This passage always mystified me and now it intrigues me. I went back and read in my language (french) to make sure. Here is my take: I think the wheels are real, but not alive. The fact that they seem to operate from the spirits of the cherubins, could they be "tools" remotly operated by the Cherubins spirits ? And if these are some kind of remotely operated heavenly tools ? What are they for ? I really liked that video and I’m off to the one in early reference.

The workmanship of thy tablets and of thy PIPES= pipes does not mean Lucifer had an ability to sing. PIPES means he had great speech. He could convince a multitude. Not exactly correct, but pretty close. 1) Firstly I don't agree with the Cherubim holding up the throne, they are mentioned being under the firmament while God the Father is sitting on his throne above the firmament. It says that the floor of his chambers is crystal. Remember the Tabernacle is a dome, not a rectangle that we were shown in recent Bibles, it's a mirror of the firmament, this is why God makes his dwelling around dark waters and clouds. In addition in Ezekiel and Isaiah the Cherubim move freely around when God commands them to do things. In Ezekiel one of the Living Creatures lifts up through a window in the firmament and meets Ezekiel at the gate of the outer court to give him the coals of fire that are between the wheels, all while God the Father is sitting on his throne and has not moved. 2) Cherubim have 6 wings, Ezekiel speaks in "group" terminology. Together they have 4 faces, together they have 4 wings. Ezekiel makes more sense if you read it in the Septuagint. This is further confirmed in Revelations 4 when the Living Creatures are mentioned with 6 wings. To understand Ezekiel you have to understand ancient astronomers and Babylonian imagery. 3) Each Living Creature has one face, each face matches the Tribes of Judah and the Cardinal Points of the Zodiac. Which means they are transparent or sky blue and they hover right under God's throne which is in Heaven right above Polaris, above the 2nd crystal firmament. They are aligned to the celestial bodies in the sky and move with the rest of creation. They are "royal stars", the firmament and all of heaven supports the throne of God. Their faces illustrate all aspects of creation...man, ox, lion, eagle. It's a way to show the power of God since all are parts of creation, but under Him. 4) The Hebrew translators did not understand Ezekiel and his strange language. The underlining lemma for the word "eyes" was so confusing that the translators did not translate the word and left it as "eyes". In ancient astronomical text at the time the word "eyes" were used to describe "stars" or "sparkling jewels" (which is a metaphor for stars). Ezekiel calls out Satan as once being a Guardian Cherubim of Eden, and further describes his likeness as being full of stones that sparkle, and where he walks there was coals of fire. It's the same description as the other 4 living creatures. In all accounts of the visions of the Throne room in the Bible there are only ever mentioned 4 living creatures under His throne. However when Isaiah goes up to Heaven, he sees what he calls a Seraphim. Isaiah was really smart and he knew what he was looking at because Cherubim were described in many visions prior to him. However in this case a Seraphim in Hebrew and Greek is described as "burning, poisonous, symbolical creature, fiery". What you have to understand is Isaiah knows that what he is looking at is a Cherubim, but this Cherubim is different and reflects snake like features (just like how all the other Cherubim have different animal features). Imo the Seraphim is Satan, however Isaiah does not know it's Satan and is trying to describe it. Remember during this period Satan was in Heaven playing the role of the "accuser" (mentioned in Job), before Jesus resurrection and cast Satan down from Heaven. I'm making this connection because Ezekiel says that Satan had jewels all over his body that sparkle, which is exactly what Ezekiel and Isaiah are describing with the Living Creatures. 5) The wheels within wheels (Ofanim or Galgalim, executors of God's judgment) are the chariots of the Cherubim, they are not sphere shaped. The best way I can describe them, is imagine looking at a chess piece, each chess piece has a platform under them, so imagine a circular donut platform with multiple rings inside of them. The way they move is in unison, and they don't turn, the whirlwinds guide them. It's hard to explain, but imagine a box with thrusters on each side, and each thruster fires to create movement, the box isn't turning as it moves because it's really the thrust that causes movement. Living Creatures use whirlwinds to move, which is the "Spirit of the Living Creatures" which is mentioned multiple times. In Psalms 18:1-50 it describes God the Father opening up heavens and riding a Cherubim down to save David. Almost like a scene from LOTR. Christians need to be comparing the Masoretic text against the Septuagint. The Septuagint was preserved by Christians, while the Masoretic text was alternated by non-believers. I'm not going to get into it, but research the Sethite Heresy topic and you will understand what I'm talking about.

To say that Ophanim are not living entities is not truth. God is life, and there is nothing in heaven that is mechanical, artificial, or technological, there is only life in the Presence of God. Ophanim are living beings, not angelic, but alive. God can not be limited to only what the human mind can comprehend.

Ophanim are not angels.... seraphim are not angels, cherubim are not angels - only angels are angels.... follow the suffix 'im' is plural. Anything 'im' is tied to service to God directly - angels (no 'im') are tied to service to man (believers).

Much of scripture is illustrative so that we can seek to understand it. Much of the human learning of God is given to us in illustration for this purpose as well. I think this teaching / theory / interpretation has validity….makes sense and thank you!

One of the best movies ever

I wish I watched this before watching the movie. I wanted to watch something entertaining that also would focused around goodness, faith, provision, grace, mercy, hope etc. That movie was horribly evil.
