Stu roasting that gentleman who decided that he should announce his departure like an airplane was brilliant! 😆

In the USA, Dunkin Donuts made a big business out of selling “donut holes” (the alleged missing center dough). That was way back in the late 1980s. I liked them since they were bite size and you wouldn’t get sugar glaze beyond your lips…

Hi Stuart, Your top 5 cities to move to Spain was great! As a 38 and 40 year old couple looking to buy and who have been priced out of Valencia, it seems lately your channel has been curated for us. My husband listens in the background while I watch and you have made him laugh out loud several times in the last week! Thanks for the good humor. We all need it in these scary times. Have a couple coffees or a glass of wine on us :)

Hola Stu, Tim Hortons was started by Tim Horton, an ice hockey player in 1964. It started as coffee and donuts but now serves other food options. It became a chain and has continued to grow since his death in a car crash in 1974 after a game. I definitely would not call the coffee ‘high quality’ but better than regular restaurant coffee! 💕🇨🇦

There is a “Tim Hortons” on the Gran Via, Madrid. I was surprised, but I did not have ANY bad coffee when I was in Spain EVER the whole month of October 2024. From Madrid, Marbella, Malaga, Granada, Alicante, Valencia and Barcelona. From South West to the North East coast! I guess I got lucky… LOL! ;) Cheers Stuart 🍺🍺

I can’t imagine wanting to eat at McDonald's, let alone stay long enough to enjoy a beer there.

Yeah I really disagree with macDs selling beer here, burger king don't or KFC. I don't see the point 🤷🏼♀️

@@sipzc-djIt's mostly catered to young Spaniards who want something else than the traditional Spanish food. At least, that was what the young bloke behind the counter told me when I asked him the exact same question. 😂

I worked at McDonalds before starting college back in the 1980s. They enforce their marketing and sales plans (including menus) which helps ensure success worldwide. Having traveled to multiple Asian countries, I have seen menus that are somewhat different than those here in the United States. Malaysia and Indonesia have fried fish and chicken that wasn’t Mc Nuggets or Mc Chicken. Most Asian McDonalds have at least one noodle dish. I suppose in order to lure entire families to their restaurants, you need to have something the grandparents want to eat to attract the entire family. I noticed that the cola sodas taste a little different too. I have had a beer in the Mc Donalds in Madrid and Porto. The USA probably requires a liquor license which most outlets avoid.

KZbin Premium is well worth it, and if you're a student, there's a discount.

Madrid is indeed the motor of the country. I always tell myself to avoid the big cities when in Spain but always end up in Madrid. The place really does offer the best of everything you can find in Spain and often much cheaper. I look forward to my next visit in 2025. Cheers from Cairns, Far North Queensland.

That fire is caused by thermal runaway on electric cars batteries, very hard to put away as it self ignites. So much for "eco friendly" vehicles, the smoke those fires throw is nasty stuff.

Spain has some of the lowest homicide rates in the world. I recently did an assessment on it. (I'm Aussie) it's fascinating.

I have been unfortunate enough to know at least one of the ladies that have worked for spanish politicians in those 'parties'... Actually this year I've had to put my own money forward to 'rescue' one of these young girls to get her out of this situation. The stories she can tell are absolutely horrendous, more than I can bare to be honest... Suffice to say it involves underaged girls, clean ups and coverups. I never imagined living in a world having to deal with this stuff, but hell... Life had other plans for me I guess. It's not all politicians but... Corruption, money and power... What can I say!

I think that they're only in California, New York and Japan at the moment. There's five of them here in the Santa Monica and Venice CA neighborhoods. Very good coffee and pricey snacks. (Have also gotten their espresso whole beans in some supermarkets.)
