Just for clarity for those who don't know, Butters caught hus dad going to gay locations, and took pictures of his dad's infidelity, showed them to his mom, and she broke mentally, which lead to her believing that by killing herself and her family, they could be happy together again, and she started by killing butters.

I think that was just a mistake, seemingly forgot to add that butters saw his dad sleeping with other men, not that butters was doing it himself. Probably fucked up writing the script and forgot to fix it before making the video

I think modern Sharon is a pretty good mom who's at least a bit more rounded out and sane. And I think modern Sheila is a pretty good mom who would probably apologize for some things about her early seasons self. So I think they're both much better than they used to be, and they are good at representing the fact that no parent is perfect. And honestly, I don't blame Sheila for some of the recent times she may have acted crazy. Let's not forget, she's married to fucking Gerald of all people.
