Enjoyed the WIFI, but Starlink's customer service is close to worthless. Had it not been for Mr. J Christina's videos I would not have figured out how to "communicate" with Starlink. The email and thumbs down method gave me access, but Starlink's responses to simple questions were ridiculous ! After 3 months I sold my "Roam" gear and transferred my serial # etc to someone else using the excellent videos After reading other comments below, I can see that the monthly cost will continue to rise and make it prohibitive. I don't do a lot of streaming or downloading so my phone carriers WIFI (Mint) is just fine. I also see I paid $100 more through Starlink to buy my gear, when I could have purchased through Best Buy !

We agree with you. It took us 7 days to hear back from Starlink the first time we had issues with our Starlink. The second time, it took 10 day to hear back. Hi Jeff. We have only used Starlink for RV. We never used the residential service with portability. Starlink for RV allows us to pause the service for a month or more if we are not traveling and so not needing the satellite service(we have T-Mobile Home Internet at our house). I don't think you can pause the residential service in the same way.

Great demo. Is starlink and the wires waterproof? Can one leave starlink outside in the cold or extreme hot weather? I am pretty certain I will be purchasing one of these in the future.👍 I figure by then, starlink will have ironed out all the kinks in the system. Also, my only concern is protecting the roof-mounted starlink panel from hail.

Hi Sandra. Both the Starlink and wires are waterproof. They can be left outside in all weathers, extreme hot or cold. When we were at Death Valley, it was very cold and extremely windy at night. The Starlink dish got blown over a few feet even after we secured it with rocks. It survived with one scratch.

Router Wifi real world test, 1:14pm Pacific Time Zone, Tucson, AZ. 3/10/2023 At 100 feet away, with the router in the RV with slider open, and through bushes and cactus - full signal strength(three bars), 14 Mpbs down/5.6 Mbps up. Next to the router in the RV - full signal strength(three bars), 148 Mbps down/10.5 Mbps up. Tests were run within 1 minute of each other.

Yes, we have. It does not work. It has to have a clear view of the sky. We have had to ask for a different campsite at times. You can have a tree of two at a campsite so long the dish can point toward north without obstruction.
