Growing up in Hawaii and being hapa (Hawaiian for mixed race, more accurately, Hawaiian and caucasian. Me, it's 1/2 Chinese, 3/8 Czech and 1/8 German), it's easy for me to see Shizuka as hapa. We see both the asian and caucasian features and how they mix. Hapa kids are always considered the cutest and when older, never lacking for dates.

Shizuka, that's one of the better Aussie accents I've heard attempted...excellent! Yes, people are very subjective when they look, and fail to see details. Shizuka looks like a beautiful hafo to me. Facial features sometimes favor one side heavily. My daughter is half white, but she looks 100% African. Both her hair and skin tone. Black women would always approach my daughter and ask her if my wife was her mummy. To be honest, if not for the fact that I witness the birth, I would probably doubt it too.

I think its so rude when people assume that someone isnt half or are just full asian. I know it may be difficult for some people to guess someone's ethnic background based off their appearance, but if Shizuka clearly said she is half, then why wouldnt you believe her- like why would she make that up? I think there is just this expectation and image that people have when it comes to what mixed people 'should look like'. They expect mixed people to have lighter hair and skin, 'bigger', lighter eyes, a higher nose etc. Not everyone is going to fit this mold, as everyone is obviously unique, and people need to just realize, respect and accept this. Sorry for the little rant, I'm also halfu and just get really annoyed by some peoples' ignorance and expectations surrounding mixed race people. Shizuka does look mixed. Pls create your own youtube channel Shizuka!

Both my boys have the exact same percentages, that's a trip. Well, my wife's from Shikoku so southern Japanese. I've got the great Nordic mix up going as well. Imagine Samurai wearing kilts, and there you go! In Japan, my kids look America. In the US, they look Japanese. what gives away you being mixed to me is the shape of your Nose.. That may sound silly or stereotypical, but I think a good majority of Caucasians have pointed noses because of the shape of our Nasal Bones. Caucasoid Skull Shapes. Which that term isn't used anymore but i'll go ahead and use it.. Our faces usually protrude forwards. Your Jawline is also more of a narrow shape.
