Thanks for your video. Guys, just for informative purposes: The usual schedule in Spain when you work for a small to large company is 9h up to 19h. That can change depending on the company and sector. Some of them have flexible timetable giving the chance to start at 8h but then you can finish at 17h or start at 09:30 and then finish at 19:30h. There are many exceptions to this. For instance in the public sector/ public adminsitration they may finish earlier. Shop owners, restaurants, etc. can close by 13h, go home to lunch (wherever they live - it may be far from the store is placed-) and open back again at 17h. Then the shop is opened up to 20:30h. There are many other exceptions: If you are a sales representative you may be busy the whole day up to 21h one day because there are tons of sales to attend, but another day you may finish by 13h as there aren't any sales meetings to attend. So, guys stop asumming in Spain people spend less time working because simply it is not true. You have a vision of retired people that mostly relates with retired spanish people and then make assumptions that not always are true. Have a nice day.

Being an Anglo- Spanish family like you Stu it’s quite a mix of tradition. I have to fight tooth and nail for my Turkey! The kids love it and so does my brother but the rest all want lamb…. 😅

I feel the cold in Seville as the flat has no central heating, and we are used to central heating in the UK as we couldn’t exist without it

I live in Seville. A warm cozy flat in Spain in winter is almost unheard of, let alone the bars and restaurants, they're freezing inside. They leave the door open.

I spent many years in Spain and if I returned I would only ever look for a south facing apartment/ property , You need that lounge/ balcony heat in the winter even if it is only for a few hours. I've had non south facing and the good energy is not there , it just never feels right either.

29:06 yes, the Founder’s brewery in Michigan now mostly owned by Mahou. The IPA is about 4%. Their bar here has those large vats that you see with a microbrewery. Also a very nice bier garten. I first saw Founders on tap in 2019 is the Gracia neighborhood in Barcelona.

When I used to go to the UK, apart from my work there, it was quite common to see San Miguel in certain pubs in the south of England and now I’m concerned about robotaxis the thought of taking an unplanned trip in a driverless car, with no control, sounds terrifYing, especially for a sightseeing tour. Great interview!
@steveinstamfordАй бұрын
I've had 2 bars in the UK. The vast majority of pubs are brewery owned and they decide what lager you have to stock, not the pub manager. You get whatever the best business deal the brewery get, or if they brew it themselves though many breweries are now groups so will only allow their pubs to sell whatever lager or ale is brewed by their group of companies

Total Bs.. Wages accounting for inflación are clearly down..Gdp only grows because 6 million migrantes have entered the country in the Last 10 years and part of them work.. more people .. more gdp… but not more gdp Per capita.. Most growth is debt driven even with population growth I am half Spanish but grew up in the States.. never been colder than living in Spain… having said that ., locals Dont seem to mind. Not even my 13 year old son.. he never wants the heating on My simple math calculations wages are down 15 percent in the Last 7 years.. and disponible income even more

I believe you have to factor in demographics ,dropping unemployment, and increased immigration. The immigration is always a boon for the economy. This will continue for the next decades. We in Canada import 1,000,000 people per year and had to put a brake on it because it was overheating the economy. So expect the southern European countries to drink this elixir, now that they need to. Solar and wind projects are also helping the balance of payments.
@JAGSRАй бұрын
It is rather the opposite, most of the immigration that Spain receives comes from Latin America, so the language, religion and a large part of the culture is similar to that of Spain. They are immigrants who integrate easily, which is why Spain can absorb a large number of immigrants.

Growth around 2 percent is not a "boom", just solid growth. Booms are bad, since they lead to speculative bubbles, and we know how that ended last time. It only seems like Spain and the other former "PIIGS" are "booming" because Germany, France, other EU and the UK are stalled or going backwards.

Spanish lagers are some of the best in the world. Mahou "Tostada" and Estrella de Galicia "1906" are particularly good.
