Hello again from UK 🇬🇧. Still hoping to come to Sri Lanka next year with amma who is 85 and a bit frail. All depends on the Covid situation and her health. Hope you will be able to do more videos of other parts of Sri Lanka soon.... We have been watching videos of walking tours of London with all the Christmas lights... Beautiful like yours but your commentary is great and the aerial shots are fabulous.😃

Yeah hopefully they’ll come up with something attractive for the younger nomads too. Most counties are only focusing on the established nomads. Let’s hope they see your comment! 😉

It would be a great boost for economy and tourism if Srilanka becomes the next Digital nomads hub after Chiang Mai & Da Nang. But how's the inflation situation there right now? I've been wanting to conduct a motorcycle tour there but keep postponing looking at the prices of basic commodities. Do you think it's a good time for tourists to visit in the next 2-3 months?
@Sheneller3 жыл бұрын
Hey there yep it definitely would be a great additional stream of tourism for Sri Lanka. There is quite a bit of inflation in Sri lanka atm due to the currency crisis the country has had since tourism was completely shut, now that it is gradually recovering it should get a lot better. Either ways from a tourists point of view. you'll probably never get to experience Sri Lanka the way it is today raw and beautiful!

Hello, hope you answer this question. I'm a digital nomad. But I also sell handmade items online. If there was making physical products that would be my hobby. and make money too Is this still called a digital nomad? Can I still legally hold a tourist visa? If I only want to stay for 3 months
@RecoveringOverthinker3 жыл бұрын
Hello, thank you for this video! I am thinking about visiting Sri Lanka in January and trying to set up my base there for at least 2-3 months. The thing is that I am a beginner digital nomad and I've heard that Sri Lanka is more difficult for getting around than other, more well established digital nomad places. What do you say, would you recommend it to someone just starting out as a digital nomad?
@Sheneller3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! That really depends on the nature of your work as a digital nomad. If you can manage on your own. Don’t need too much of a nomad community to get started then Sri Lanka is great. If not chiang mai is probably the best for a nomad starting out. It’s where we started out too. And the community there is awesome. Not sure if they’ve recovered after covid though. In terms of quality of living. I think you’ll have much better quality here in Sri Lanka than in chiang mai cause there is so much to do and see within a very close proximity. All the best!!

@timothyappleseed298610 ай бұрын
Namely, there is a woman there who is doing some art work for me. I just wonder what her lifestyle might be like. I imagine she lives in the city. She only charges $10 for what someone in the States might charge a couple hundred dollars for. I wouldn't be able to afford the artwork if I had to pay American prices for it. And so I really appreciate the opportunity.

Learning the language helps. But knowing just a little brings its own problems. I found this out in Bavaria, where you say Gruss Gott or Guten Tag and they start talking to you high flown German which I can't make any sense of. I would rather just say Good Morning, they know I can't speak the language and accommodate for that.

As someone who stays in Sri Lanka for 2 months for the first time and did see some other parts of the world, I will say what talker didn't about the internet. It's the worst I saw in a long time (since the year 1998 with DSL cables probably), absolutely not reliable - I am speaking about 4g - that's the most convenient way for remote work and it is not suitable for some of IT nomads, depends on the amount of data required to pull and frequency of web meetings.
@IlyaG-sq8dw3 жыл бұрын
Or imagine your job involves constant learning and a lot of sources are from video files. Let's say you have a schedule of investing into work 4 hours a day, now imagine that half of it the video will be buffering, as standard quality for Sri Lankan mobile 4g is 480p and below, above it will buffer (480p is not enough if the video was filmed in high res desktop resolution, the text will not be readable). So yes, if you're the one who doesn't have to interact with people over web meetings or to work with a huge amount of data expect to sit near the computer 2x more due to slow connection.

Hello! I’m considering to move in Sri Lanka for about 3 months or more. Can you please give me piece of advice what is the best option to find good long-term rental offers?
@Sheneller3 жыл бұрын
Hey there. It's best to come down stay in an Airbnb for a week and explore the local area for a good deal that you are comfortable with. If not it's a little hard to find long term accommodation online atm. When do you plan coming down?
