Yea he does eat up her armor, Im ok with it but its how you cant tell when his combos end it what always gets me.

It can be tough but once you start checking him in neutral for doing it he’s done. The damage you do can what he does before getting 4 drinks is just >>>> so much more. So if you start to punish that it’s a wrap for Jamie. Not easy I know but it will win the matchup for you 100%

bro Marisa is hard af to play against as DJ. Like you said, because of gladius, I just walk myself into the corner every round. I just have to bank on getting one or two hits and keeping oki pressure

@@philb707 Play outside his cr. MK range. Threaten jumps or whiff punishing from that range. Keeps them on their toes so they don't autopilot flowchart FB or Anti air.

I think honda marisa is pretty bad for honda but not as bad as you make it out to be, Honda can actually whiff punish gladius with stand heavy punch reliably with practice, its something ive labbed out a lot in training mode. Now of course the issue is being at the range where you can whift punish gladius against a good Marisa. Some unique quirks in the matchup is marisa medium tc is -8 on block, and honda ex headbutt is 9 f startup, so marisa doesnt have to spend ex gladius to commit to calling out a reversal attempt like she does vs the rest of the casts ex dps. However if honda wants to callout marisa charging a gladius on block after a normal, he can ex buttslam which is 6f startup, and get a full combo due to pc if correct, but if marisa doesn't charge but leaves a slight gap honda loses 2 bars and eats a punch to the face of course. I do think marisas lack of a traditional reversal is very nice for hondas offense though and he can pretty easily steamroll marisa if he gets her to the corner, but i agree that honda has to be the one taking risks in the matchup. Honest question, you just lost 2 sets vs AKI in a Kumite classifier, you mentioned you didn't study the mu. What did you say Marisa demolishes AKI?

Marisa beats Aki on paper, my comfort+familiarity have nothing to do with it, otherwise most matchups would be in Marisa favor

Yeah this is the most surprising placement for me. I get absolutely destroyed by Aki. I also lose a lot to Kimberly but idk if that's because I hate the character so much that I give up before the match starts or because the mu is hard

​@LucianRudeboy Neither of those MUs you should be struggling with. Neither characters have a good defensive option outside of blowing cheap supers so your oki should be turned up to ten and obliterating them off of knockdowns. And if they start getting jumpy or twitchy in general and youre getting pressured like crazy then theyre stealing turns and you need to know when theyre getting in for free and punishing it. Or just hit medium punch randomly. Half the time itll be free damage.

I agree with you Marisa on honda mu she demolished him stop his options headbutt and buttslam have to play solid have to use hp to whiff punish gladius headbutt works too but i recommend not so risky . I don't mind the matchup as honda main if i get knockdown well ggs lol .now my Marisa is diamond am enjoying it more .

What's the best button to deal with Jamie DR HP? I have a horrible win rate vs him because of that. I beat him easily with Manon but I struggle with Marisa. Also full Honda mode is the only way to Honda. I would have him in wins or even.

Does gladius not lose to the shotos who have a projectile on super 1? Luke and Ryu don't have to space it, it breaks armor, and can be done on reaction since it's strike invincible.

Marisa can do 100000 gladius in a match Ryu and Luke maybe 3 level 1 😂

@@nosearches8340 2 super bars per round is pretty normal. And these are completely raw unscaled super 1s that can be thrown out on reaction. Honestly sign me up.

In Modern I could see this as being a relevant concern, but even then it doesn't do much damage and doesn't really lead to strong oki either. In Classic you can't just constantly buffer supers all the time to interrupt moves. Even mashing off of medium TC, Marisa can cancel it into superman punch to make it whiff. If you have Marisa at 10% health then it's something you can look for to try to kill her, but it's not like you can build an entire matchup strategy around this. The damage/oki is not good enough for bar you are spending. It doesn't really help you win the round on it's own.

I think Honda V Marisa is 5-5. IF the honda is playing modern. His level 1 gives such easy reactions to any of her charged heavies or gladius

Ryu win ????? Ryu crouhcing kick heavy to easy combo death, Heavy punch drive rush easy win combo ! As marisa player 50/50 ruy ken are on lose to easy tools to fast and when you cant touch them whit all your neutral they can hit you whit almost every neutral . Even if they whiff before you touch they have already hit you whit million light punch. Or maybe are to bad
