15:40 Some translations actually do render "Why have you come" instead as "Do what you came to do." Apparently, it's a difficult part to translate. I'm not sure why, because I don't read Greek, but my guess is because the words all run together without spaces. It's like if English ran like that, and if I wrote "Itisnowhere." Do I mean "It is nowhere," or "It is now here?"
@curtthegamer9343 жыл бұрын
8:00 I think this one probably happened because the people who wrote the screenplay for the movie were looking at Luke's Gospel when they wrote the scenes. Luke skips over a huge chunk of Jesus' ministry that Matthew and Mark include, so anybody that read Luke's Gospel on its own might erroneously come to the conclusion that Peter's confession of Jesus as Christ happened immediately after the Feeding of the 5,000. This is actually a problem with a lot of Jesus movies; They'll go mainly off of one Gospel, leading to points where they mess up because they didn't consult the other three Gospels. Even The Jesus Film of 1979, a movie that was intended to be pretty much a word-for-word adaptation of Scripture, has problems like this, because they went soley off of the Gospel of Luke, and didn't appear to consult the other three Gospels at all. Jesus doesn't even ever wear a crown of thorns in it, which is something I think they would have known about even if they never glanced at the other three Gospels (because it's iconic). So it almost appears like they went out of their way to go, "If it doesn't appear in Luke's Gospel, it's not going in our movie, even if we are well aware of it." It just really rubs me the wrong way. That's actually one of the reasons I put together a combined version of all four Gospels (making it read like one long book with all the details present), and put online with a public domain notice, because I want people to be able to get a perfectly (or as close as I can with a harmonization) accurate version of the Gospels without flipping back to glance at all four every few minutes.

This movie also makes the mistake of implying that Mary of Bethany and Mary of Magdala were the same person. While not impossible, it is highly unlikely that they were the same person, because Bethany and Magdala are two different places.

Your channel has been a God send for me. I just happened to come across it & it's been a blessing. I've really fallen by the wayside over the last several years with my relationship with Christ. I am saved, but haven't been to church regularly in a long time. I seem to struggle daily with the same sinfulness in my life & at times just say "Oh forget it" when it comes to not giving into it. I've been listening to a lot of your videos while at work over the last few days (I work on a production line, so I can't watch them) & it's been very uplifting & convicting. Sorry this was so long, but just wanted to say thank you.

6:47 - I'd like to speculate that he's quoting a passage pointing out, along the lines of "Where is the man she supposed to have slept with and where are the witnesses?" There could be more. I'd like to think that he's pointing out that this is an illegal trial.

This movie was made by hollywood new agers so they don't believe Jesus is God. They call Him the Christ consciousness. It is obvious they do not regard Him highly as they ought to. This movie is blasphemous. Good judging on your part.

In my opinion, most of the unbiblical elements were included to make the movie more fun and entertaining or to dramatize the plot. For example, when Jesus revealed that he would be betrayed and then shoved a piece of bread into Judas's mouth, making everyone realize it was Judas, it was done for dramatic effect. In that moment, everyone was sad and angered by the news that Jesus would die.

10:24 You reference Matthew correctly; however, Luke has something to add: “For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater *prophet* than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” _Luke 7:28_

I actually watched this movie a few days ago, and I didn't really like this movie as much as something like many other Jesus movies, but I still found it good. I've watched this movie plenty of times and currently writing the Bible out but sheesh I didn't take into consideration how much of this is different from the actual account and I really need too; I mostly only noticed the obvious. Atleast they didn't put a disclaimer saying "oh yeah, we changed *some* things" and end up with the movie feeling completely different from the actual story (PureFlix's Book of Esther).

I think they purposely combined scenes and changed them to shorten the story. I believe they thought they could give the audience “ more” information that way; since it’s consistent with the fact that there is a lot of info post- resurrection ( unlike other movies with similar content).

Jesus was under the nazarite vow ,the only wine he was not allowed to drink was fermented or strong wine
@cowel87342 жыл бұрын
True but his ministry would have ended the vow as he touched a dead man too. They were calling him a glutton and a drunk for eating and drinking. I do believe he was most likely essene before he started and they would do a similar vow.
@curtthegamer934 Жыл бұрын
@@cowel8734 I'm not sure he was under a nazarite vow, but, assuming he was, I'm not sure that touching the dead people actually would have ended his vow, because he was bringing them back to life. They weren't staying dead. He obviously didn't become unclean from touching the leper that he healed or the bleeding woman who was healed touching him.

Not biblical enough. Won't see it. Thanks for the heads up. I hope Dallas Jenkins gets a few future episodes correct for The Chosen. At the time of this comment Season 5 has yet to come out but has finished filming. The last episode of Season 4 shows Jesus coming to Jerusalem on a donkey. I hope episode 1 of Season 5 has him flipping chairs etc As for when they do the last supper I hope they get that correct to with Judas dipping the bread at the same time as Jesus. I also hope Dallas gets the flogging and the crucififiction correct. Passion of The Christ was the closest to do that from as far as I know with the exception of the clouds turning dark which didn't happen. The sky simply becomes dark with a blackened sun. If Dallas Jenkins gets these important details right for future episodes, I will call that a win. I have been enjoying The Chosen a lot despite some incacurcies here and there and the timeline of events not being exactly correct. Many times I found pausing a important scripture scene of Jesus talking, checking the bible and comparing, and more often then not they made sure to get the quotes from Jesus in the scriptures spot on or very close to it.

Jesus is the SON OF GOD. Just like ADAM is the SON OF GOD. This means he did not have a human FATHER his genetic contribution was from GOD. Eve was made from ADAM so she was part ADAM and part GOD. Jesus Christ was born of a VIRGIN now if you understand correctly this means THE MOTHER who was virgin only contributed the GOD part of herself NOT the ADAM and because GOD was the FATHER of Jesus Christ and his mothers contribution was purely of god through the VIRGIN mary this brought forth our true GOD JESUS CHRIST he was a full manifestation of GOD in the FLESH. He was not of ADAM but purely of GOD the truely only perfect manifestation of GOD IN THE FLESH. That is why he was able to take our SIN on the cross and in doing so fullfilled his prophecy and become the LORD and SAVIOUR of humanity. God manifest in the flesh. SON OF GOD SATAN, SON OF GOD JESUS CHRIST. ONE IS THE FATHER OF LIES THE OTHER FATHER OF TRUTH. ONE CAN DELIVER US TO SALVATION THE OTHER TO HELL. ADAM = SON OF GOD SATAN FATHER OF LIES JESUS = SON OF GOD CHRIST FATHER OF TRUTH LORD EVE WAS HALF ADAM HALF GOD SO WHO DECEIVED EVE REALLY? BOTH WERE MANIFESTATIONS OF THE GOD IN THE FLESH ONE DECIDED TO BE HIS OWN GOD ONE WAS TRUE TO THE CREATOR GOD SO THE TRUTH WELL IT SETS US FREE!
