You also should not give cats away to people because there are so many who would use them for bait. torture, abuse and kill for fun or just dump them after they get sick of playing with them for a short time. Also, if it is okay for people to breed horses and camels that are luxury goods, mostly for the rich, then why isn't it okay to breed cats for the less fortunate who need this companionship for emotional support? It's a well-known fact that there are real health and mental benefits to having cats. I had a cat that guarded my home all the time. One time a man tried to break in and she went into attack mode at him. He got scared of her and took off. She likely saved me from a bad fate that night.

I came to learn more, it's because it doesn't feel right to breed pretty cat for sale. We know some breed is pretty but sick. So many stray cats wait to be adopted. I feel unfair. Should i only care for pretty orphan? Think like that. All cats are pretty.

Salam aleikum! I'm struggling to find an answer on my question. Where i'm from they recently made a law where they made it obligated to castrate/spay our cats because there are too many cats. In my opinion there are not too many cats but i think they are trying to make it difficult for us to get free cats so that the only option left is to buy expensive cats. I didnt castrate my cats and i have had 2 litters already and gave the kittens away. But now i found out that whoever owns a cat who is not castrated/spayed or gives away unspayed kittens gets a ridiculous fine of 500 dollars/cat. Now im wondering is it halal to castrate/spay our cats? And is it halal to buy a cat when you cant find one for free in our country?

The shelter's adoption fee goes towards rescuing and neutering feral cats.

Be mindful of who you give the cats to, coz some people can be sick- like they can torture, kill cats, not take care of them properly, treating them badly etc. Generally when someone pays for something they understand its value more, rather than a free thing.

In Sunni Islam, a majority of fatwas do seem to believe that it is permissible to neuter them, and if it's for a good reason or benefit. Sometimes there may not be people or shelters to adopt the newlyborn kittens, and you can't just throw them away either. Their heat cycles can be uncomfortable for them as well.

Find a male cat, keep them together always. Eventually they'll mate. But please don't think of sending her into the street. Best is to find a male cat for her to mate with. If that's not possible I'd suggest to just spay your cat. In the spaying process, the cat's ovum gets removed for which they lose all the sexual demands.
