My girlfriend had Starlink installed at her farm in Mindanao. The speed is supposed to be pretty good and service is like $50 usd per month. As we’re both still living in the U.S., her dad and the workers on the farm are enjoying it 😂. One of our friends has a mobile version of Starlink because he travels around the Philippines. The speed isn’t as good as the home version, but it’s still ok.

Greg, you can paint that black wire that shows when it is turning from one plastic conduit into the other, this way it blends in and not show up (black) as much...since you are a perfectionist :) I took another look in the metal piece that the Starlink is attached, it looks like it can collect some water? maybe you should dril a hole or too, so te water can run out.

@am-fil4 ай бұрын
I will be doing the same with Starlink. I am sure you have seen a couple KZbin builders who have made the comments about poor quality builders that have concrete cracks later. But only one year old? You mentioned one of them. He said, if the concrete is slumped and mixed with the proper ratios, there will be no cracks, ever. And so far, he has had zero cracks. More and more I begin to be convinced that I better use AAC block (Starken).
@buildingthephilippines4 ай бұрын
Depends on what type/where the cracks are. All concrete cracks, all. Even when you render the AAC, that rendering will have cracks. Control joints, cracks will in the the control joint, you don't see them, but there are there. Structural cracking to weaken structure, shouldn't happen. Surface cracks are in all homes.
@peteswanson-j4i4 ай бұрын
hairline cracks are common, especially in the finish layer. if they are big enough to fit an american dime in they are from some issue with concrete mix, ratio or curing properly. usually those appear after 10 or 12 years.

In the US I used Starlink for about 1year before fiber was made available to my neighborhood. I covered my wire with a wiring loom. It cheap and offers protection from UV . I also want to protect it from rodents chewing the wire which can occur here in Florida and other places. I was happy with the performance of the Starlink. Didn’t like the $120 per month price or the initial price of the equipment ($599).

@buildingthephilippines4 ай бұрын
@user-zc3zx5bx9x roof is pitched 5 degrees, panels pitched 10 degrees the other way or 5 degrees southeast. We are close to the equator, so I guess that makes sense.

You cornered the market on the Easy Nail 😂🤣 Those square conduit runners make your install look cleaner and more professional! Too bad everyone else can't figure that out! Almost every house we've seen has wires running all over the place, begging to be snagged and ripped out. 🤔 I would still install some angle brackets under your mounting plate. Eventually the wind will loosen up the screws going into the concrete. It may take several years, but better safe than sorry? I agree with your gate installer; better to reinforce the gate. There will be a lot of torque on the gate, with the opener, and after time, could twist, or pull out the mounting. KZbin University? I guess we can start calling you Professor Greg? 😂🤣 Since many of us are watching and taking notes on your build and improvements 😉
