Starlink is half the price in Europe. It is because we do not have the big grift were companies decide the politics. I live on a remote island 50km from the nearest city. Here I have fiber internet because the government is sponsoring rural internet where it is less profitable or at a loss. Fiber costs 60$, roughly the same as Starlink here, but with better performance.

It will probably be a long time before prices drop, if they ever drop in the US. Reason why it's so expensive is because they know people will pay for it. It's as simple as that. There just isn't enough competition to drive the price down. This is also why it's so much cheaper in Europe. For starts Europe has a very condensed population. This means that basically anywhere you go you have fiber internet. That's why Starlink offers it's services for reduced rates over there, they essentially have to try and compete with fiber. I'm hoping prices come down, I would love to set my mom who lives off the grid with solid internet, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. It's also sad that they have increased prices. I feel that's kinda scummy of them. Almost like drug dealers. They gave you a taste of good internet off the grid for an okay price. Once they got you hooked you, they jacked the price up, and reduced the speeds.

For sure! Definitely some solid points you made :)

You’re rambling without any knowledge about Starlink cost. SpaceX spends an approximate cost of $1000 to manufacture each satellite dish, yet they offer these dishes for $500, resulting in a 50% loss per satellite sold. This is a key reason why the monthly pricing for Starlink internet service is around $120, which is relatively competitive compared to other satellite internet providers, some of whom charge as much as $150 per month. SpaceX has also told about their intention to lower internet subscription costs as they reduce the satellite dish manufacturing expenses and expand their user base.

Starlink has no CONS . We live out in nowhere and we have a 60 foot tower we use for everything . We put Starlink on the top and it’s fine. Like I said no cons . If you have cons you’re not trying to fix it and have it up wrong .
@Fire_ems385 ай бұрын
Everyone doesn’t have access to a 60 foot tower if that was the case then you would probably find very little negative feedback about the service the videos I’ve watch people honestly do the best they can what they have to work with and still either have no issues or have some or lots of issues so I’ll say this Starlink isn’t for everyone

Current service is $120/month, so 10 years would be $14,400. Highly unlikely that they would do that or give you a "multi-year" price break because that locks them in at that price for 10 years. They want to be able to go up on you...

Very nice video, I'm curious if you've ever seen how Starlink would compare with a MIMO LPDA or/and Yagi antennas setup for a 4G unlimited plan. Well since I'm not living in the US (I'm French) I don't know if there are good unlimited 4G plan there, but here in France it is a good very competitive option, and for upload specifically it's really great, you can easily get more than 30mb/s and without spending so much for the equipment.

Hi Interesting point you raise there about the international costs. I suspect it could be for two reasons. The first is that Europe is generally more compact than America. So l guess they would need less satellites to cover a place like France, whereas they would need significantly more for the US. Secondly issues such as population density may be an issue, the more people in one area mean the costs per head go down, hence it is possible to offer them such prices. Lastly it could be just that in France there is more competiion and options. So they cannot price themselves out of the market, then again it could be an introductory price, meaning in the future it will rise. It could also be that in the US the average customer is much wealthier so the price will not be the same. Anyway l am just guessing l do not know for a fact.
