Adding to the topic of loneliness, is it even possible to have any sort of dating life with your lifestyle outside of short hookups etc?

Just settled in for the evening and you flashed on my site. So fun. Love Fridays and look forward to your videos. About me- retired nurse now but in 2008 I got a dangerous infection from a patient of mine. I list all my savings had over 200,000 in hospital fees and after insurance owed 15,000. Lost my job. Finally after 6 months they killed the infection. Lost my job, bills and broke this is what happened. I was on a walk and saw a van 1999 Dodge Ram van. They wanted 5,000 dollars- I offered 2500 - the man said sure my wife wants it gone- I had a car also-. I bought the van, drove it too Walmart ( fixed it up to live in) Got a full time nursing job-- live in the van parked at Walmart for almost three years- saved enough money and paid cash for a home - I came home to Walmart to my van every night and in the mountains I would crawl into the van and my foam bed was occasionally frozen -- I learned many things ( worst night was 40 below 0 F. It was the best thing I ever did. I learn thankfulness, I became very grateful with the simplest thins in life- now I am older and retired and have a home completely paid for. It was an amazing adventure with many story to long to share but with creativity and faith van life allowed me financial freedom. God bless you and may all your dreams come true

My experience is that 99% of people who I've met are not worth a light, so called friends who turn out to be back stabbers in some way. Have you had the same experience, is that why you enjoy being alone? Thankfully my wife of 25 years is my best friend too but I'd still like a male friend, I keep trying but most folk just aren't interested it would seem. I'm 55 now, it's worse than ever, society has gone down the tubes over the last few decades I'd say.

Don't be afraid to reach out when you are lonely. You've made this video, so that says a lot about the truth of what you're feeling. We all want that feeling of independence and tough ruggedness at times, but we still need to keep our friends and family close to share our victories as well as our defeats. Happy to see you addressing your feelings that will help you identify and overcome difficult situations that so many of us face. You are loved, and thank you for everything you bring to this channel and our lives. Be well, and much love from here in the US.❤

And also not to mention the importance of an animal companion. The difference between being alone and having a dog can't be overstated when it comes to mental health. That said, where was the dog in this video! And when keeping in contact via the internet, a video call is where it's at. A phone call doesn't scratch the same itch for fixing lonely periods.
@sunspot7570

@@tonyhawk123 Good points. I've been hit with that 'empty' feeling once or twice just while working alone for extended periods. It's a crummy feeling for sure. -- After some research, l learned that unexpected changes or disruptions in our sleep patterns can cause some stress and anxiety to surface when we wouldn't otherwise expect it. This may sound obvious in hindsight, but we're all human, and can be faced with these challenges and their effects on us no matter where or how we live. Not always easy, but just recognizing these stressors and having someone to confide in when we feel down or isolated will go a long way to help.

I have lived in France, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Scotland, and the list goes on and on and I completely relate. I have moved about soo much and sometimes I have been very lonely. Why not try and connect with some other van lifers, not necessarily for YT collabs but could do. Also, I got into swimming and wherever I've lived I've always found a local leisure centre for that, can be quite a good social setting. So maybe a hobby that can travel with you might help :)

The largest stadium in the world couldn't hold the number of people who watched your last video, and yet the cure to loneliness was two companions and your parents. I agree, leaning linquistic basics shows respect. I've solo van lived now for over four years in the UK but I travel abroad a huge amount for work. I find the work thing more lonely because I can't express myself in a foreign language, well, except German, so it's hard to approach people or express my personality. Solo in the UK is easy, I don't have a problem being on my own. Love the vids, enjoy your spirt, keep exploring.

Happy Belated Bday Amy! I traveled alone, but had my dogs. Then I hung my keys for about 6 years, then I lost my dogs. I like to say "Alone, but not Lonely". But I recognize that I need to get out, so making plans to go out in a van again, sans dogs so that will be really different, but time to push it and explore. I speak Spanish and a lil Portuguese, but have no interest to travel to Mexico. Your companions seemed like a hoot, glad you got to spend travel time with them. Glad you adventured out, and now back where you feel comfortable. Cheers! Also, condolences for losing your Queen.

Hard agree on the 60s clothing in Lake Como! I’m about 1400 miles closer than you are as I am in Texas but yes, two can dream :-)

I doubt it is that lonely when you have parents and friends all around you especially when compare to those who have no friends at all and parents are gone. Also, in van life, you can drive around to see them whenever you like freely. Moreover, it is either to work alone or find a job so you can see and talk to people everyday and you can't choose both, right? More like attention seeking in this video, lol!

There is a different type of loneliness when living or travelling abroad . I emigrated to New Zealand in 2016 and wasn't expecting it at all . I wasn;t home sick neccesarily but something was going on . Now i'm back in the UK i feel more settled and less lonely although still lonely .

My philosophy “I’m alone sometimes on movie locations at night…sometimes traveling…sometimes at home….but never lonely due to reading/writing scripts or playing my guitars!”..I’m at peace being myself doing what I love ..Ame your soul will never abandon you for a minute doing what you 💕 love

I readily confess I prefer destinations with high English fluency like Amsterdam. It’s fun to learn some of each local language but unless you can stay and immerse in it long enough it’s a constant struggle.

Trooper! I actually love beeing alone. Dont let the ups and downs, youtube, revenue, money get a grip on u... just make some tea if u are stressed and hot choco if u are down... prepare for winter invest in portable woodstove and diesel heater.

At the end of 2020 one of the UK's people had convinced me to "wild camp" to spend time outdoor and enjoy nature, I used to be an indoor person, constantly watching movies, playing games and doing other stuff, my very first wild camping was in 31/12/2020, yes I was sleeping in a nearby forest (as I lived close to a forest at the time) and woke up on 01/01/2021, and then 2021 became one of the best years in my life! I had travelled to Wales and Scotland for weeks, where I broke one of my widnows by accident and then I was driving back from Scotland to Cambrdige without a car window, though the wather was amazing. I spent also few times at Surrey Hills where I did my first wild "camping" sleeping there without a tent, under naked sky (I had tent but found such a lovely space to lay down I did not need to pitch a tent. I loved 2021!!! I lived for few months in London, then I am back around Cambridge. I unfortunately had a bad car accident this year in may, and I am unable to drive and don't even have a car to drive as it was taken away and damaged quite badly. I had 50% of chance dying or surviving and due to bad brain injury I was told after I woke up from a coma, that I would most likely be disable with my speech and my thinking and memory etc. Mieacle had happened and I can talk, I do understand everything, I do remember alot of things before and after accident. I had changed my life and I love to spend time outdoor and especially wild camping, I have been to few forests but it is less than 0.1% of places I slept in, I wanna make my life to be more outdoor and either travel or have a full time settlement somewhere. I never spent that many days outdoor and never slept in random places... I love to do it either by myself or with someone (had not a chance yet to have a companion with me yet).

Spent 2 yrs building my 2013 Mercedes sprinter, been wandering North America for 3 yrs paragliding off mountains and loving my sweet little copilot mini dachshund. Avoiding cities and society, and the enslaved madness that is todays society. Scarey that I am settling easy into obscurity, becoming almost "the last human heart left beating on earth", or as it seems so. I can relate to your experiences and lack of human contact. Bless your strength and independence sister! I dedicate this song, "getaway car" by Audioslave 2002. Your channel is enlightening and soothing, brings happiness. Keep up the stellar feed.

Imagine a bunch of us van/tent/car camper types coming to have a picnic/potluck to meet/greet/support you. Community comes in so many ways. I can bring Bavarian pretzels and beer…🥨🍺🥨!
