Ame, try and get yourself some vacuum seal heavy duty plastic storage bags to put your clothes in, and use a hand pump to remove the air (shrink the bag) = saves on storage space + protects clothes from moisture = mould (providing they are dried properly using a tumble dryer at a laundrymat before packing them up - when you want to wear your individual garments/clothes, just use the steam from your kettle to take out the creases in your shower area.

Hi Ame, ventilation is the key for any healthy living area, wether it be a house, boat, van, or bus, airplane, to lower the risk of mould growing, in your case a passive extraction fan perhaps? Whatever ventilation you choose, it’s about removing the moisture buildup in a small area that comes from your breath, your dogs breath, cooking, etc. 17:24 😊

yeah, will help prevent mold. also get a dehumidifier if you can afford the power usage or run it when you have access to power
@Buzzhumma

@@zangin dehumidifier is in the air conditioner so there's a plus thats built in to the van and it only takes ten -15 minutes and the inside of the van is done if it's sealed and no wet clothes around . Just make sure the fresh air vent button is pushed to recirculate ! Always put wet clothes in a sealed bin bag . You just spin it to air tighten the top of the bag with all air pushed out and then place it ontop of the spun part so it's own weight seals it ! 👍🏻

It is good that you no longer listen to the advice of psychopaths, especially white people, who sleep every day on their couch, watching your videos while you suffer from physical and psychological problems, and they enjoy watching you. But when you want to stop, and this is your right, these psychopaths come ((men and women of the white race, especially from the whites of America or England, etc.)) To ask you not to stop so that you get sick more and get more psychologically tired so that they can enjoy according to your health. I know many of the famous camping car channels on KZbin. They decided to stop it for psychological comfort and a change in their lifestyle, and they closed the comments on those who hypocritically encourage them in order to continue making videos that make them sick psychologically and physically. I explicitly encourage you to change your lifestyle. Remember that if you fall ill or face a financial crisis, you will not find anyone who encourages you here with outward comments. They encourage you internally, enjoying themselves at the expense of your health. Standing by your side or supporting you financially or morally. Health is priceless.

Ame, you love St. Tropez so much. Have you thought of getting a room there that you could use as your home base? You could still travel as much as you like but since you always keep returning there anyway, you could get rid of the storage unit and always have a secure, safe place to go to whenever that fits your mood and desires.

Yes, I think a base in St. Tropez is a very good idea. I wonder if you may have answered your own question about where to go right now: nowhere. Maybe spend a few months in St. Tropez to decide whether you'd rather be somewhere else and, if so, where?

I did van life for 8 years Amy and as much as it was the best of times I look back and recognise the times I needed a break and to be in a house. I still went everywhere but the randomness can have an effect especially on your own and give you mild ptsd. I only just managed it but the many other vanlifers I know didn’t take the breaks and it has taken its toll and we all agree that to sustain what we want from vanlife just is not reality if you don’t manage the toll on your psyche. I know your great and will figure it all out but you want to consider staying in a hostel here and there to break things up abit . 👍🏼

wow I applaud you for 8 years of van life! yes you're right, I'm trying to figure out some sort of accommodation... I want to stay at campsites etc because I feel like I've gotten so used to the bad parts of living in a van (and from my life before van life) that I forget that there are other options. It's quite strange really, but truly I've not lived anywhere but in my van since I started and to be honest I think it's because I'm a tad scared to remember how nice it is to live in a building (and then I'll not want to return to my van haha) Maybe I'll build a tiny house soon ;)

@@ameinavan yeah well I understand that fear of that fear but maybe it also may assist your journey to think along the lines of not trying other spices in the rack cos you might not use pepper anymore 😱 I like to think there's more than just salt and pepper in the spice of life 👍🏻💪 😊 Really looking forward to watching your escapades when you start to spice things up and what good timing with being in Morocco! 😂😂 Another option is renting someones driveway and sharing utilities like bathroom and kitchen for a week here and there. I did this about 10 times and it was great to rearrange and give everything a good clean . Also a few great nights chillin with some fun people watching a movie etc . Mostly it was existing Share houses and mostly they had enjoyed that lifestyle before or were keen to do it anyway . Like minded people! 👍🏻

@@ameinavan Tiny Houses are fascinating to me. I've always liked small but cozy and comfortable living spaces. Never lived in an actual Tiny House, but one of the bands I was in, we all threw in together and got this old fixer upper house that had enough rooms so each band member had their own bedroom, with one room left over for our recording studio. I was laughing my ass off at those guys, all doing _ROCK PAPER SCISSORS_ to get the biggest bedroom, while I scoped out the house for walk in closets and old laundry rooms. I found a laundry room that was hella big for a one-dryer-one-washer- one-sink setup, but small for a bedroom; I proceeded to build a big rack with old scrap wood & put my bed up high so I had a little living room with a couch and 52" flat screen TV under the bed. I found room for a small but very efficient wood burning portable fireplace, swamp cooler, 2 burner stove, and the sink was already there. Best of all was the toilet & plumbing already installed! I was completely self contained except for a shower. Luckily the place had 3 separate showers, one of which was right across the hall from my door. I have fond memories of that place; small, but extremely cozy and comfortable. Not an independent tiny house structure, but it surely was a _tiny master bedroom!_ 🤣😂🤟😹🖤🤟

@@ameinavan I also just wanted to say that I don't really think that you telling us all that crazy shit you went through is _drama._ I think of drama as a bunch of at least partially artificially inflated 'crises' usually pumped up by some narcissist or serious attention monger lol. You know, _Drama Queen,_ with all the disruption and stress that such people cause. What you experienced was a nonstop series of setbacks, equipment failures, _people_ failures (you went to get propane after psyching yourself up to go when you didn't feel like it.. Guy at the store loses the keys to the propane tank storage _on the very morning when you needed it most!_ ). Ice, cold, freaken hypothermia, potentially sliding off that narrow road and bouncing down the side of a mountain... At the end of the video, I could plainly see that you have a lot of willpower and self control, and were using it to avoid breaking down in tears. I mention this not to drag you through that stress again, but to say that in no way did you look like you were weak or incapable of coping. In fact, I think you showed some deep steel courage to put yourself out there before the world while you were feeling like one great, fizzing mass of nerves after all that. I've only discovered you fairly recently; many of your followers have been with you for a much longer time than I have been. I didn't see anyone looking at you with anything but the utmost respect. My comment is simple; when you get pushed to the edge, if it helps vent the stress to unload to your you tube followers, then by all the gods both sacred and profane, _cut loose & unload!_ I'm not gonna judge you negatively, and I don't think anyone else will either. 🖤🤟🤟

@Ame in a van you know what ? You liked your stay in Zurich, and i recommend you to move one time to the south Switzerland. There are many mountain huts, really tiny and cozy places, which are open for everyone. There is no key, just open the door and make yourself comfortable, have some wine, beer whatever, pay later. You can stay there for entire month, hike from hut to hut. I love that, especially in winter time. You can combine it with sleeping in the Van. Here is some short clip from that place kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaWWlmRuntGhibc

Well you're very lucky. As for the mold, did you install a vapor barrier over your insulation? You need to install one to keep the inside moisture from touching the cold shell of the van. It's just a sheet of thick plastic on top of all the insulation. This is a must. Everytime warm air inside the van creeps thru the insulation and touch a cold wall you'll get condensation inside between the insulation and steel wall. And as someone else suggested in the comments you need to keep a maintenance log. Everytime you do any service write it down with the date and you can include the cost to keep track of your expenses. We did miss you but glad you're okay. And WOW what a huge increase in your subscribers. Congrats on 200,000 very impressive 👍👍👍.How's the kettle I helped you name (Phil)? I know many of the famous camping car channels on KZbin. They decided to stop it for psychological comfort and a change in their lifestyle, and they closed the comments on those who hypocritically encourage them in order to continue making videos that make them sick psychologically and physically. I explicitly encourage you to change your lifestyle. Remember that if you fall ill or face a financial crisis, you will not find anyone who encourages you here with outward comments. They encourage you internally, enjoying themselves at the expense of your health. Standing by your side or supporting you financially or morally. Health is priceless.

I spent a month there when I was 21 and I loved the people, culture, history and the beauty. You should absolutely visit the USA at some point too! Love from the USA😘 Angel

WRT the mold, you need proper ventilation. We lived in our holiday trailer for a few months while our house was being built and condensation in cold (winter) weather is a serious problem. Best solution would be an air to air exchange. You're living the life many of us would love.

Girlll this is this best video you can watch if your interested in #vanlife!!! It literally sums it up perfectly!! I love that you are real...so many others are NOT and you really need to know/see what it is truly like! Don't get me wrong I love it but it is NOT always fun and it can be very stressing and hard work!! I'm so glad you are ok and had a decent holiday with your family!!! I got the 'vid' for the holidays in my van, alone, in neg degree weather whilst being out of fuel for heat and everything was closed 😬 it was a treat I tell ya 🤦🏼‍♀️ can always be worse right!!! 😮‍💨 Love ya woman have a great week!!! ✌🏼🧡

Ame, a van unlike a house is not constantly heated in the winter. Hence, condensation. This is also a problem with unoccupied houses. Condensation forms in the walls and fungus grows. This is also why vehicles are mostly glass, nylon and plastic on the interior to resist fungus growth. In the lab we used UV light to mutate DNA. It will kill bacteria and mold. It does not take much UV to mutate DNA. So a low intensity light will do. You don't want a high intensity light anyway because like sun light, it can also damage clothing. You can place UV light in your garage and have it turn on whenever your engine is on. Fix your heater ASAP and keep it on as much as possible (requires a lot of battery) to dry out the garage. Between the two methods your mold problem should be better.

Noted that on the van fit out you installed a voltage sensitive relay. Because of the strict charging regime of Lif Po you would be better changing to a B to B charger, they produce a more stable voltage.

For mold I recommend diluted bleach and soak it in a clean cloth and pass on all surfaces. to avoid this problem you need electric ventilation so that the air is renewed and in cold weather this outside air must pass through the heating.

We moved full-time to a 41' motor coach, which is no different from the Sprinter in many ways. Batteries, propane, water, fuel, dumping, storage, parking, did I say parking, but nothing can take away the freedom of travel. I have been stressing over a solar-battery system upgrade from a 25W maintainer to 3-4000W panels. I already have Renolgy panels on a 20' office trailer, and the dual battery combiners aren't cutting it for us. My wife and I have been watching your channel, and you have given her the confidence to dive in and “Just Do It” and be self-sufficient. As a part-time Charter Boat Captain of a 65' for years, I've learned to fix anything. Now it's time to ditch rent and mortgages and, as you said, live your life while you can. You are so young and wise beyond your years... Mike

welcome back we have missed you… Yikes as time goes on we sure learn a lot about Van life. I know eventually you will be an expert and you will not worry as much.but yeah the stuff that went on that's hair pulling torture… I'm so happy you got everything back in order. My sister lived in a motor home when they were building her house and moisture was the number one problem she said. I hope you find a solution if there is one… I'm glad you're not in the mountains anymore. I'm glad you're down south and I am so happy to follow along your adventure… Your absolutely terrific or should I say brilliant… Love your English… Always the best to you from me
