This is one of the best if not the best Ryu/footsie tutorials online, even though that wasn't the intention. I come back to it again and again. At the end when you say don't worry about what you want to do, figure out what your opponent wants to do, you're using that information to still try to take them to the corner, correct? You still "want" to get them into the corner.

BumpasaurusX here - finally found this video - everyone’s like “you’re the guy from the 801 Strider video!” I’m like “what video?” So first thing’s first: this is a totally reasonable takedown lol. And I do train in the streets! But 7 months later you will all be glad to know I: * Use DI much less (but I still Yolo occasional it because it’s the spice of life and color explosion pretty). * I have discovered there are more than three buttons. * I have learned a lot more about the game and come to appreciate how ridiculous that game play was. But I promise you I am still not amazing, and I still DI too much. But doing it less and pressing both more and fewer buttons has helped me get JP and other characters to master a little more consistently haha. Cheers and have fun out on the streets everyone!

Good point on neutral, & dealing w/neutral skips. I main Honda, watch top players, & want to improve, including neutral. I don't get to visit my brother as often as I'd like for gaming/SF6 (usually every other weekend). But I watch tech vids through the week, do some training & other modes, & vs. Interesting to deal w/physical challenges at 50. Took me 5 years to reach gold in SF5, so improvement rates vary, it seems. Fun vid. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. I've done a few drills, but it's overwhelming the number of vids w/different drills. I usually practice combos & do the in-game drills. Been playing since SF1, but don't get to play often. Nice vid.

when I started playing I was dogshit at anti airing. I went into the lab. I spent hours practicing. I got it *down*. It felt good! I saw the results! I don't even THINK about anti airs any more, they just HAPPEN! IT'S INCREDBLE! but then I had my 30th birthday and now driverush seems twice as fast. Fuck man. Back to the lab I go, I guess.

i'm a dhalsim / marissa main. i'd say the main thing to look out for is his lvl 2. I can't tell you how many matches i've won because of that. It's my only real wake up reversal, so i just play around that all game, I only do SA3 when I happen to have it. I also almost never use s.hp only really as a way to mix up my fb set ups. Really sim's rushdown style is where he shines, it's like he's always mixing you up.

Finally tried sf6 again. Just picked up manon. Was an abel main back in sf4, so i naturally gravitated towards her. Glad to see you picked her up too. This helps alot man so thanks for sharing.

I hate this feature of the game. Players have found a way to over abuse it. There should be a cool down. In which you can use it again. I've seen players overly abused, over, and over and over again. They don't attack, they wait for you, so they can perfect Perry, and then hit you with a combo, and go back to turtling a perfect perry. Honestly, a perfect perry, should cost you some of your special or drive gauge. You should be punished for using perfect Perry, even if it means you avoid taking damage or stopping an attack. Maybe it's reduce your stanima on my gauge, and cause you to become dizzy. Something.
