In all honesty, like the hotel transylvania films: I'd watch it if it was at least a silly film for kids. But the first film lacked things that barely even got close to Hotel blahblahblah; here are a few things (I think) space jam 2 needs at the very least. (Meaning things that make it at the lowest point; a silly film for kids). 1. The jokes need to be funny. Less mean-spirited and more kooky, whacky or maybe Looney jokes and gags. In fact why not resort to basketball jokes? Space jam barely did those; so that's an untapped jokebook there! 2. Have the celebrity cameos don't just be cameos or mentions, have them important to the story and not shoe-horned in. 3. Be creative, don't just do say... looney tunes bully aliens, now they fight to avoid slavery or "insert token bunny girl who doesn't want to be an object, but arrives doing just that", be unique in itself. For example; lola can still be like she was in the first film, just make her a looney toon? Maybe make her a cross between the "Looney tunes show" and "space jam". Make the jokes more timeless and less of-the-time; no memes, no twerking, no me-no-gusta *shivers*, just make funny jokes. Just a few idea.s

One of my favorite things about Space Jam is Charles Barkley, my (current) favorite past Suns player. He was so good, I was never more _pissed_ when they traded him for a nobody in Sam Cassell. His best years (by far) was with the Phoenix Suns.

Let me throw another bit of advice for if they're going to pick up the story from the first one - Lola. If they're going to have her (my money is on "they will,") give her some WELL needed character development. Maybe she came from a troubled family and her only escape was through basketball, either by watching it be played or by playing it, herself. It doesn't have to be "deep," it just has to make her a tad more memorable than in the first movie.

Interesting list, Chad. I kind of made one up on my own if anyone wants to read it. 1. I like the ensemble idea. Even though they probably won’t do it, it’d be nice to see the basketball players and the looney tunes’ personalities clash. Heck, a few of them could even have subplots together. 2. Please please please please please please PLEASE don’t have them in CGI. It would be so cool and original to have another movie that blends 2D animation and live action together. Plus it could make you a lot of money, as a lot of people would be willing to see this blend again, just saying... 3. This is probably my most controversial one on the list, but firstly, I really don’t want them to squeeze in another forced character just because the executives wanted them to. Its lazy, cheap, and doesn’t get a lot of time for said character to develop if they’re rushed in. Secondly, if they had to put Lola in there, I would like them to update her personality. Maybe make her like Lola from the Looney Tunes Show. I know some people don’t like her personality there, and that’s fine, but I just think they need to do something to make her personality feel real, unlike the bland token chick we got in the first one. (No offense OG Lola fans.) 4. I think since the first one was kind of bad and that Space Jam overall is a weird concept, I think the sequel would benefit from a few meta jokes. I’m not saying to make it in your face or to replace the slapstick and witty dialogue entirely with 4th wall jokes, but maybe a few comments here, like maybe someone cynical like Daffy makes a comment about their predicament being kind of stupid. Besides, the Looney Tunes aren’t new to meta humor. But hey, what do I know? I don’t even know anything about basketball.

Well, Sony made a sequel to Jumanji and it worked out. Jumanji is a better movie than Space Jam, but I was surprised at how decent the sequel was. Blade Runner 2049 is a more enjoyable movie to me than the first one in all of its various cuts. Jurassic World seemed to do well enough to keep making movies even though Jurassic Park III should have killed the franchise 13 years earlier. There's plans for a Terminator movie that is a sequel to Judgment Day but not to any of the other Terminator movies that came after it, which could really mean anything, but movie studios are getting bold. Long spans between continuations of stories seem to be popular for movie studios. Space Jam 2 might just become a hit.

I think a sequel to Space Jam could work... If they decided to think outside the box and base it around a sport that isn't basketball, instead of playing it safe and rehashing the plot of the original Space Jam with a different basketball player. I always imagined a Space Jam sequel themed around dancing, of any kind; maybe it could involve the Looney Tunes forming a big mixed-genre dance crew to fend off a new army of alien invaders, this one being sleek, silent, and highly-synchronized, rather than the goofy aliens from the original. It could be like an interplanetary cartoon version of the Step Up movies, or even Bring It On. Perhaps Stephen "tWitch" Boss and Allison Holker could be the equivalents of Michael Jordan in this premise.
