once I finally got diagnosed with stuff in my early twenties (oh! there are reasons!!!), and started meeting and interacting with people with various disabilities, I found my disabled identity very empowering, too. Before that, I saw myself as just a weak runt all my life who couldn't do what other people could do. So now I'm disabled, chronically ill/spoonie, and I know there are plenty of people like me. And I've learned more about disability and society - rights, ableism, and how human diversity includes what's "normal for ___." (Various disabilities, especially the ones that are not immediately visible to other people.)

Thank you for your videos. I’ve been struggling with sensory overload for as long as I can remember, and it’s gotten worse with age (I am over fifty!). It’s really unfortunate that SPD doesn’t qualify as a disability. I have a service dog (for another disability) and he helps me so much with sensory overload.
