147 Megabits (Mbps) per second download is pretty darn good. = 18.37 MegaBytes (MBps). Out in the middle of nowhere! What was the upload speed out there? That's what you need to know if uploading videos. Just tested my fixed, NBN, Fibre To The Home & today it is getting 53.28 Mbps download and 18.34 Mbps upload. I pay for 50 down/20 up, so it's not bad...good enough for my purposes. The hardware was cheap! Usually only $199 for fixed rural properties, so you did well! The bugbear for me is the monthly cost. I pay $65 per month for unlimited access. $178 is pushing it too far for me, unfortunately. Goodonya guys!

Nice! Yeah the monthly cost is a bit steep isnt it! But yeah we are glad it is fast! The upload speed has been between 20 and 30 :)

Perfectly timed video.. we're thinking of doing the same! Has it consistently drawn under 3amps? Let us know how you go in rural areas.

It does go up to 4amps at times i have noticed - we don't leave it on over night or anything, we really just use it when we need it, so it hasnt been to much of an issue power wise. The only issue we have come across is using it when there are a lot of obstructions, national park camping is usually too many trees haha

@@Seaustravl Ohhh that is interesting! So it can't be in the way of trees? Needs a clear line to connect to other satellites?? Do you know if the weather impacts the connection?

That sounds fantastic! How did you manage to get the hardware for $199? We are travelling in September and would love to get the hardware at that price but it’s only for rural areas 😢

You sign up using a rural address and once you get a shipping notification, you change it from rural to mobile/roam, that way you get the discount. The hardware is all the same. :)
