The actual reason they didn’t use the Ferraria isn’t because of the rivalry between Mattel and ferraria. It’s because Ferreira is very particular about who gets to use their license, so only one company can use it at a time. At the time Dino was released, Mattel owned the license.

Clear plastic is honestly an automatic dealbreaker. ER Wheeljack, Dropkick and Concept Camaro Bumblebee have taught me never to buy a figure that uses any clear plastic outside of non-transformation aesthetic pieces like Starscream's canopy and Cyclonus' windows.

Car licenses no matter the company don’t cost more than the other, Ferrari is just extremely careful with who they license to, so Hasbro couldn’t get it. Most likely Transform being a line about war.

I bought this figure and first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box is that the left wing kept flopping because the hinge sucks. I dunno if it's because of the clear plastic but that would make sense that it was already cracked. I wouldn't recommend this figure to anyone at all

I just found him today at Walmart (there were 6 of him, to my suprise!), and I'm super impressed with how well he was pulled off. Articulation is pretty "meh", but that goes for most of SS. Probably my favourite SS deluxe, definitely up there with 51 Soundwave and 28 Barricade in terms of accuracy. More DOTM Hasbro!

Surprisingly this was not hard to find here in Invercargill. Dino was everywhere and he was a shelf warmer. I got mine as a gift and I frakking love him.

Cool review dude. I love this figure although I give it an 8/10 as it’s not perfect and it’s likely the hype of finally having a proper official figure of this guy kinda like with the Studio Series Crowbar, and just like Crowbar, it’s still awesome nonetheless. I actually have a fun fact about Ferrari, my friend is obsessed with cars so this knowledge comes from him. Apparently the people who run Ferrari are super greedy and so was the company’s founder, Enzo Ferrari. Apparently he was a total jerk and that is actually how Lamborghini was founded to compete against Ferrari because Enzo was a jerk. So they were probably really greedy and wanted an unfair amount of the profits so Hasbro just went with a different car. It’s really cool that Hasbro based the car mode off of the game, I personally really like the game, it was developed by High Moon Studios, every Transformers game they’ve made has been good. I personally would love to see characters specifically from that game in Studio Series like Warpath, Silverbolt, Air Raid, Breakaway, the design for Soundwave was exclusive to that game too, and I’d love for them to make like a Titan Class Stratosphere that can fit SS-32 Optimus Prime in the cargo bay. Man that’d be awesome.

I thought the licensing issue is that Ferrari is already in a licensing deal with Mattel, which Hasbro is a rival of. If Ferrari entered an agreement with Hasbro, it could harm their current agreement with Mattel, and agreement which is extremely profitable as Mattel can pump out endless different Ferrari Hit Wheels and Matchbox cars until the end of time, and Hasbro could only release this single figure for so long. I guess that would mean Ferrari would want to ensure that they would not face monetary loss after making such an agreement for a long time, so that would mean they would ask for much more money from Hasbro, making it very expensive, but I thought it was just Ferrari not being willing to make an agreement with Hasbro under any circumstances.

Ok I'm not gonna lie, when I first saw this figure, I never liked it. Well I liked it on what it is but, I felt the same way as what I felt with brawl. I liked it on what it is but not liked it enough, probbly because of the innacuracies and most notably that vehicle mode. But upon knowing it's based off of the video game avatar, that completely changed my mind. Now, I liked everything about this figure, I finally now see the beauty that I once cannot see. I've only seen B-127 from this wave. If Shatter and Dropkick are still searching, they can find 2 Deluxe B-127 figures at my local Books-A-Million. There was one at my local Target, but I think Blitzwing or Optimus may have gotten to him already. In short, distribution is as difficult in New Hampshire as it is in Canada. Thankfully, I was somehow able to find this dude on Amazon for his MSRP, so that was an interesting outlier.

Certain reviewers are getting toys stolen from the factories early and reviewing them, the tell tale signs are they have no packaging, the reviews are out waaaay before the figure comes out (sometimes even before it officially gets revealed), they don't mention how/where they got it early and avoid those questions in their comments, etc.

Why does everyone keep complaining about clear plastic hinges? I havent had any breakage from those on any of the more modern figures, and I'm not exactly delicate with my figures. So I don't get it.

they dont withstand the test of time. My ss86 Hot Rod's clear hinge was busted out of the box, same with ER wheeljacks windshield hinge, and my ER ratchet's hinge broke too. All thin clear plastic.

yeah. figures that are in "early reviews" arent bought at retail or sent by hasbro (cause hasbro doesnt do that). factory workers steal the initial shots of the figures from qc and sell them to the early reviewers for a markup
