The Donald Glover scene was a crazy full circle moment. Bendis designed Miles after Donald Glover after seeing Glover dressed up as Spidey on the show Community. Glover had been sneaking in Spider-man references as part of his campaign to play Spider-man, something that started as a gag in his stand-up. Glover would later get to voice Miles in the cartoons and of course, played the MCU's Uncle Aaron in Homecoming who would later become the Prowler as you saw here. PS - Please watch Community ❤

7:46 I dont think alot of people know that much about Miguel so ill explain a few things. He was not bitten by a spider like others, he was injected with mutated spider DNA which makes him different. He doesn't have a spider sense, and he cant cling to walls very well, so that why his suit has claws. The reason why he has fangs is because of the spider DNA, his body is constantly fighting to keep him from fully transforming into a man-spider esk creature. He uses his spider fangs to paralyze his enemies.

For all those incredulous folks, at least half the Spiders aren't really trying to stop Miles from the looks of it. If anything they're obstructing his capture which is reassuring. Even when Miguel ordered them after Miles they took a whole minute just to delay for no reason. Spiders might be silly, but never dumb.

These spiderverse films are everything I have ever wanted kn a Spider-Man film being my favourite superhero every frame of this film being an art piece you could hang in a museum the Gwen arc was really well written and emotional this could become a contender for me in best animated trilogy with the Toy Story films if they nail the final film

Remember when the first movie mentioned using the collider could open up a black hole? Spot used the collider. Opened up a black hole in Pav's universe. It's not the same. Miguel's theory is not proven outside his own experience, and that's because he did something as drastic as TAKING THE PLACE OF A DEAD PERSON.

These Spider-Verse movies are on another level. Across the Spider-Verse is slightly better, in my opinion, but both are masterpieces. I give Into the Spider-verse slightly better storytelling, but Across the Spiderverse surpassed Itsv in every other category: the voice acting performances, the animation, editing, score/soundtrack, characters, antagonist, "cinematography", etc. The writing is just as good in both, so that aspect is a tie for me. If Beyond the Spider-Verse can be just as good or somehow even better, this will be by far the best superhero trilogy and one of the best trilogies. My favorite movie of the year, and I ain’t a casual that only watches superhero movies or a few movies; I am a filmmaker and screenwriter student, and I've seen like 60-70 2023 movies, and still I think Across the Spiderverse is the best movie so far.

I am also a filmmaker and screenwriting student. Into the Spider-verse (the first film), is the best animated film I have seen by every single point mentioned above. Voice acting, animation, editing, music selection and placement, score, character development and composition, antagonist design and composition, and grounding in the real world. This second film was not far behind the first, and I truly believe if Sony doesn’t rush the third- it has potential to be breathtaking. I have been watching films and TV shows since birth, but my first in person film was Jurassic Park. I have seen a few thousand professional films, and an uncountable number of “passion” projects. I rate them all on the same scale. The first film in this series, will be hard to beat on any level.

@@joshuacoldwater Hey, nice to see another fellow filmmaker and screenwriter student, but I disagree with you. Across the Spiderverse surpassed Into the Spiderverse in every aspect except storytelling, but Atsv has better voice acting performances and animation, antagonists, editing, characters, and score/soundtrack. The score and soundtrack aspects are very subjective, but I think Atsv's soundtrack and score are slightly better, and the writing is just as good in both. Prowler's score is also on Atsv, so you can't use that for Itsv, and we also have Miguel's score, which is incredible. In the soundtrack category, the best one in Itsv was Sunflower, but Hummingbird and Another Dimension surpass it for me, so Atsv also wins in that category. So for me, Atsv surpassed Itsv in almost everything, but both films are on another level. And yes, I trust all these amazing people that have worked on these films. The writers and everyone involved in these projects care about these characters and stories; they know what they are doing, and they have had a goal since the beginning of a trilogy. I know they will deliver, and it's unfortunate that the writer strike is going to push Beyond the Spiderverse even longer, but I don't care; this will be the best superhero trilogy and one of the best trilogy of all time.

Something my husband pointed out to me: in the first movie, we see the spider that bites Miles “glitching” out (the same way Miles does in the Lobby and in Prowler Miles’ universe). BUT at no point does Miles himself glitch after being bitten (ie. becoming Spider-Man). He’s been Spider-Man for 2+yrs and this never happens to him. If he were truly an anomaly (ie. If he was truly “never meant to be” Spider-Man) then his body would have been responding the same way it does when he is in a universe where he’s not supposed to be. Meaning that, in a way, they had already given the middle finger to the haters from the first movie! 😌 Miles WAS always meant to become Spider-Man. Even if perhaps the way it happened was an accident. I think we're going to find out that Miguel doesn't know as much as he thinks he does. For instance, Gwen already disrupted the "captain's death" canon event, when she saved her dad-referenced in Into the Spider-Verse-and her universe is still around. Beyond the Spider-Verse will probably turn quite a number of things on their heads!

Why would Miles glitch in his own universe? Yes the spider was glitching because it was outside its own universe. But Miles' actual body is in its own universe and hence, no reason for glitching. He has the Spider's DNA surely, but his own human DNA won't glitch in his own universe. Plus a canon event, something is supposed to happen or not, doesn't change the rules of the glitching. Even if our Miles was supposed to be Spider Man, that would not change the rules of glitching. He glitches outside his universe and does not glitch in his own. Also Gwen's dad is alive because he quit the police force. He is not going to be captain anymore. In ATSV, she said "So, you are not going to be captain anymore?". Meaning someone else who will become captain in her Dad's place is going to die. We saw what happened to Spiderman India's universe, right? It started unravelling as soon as Inspector Singh was saved.

Your DNA is literally a part of your body. They are not exclusive; that's how science works. So if the DNA causes a glitch then your body would glitch. And yes, Gwen's dad quit the force *BUT HE WAS ALREADY A CAPTAIN* before that happened. So why wasn't he killed yet? Even in the opening of the film we see Gwen rescue her father (saves him from being crushed), but when Miguel and Jessica show up it's *not* due to a cannon event regarding her dad; it's to return the Vulture to his universe. Miguel doesn't even mention Gwen saving her dad nor does he ever reprimand her for it, implying that he was never made aware of the rescue. So either his tech is super faulty *OR* he's just wrong about being made captain automatically resulting in a death sentence. And yes, we saw Inspector Singh be saved and a cannon event become disrupted *BUT* everyone forgets that an Inspector (at least in the US police system) is actually two ranks *above* Captain. It's synonymous with Detective. Meaning he became a captain and never died. Even if we compared it to Mumbai police rankings, you have to soar through 6 other rankings before reaching the first tier of Inspector. Maybe Miguel is wrong and it wasn't Inspector Singh that was supposed to die, but his daughter, Gayatri (who was also saved). Gwen Stacey dies in other Spider-Man universes so it's likely *she was the disrupted cannon event* and not her father. Not to mention, Inspector Singh isn't Pav's kin, so his death wouldn't be following the "police captain dad dies" trope anyway. @@soumyadeepmondal6130

After watching rhis movie at the theater with my kids, as a good nerd mom, we watched all spiderman movies just to have clear all rhe references, we had already watched them all and they like loes venom to rhe core but, just to explain to ma boy the easiest Easter eggs out rhere, my youngest one was like oh.. ok" while my eldest one, 8 years next Saturday, was mind-blowing and happy about the possible live action of Miles with maybe tom? ... we can definitely wait a couple of years, it would be fine or us, most for me so kids will be able to understand and enjoy this beautiful masterpieces more.. maybe also understand why i was almost crying at some scenes 😂😂 I grew up with Toby boy, I cried or Gwen, I cried when all our 3 boys were together and now I'm falling for Miles and damn Hobie???? Pavitr??? We have spidy for generations to go. Stan Lee my man, there is a spiderman in all of us. Ps. Yeah I'm that nerd. Pps. We need some Venom too. Ppps. A damn near perfect first two movies. Only gripe I have is why is Miles’ dad’s name Jefferson Davis in ‘Into The Spiderverse’ but Jeff Morales in ‘Across’?? I checked to be sure and his name tag in the first movie clearly says Davis.

I had to stop watching this reaction almost immediately. If you've forgotten everything from the last movie and get easily confused, maybe refresh your memory before watching the sequel? The constant "what's this, who's that, why are they doing that?" was exhausting and annoying.

I love that this movie really makes you think, even though you can see Miguel's pov, it's not actually Miles' fault. I mean he had no say in the matter, it was scientists doing what scientists do best... mess everything up by exploring the bounds of the world/ universe(s). And even without all that Miguel is still wrong, just because his story was messed (from something he did himself mind you) that doesn't mean that Miles' story isn't going exactly as it's supposed to. Miguel isn't God, or the creator so to speak so he really is just putting himself in that place and trying to dictate everyone

The Director said that the reveal that Miles is the first anomaly is a meta-commentary on what led to the creation of the first Black Spider-Man. Some fans believe that Miles doesn't deserve his power or belong in the mask.

I wouldn’t say “best spider-man movie” since it was all set up & filler to hype up a new film which made the movie feel incomplete & like nothing much really happened other than a few twists which all would’ve had the same effect had we waited to get those twists in the 3rd final movie.

The sad truth is that Miles will inevitably have to let his father die like every other spider-man had to let their loved ones go. I think the end of the trilogy will be Miles learning and accepting that he has to let him go, and that he just can’t save everyone like how every other spider-man learned and came to terms with.

nah , in this movie we saw that gwen’s dad is also meant to die because he’s the captain but he quits which goes against canon and her universe is fine and that’s why when he tells gwen she says “but that means” because she realizes that breaks the canon and everything is fine ..so the 3rd we will most likely learn that there is a way around canon events . they didn’t make miles escape and gwen build a team to help miles if he would just let his father die in the end . like he said in this movie “everyone keeps telling me how my story is supposed to go , nah ima do my own thing “
