I thank you folks at Microjig for having Steve Ramsey make this video. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and thoroughly missed his weird quirky and lovely micro jig spots that he used to have. This makes me insanely happy. And makes me want to go to micro jig gripper to go super slim zvelt trim young thing whatever

I’ve been watching Steve since he first started on KZbin. He has always been amuzing while still getting the point across about the Gripper. I myself am 73 and have had a pair of (full figured plus size) grippers that I won on a woodworking thing long ago. I really do use them on “almost" every cut I make on my tablesaw. Once when I wasn’t using my grippers, I got over confident and unfortunatly did lose large parts of two fingers while making a dado cut. Have I cut into the green grippy stuff, yea but they still work great. Maybe someday I’ll fix that…haha.

72 years young and still have all my fingers. have used the micro jig products for a long time with grr-rippers everywhere in the shop. think about safe setup, workflow, and never work tired or distracted. they have saved me many times as i 'learned ' from poor choices.

Once, I was measuring inside a wardrobe and stood up before my head was out. Bonk! Pretty sure I had a concussion. In my stupid state, I kept working. I set up my next cut with the circular saw and started cutting. As soon as the blade hit the wood, I heard a tiny voice on my head ask “where are your hands?” One was on the saw. The other was holding the would-be off cut with my fingers in the line of fire. The advice not to work tired or distracted, in other words, remember that the project will still be there tomorrow, is highly underrated. 😅 I just bought the little guy in this video. Can’t wait to safely use it! You know, after a good night’s sleep.

I started watching Steve in 2012. Bought my first Microjig product (the gripper) because of his videos. I was just making groves in a drawer to accept the bottom and this would have been handy to have. And thanks for the discount code.

I started my Microjig love because of Steve. The GRR-RIPPER was my first Microjig tool. I have two of them. It was also the first tool I bought that was prompted by a youtube influencer. I also have the Tapering Jig, the whole matchfit setup, lots of the dovetail clamps (HINT... they also work great on my MFT table), zero play miter bars and lots of the matchfit dovetail hardware items. Great products. And always love watching Steve.

Thanks Steve, I took advantage of the deal since I make coasters and most of my cuts are thin.
@eyesalooking Жыл бұрын
I recently bought a tablesaw on sale with the purpose of cutting some thin stock but forgot how dangerous it can be so I started looking for a push block and found the GRR-Ripper 2Go that I purchased. After watching several YT videos I decided to buy the big daddy one that will get here ina couple of days. I have a Festool track saw with all of the various size tracks and a chop saw but decided that a tablesaw would be easier to use for thin cuts.
@Microjig Жыл бұрын
The GRR-RIPPER 100 and 200 are certainly more capable that the GRR-RIPPER 2GO. The 2GO is a great entry into the GRR-RIPPER family of 3D Push Blocks, but moving to the GR100 or 200 is a natural step.

Long time fan of Steve and Grippers. I bought my Grippers based on his suggestion and always feel safe at the table saw using them. I saw the To-Go for the first time in one of his recent videos and had to find out more about it.

I have a micro jig and use it occasionally. What I find is that the rubber gripper gets coated with sawdust and no longer grips well enough to keep the board from slipping or getting out of line. I have tried cleaning it with mineral spirits but it quickly gets recovered with sawdust.
@Microjig Жыл бұрын
Doug, regular sawdust is not the issue, that literally just wipes off. You CAN get wax, pitch and resin build up on the bottoms which will cause slipping. We ONLY recommend denatured or rubbing alcohol for cleaning the Green Grip Material on your GRR-RIPPERs. Try cleaning them with alcohol, and if that does not solve your problem, contact me directly at support@microjig.com and I will help you solve the problem- Ralph

Steve I must admit I turn and I enjoy the results of the different pens. While I like the full sized gripper, I do like the convenience of the ripper to go for the small blanks. Did include your name on the registration with Gripper. I must admit while I have owned the gripper since its introductory I still use it today. Oh yes, I also have made some mistakes with the first gripper, but all of my fingers and thumbs are intact; however, not so much for the replaced gripper. Better the gripper than my limbs. I also like you humor in your videos. Have been watching you since the first few videos. PLEASE keep up the great productions.

@Microjig26 күн бұрын
Tim, you can use the GR 2GO with the GRR-RIPPER, but I really recommend that when using two GRR-RIPPERs together, they should be set up the same. It is a safety thing, with both the same, you do not need to worry about which hand will finish the cut, so you can focus on the task.

What a shame... If I try to order they want 40€ (45$) for shipping to germany. Sure my fingers are worth more, but this is just too pricey. Once more, being a German prohibits me from buying cool/good stuff for woodworking as it just costs too much.
