I don't understand when people complain about the hotel rates when I have to pay over EUR250 for hotelss in Europe and it is not even a 4 star and most times in an old building with no lifts and in a dodgy area. The rates are more in places like Switzerland and UK. Yes, Singapore is expensive than most of Asia but comparative to any developed nations around the world. Also, the food in Singapore is super cheap in hawkers and transportation are so clean and inexpensive.

If you live in south east Asia, hotels are expensive in Singapore. Compared to Europe, US or Australia, they are the same price if not cheaper.

I’ve stayed sat the V Hotel at Lavender MRT( it’s literally above the MRT), and its pretty reasonable for a 4-star rated Hotel ( Tip: just don’t stay during the week of the Singapore F1, that’s when hotels really get expensive ) , or there is a more budget- friendly 3 star Hotel , the J8 Hotel, which is about 7 min walk to Lavender MRT. Geylang is not SO BAD as people think it is, from memory it’s only the Even Lorongs that have the Brothels ( particularly from Lorong 18-24) . Geylang is well known for its fruit & vegetable markets, but particularly for its Durian vendors ( since you can’t take it on public transport or eat it in your Hotel room) . It has some good noodle houses ( I’ve had my best Prawn Mee noodle soup there) and not to mention Durian vendors where you can also sit and eat onsite.

@@sandrabentley8111 Yes Paris, London, Barcelona, Rome; I have been several times. These cities have hotels in old buildings, some with no lifts (or antiquated lifts that is too small). Worse if it is peak season or there is convention in town. Amsterdam is similar. Zurich rates are insane. Just naming a few here.

I've been to Singapore three times. 2-3 days is definitely not enough. Each of the neighborhoods, be it Indian, Chinese or Malay, is worth a visit. Then don't forget Orichdeen Park and the Night Zoo. All the Food Miles, Lau Pa Sat, Maxwell and streets closed off in the evening with food

The Jurong Birdpark has just moved in right beside the zoo, River Wonders and Night safari. It's now called Bird Paradise, so if one wants to visit more than one, they can either buy a multipart ticket(probably not cheap) and visit all 4 within a 7 day span, or just buy a 2 park ticket and visit one in the day and visit the night safari at well, night.

Singapore is really special due to the diversity of people and culture, little China and little India are great, Sentosa is another place to visit. Bugis is very central. Transport is fantastic, food is awesome and hot like Thailand. Gabi and Ploy make a nice couple and appear happy.

I work near Raffles Place. Singapore has a nickname. We call it “Singapore is a FINE city”. They fine people exorbitantly for a lot of things. Like drinking or eating in the train of bus can get you $300 fine. Be careful when using your drone there as well. There are a lot of no fly zone in Singapore and you need to apply a permit before you can fly them. I had a drone previously and thinking to get some Marina Bay Sands area shots but found out you need to pay around $60 for a permit and takes a while to get it so I sold my drone.

Yes, I've had two stays in Singapore. Both in January. Different years. Beautiful architecture, colorful flowers everywhere, great city planning, delicious food. I had a very nice airbnb near Aljunied. I love taking the MRT. But the heat outside is unbearable for me. There were some moments that I was about to faint because of the heat.

The way to stay cool is to walk in the malls in Orchard Road where most of them are interconnected either with underground walkways if not use the MRT. That way you won't feel the humidity and heat. Best of all you can go around the island. MRT is a loop around the island.

I lived in Singapore and I’m from Ecuador. Ecuador is more expensive. You could’ve stayed in a coliving space in Tanjong Pagar - which is the nicest neighborhood in Singapore (other than Botanic Gardens MRT) for a $100 a week.

I showed the price in the video. That room was around 70 usd a night. Hotels are expensive in Singapore. 2- you can exchange money at the airport. I usually just withdraw from my card at any atm 3- i use a go pro 10
