicle with your dog. No need to seperate pet & owner :) Thanks for watching!

I'm intrigued by your right hand drive Toyota given you're from the USA, I'd expected it to be LHD and then noticed when watching the last video. Is this explained elsewhere (PS i'm working backwards through your videos)

RHD Troop Carriers are significantly less expensive than than LHD and also tend to have less rust. Right now there isn’t a video dedicated to the story of the Troopy on its own. Episode one has a bit of the story and the “why are we doing this” also provides some info. Thanks for watching!!

I found you by launching off of Eva's channel and glad I did. I was an engineer turned accountant for over 40 years before I was able to break free and have the ability to do what I enjoy each day as a mountain guide/backpacker/hiker/mountain biker. The courage it took for you to ditch the 9-5 (or more likely 8-7) is incredible and I honor you both for doing that.

@@masta_yota Thanks for the feedback! Cursing will never be common in our videos, but I doubt we will ever censor vocabulary while experiencing the fullness of life. But maybe a little "earmuffs" indicator in the bottom corner? haha

@@lederppz6202 Agreed! Authenticity will always remain among our top requirements. It was one of the cornerstones of our plans to vlog while traveling and is the reason we saved more than enough money for our entire trip :)
