So, I'm a white male from what I think is a fairly average background. I'm confused by this issue a little. What I find really strange is that the Conservative party front bench looks very diverse but acts like a white supremacy gang

White supremacy isn't just for white people.. White supremacy is about power and the culture of that power.. These brown and black people see themselves as better than the rest of us, they see themselves as the exception, the special class that will have a different set of standards.. They usually also don't like the poor..

If you're referring to Braverman, just for the record, Christie Fernandes (her father) was not "virtually kicked out" of Kenya. Like many from the Goan community in Kenya, his family left the country in the years following independence; his siblings elected to go to Goa (India); he chose to come to the UK. In all her narratives - verbal or written - Braverman is deliberately vague on this because she has no choice but to obfuscate; she knows it would otherwise be an outright lie.

P.O.C have always known and experienced this phenomena. In Britain they call such people coconuts brown on the outside and white inside. Meaning they advance in society through an internalization of the dominant in this case white ideology. These individuals don't identity with the struggles of other POC rather the see themselves as the model immigrant and inherently superior. The PM is Hindu and comes from a context that rigidly maintains the caste system. I don't think he will lose much sleep over policies that exacerbate the situation of the marginalized and vulnerable in society.

@@trytellingthetruth.2068 What is it about the reference to the struggles of POC that you object to and request to receive special favours for? Can't differential opportunities and outcomes in employment, health and criminal justice be considered struggles if one is more likely to face them solely on the basis of skin colour. Which word would you prefer for this statistically documented and officially acknowledged phenomenon? Should we call it something else, if it upsets you? Or do you, on the contrary, reject such evidence, and if so, might your moniker about telling the truth be invoking a rather peculiar notion of truth that rejects reason and evidence?

@@oblodoblodob The racial discrimination act is there to ensure no such struggles are allowed. If you have proof that people have been discriminated against purely on the basis of the skin colour, then those responsible should be reported. I do however know of one instance where someone was passed over for a job because of their skin colour. He was white and the company offering the job had to ensure POC were equally represented. So because of that, the black gentleman who was less qualified, got the job. Swings and roundabouts spring to mind.

Yes, we also have immigrants who come here, then their children get into a position of power then they become followers of white supremacist ideology. They are most often conservatives. Peculiar how to conserve means to remain the same, unchanging. Yet they’re able to emigrate to the USA because lot of black people and white progressives fought for the change. It’s like they don’t understand or don’t care that the people that they show the most contempt for are the ones who made it possible for them to come here. The comments about Sunak are particularly interesting to me. Baroness Warsi suggests he looked uncomfortable when asked about this rhetoric and I think she’s right, he doesn’t seem as happy to go down this route as many of his colleagues. But he is still going down this route which suggests to me that Sunak is not in charge of his cabinet at all. I get the impression that he’s been allowed to be PM as long as he doesn’t interfere with the real task in hand, the one Braverman has been put up to execute. The country is being run by people in the shadows, Braverman is the agent and Sunak is the enabler.

Sunak knows a powerful portion of his mps and a majority of the members don't want him and they can sink his leadership of they want, by making him a lame duck if they don't just try and oust him officially. So he is weak and needs to pander to them and Braverman is their favourite right now. He is weak but that doesn't excuse him for going along with it

Most of the brown people in the UK's government; and especially those with Indian backgrounds, have all been children of those elite Indians, that were installed by the British administration to administer the UK's African colonies. These British Indian administrator, were both versed in state and commercial administration. Their objective was to make the UK's African colonies grow and tame the local natives. However, WW2 and the subsequent independence of the UK's colonies, upset the UK's colony strategy and most of the Indian administrator im/migrated; not to India but, to the UK. And Braverman, Patel and Sunak are all children of this former Indian-African elites. So you can draw your own conclusion when it comes to Braverman's altitude to the plight of refugees.

Is Suella Braverman shielded from stronger criticism due to her race? Let me help you out here: YES. Braverman is an obedient little brown house girl. She has found a nice little niche; she knows there is always a spot for the complicit. I'm tired of people like her (and Sunak, and Clarence Thomas, and Kwarteng, and Nikki Haley, etc.) not being called out simply because they are of the race that they seek to oppress. Braverman would see every brown person in the world in a cage if it meant her income went up 1%.

When in 2020, during the BLM protests, protestors here in Bristol pulled down the statue of Edward Colston and threw it into the harbour, I as a white European (not Brit, but here since 1991) rejoiced at the act and marvelled at the symbolism of it all. Since then, quite an awkward conversation with another white Bristolian who argued it was vandalism ensued, he said Bristol owes a lot to Colston in terms of the man's historic endowments. I had lived in Colston Street, next door to Colston Hall and Colston Tower, walked past Colston's High school for Girls and had walked past that statue thousands of times without a moment's thought about what it meant to people of colour who also walk past that statue, that school, that street. And perhaps I should keep shtum. But then I remembered what encouraged me at the time was who protested at the time: they were white, black, brown, old, young, people fed up all across the board. It's not the skin colour, it's about justice.

You might be white and you may not have experienced racism first hand, but the colour of your skin doesn't prevent you from understanding the definition of racism. I think this redefinition of racism being only possible from a white person to a person of colour is insidious as it opens the door to the now widely practiced occurrence of appalling comments openly directed at white people, for simply being white. The very thing we're told should never be done to judge a person based solely on their skin colour. You also mentioned the scenario of a black guy writing an article which contradicts your point of view and it being held up as the view of all black people. The irony being that this is exactly what is put forward in popular discourse in reverse, as if all people of colour think as some kind of uniformed hive mind. Everyone's an individual and the colour of your skin doesn't automatically mean you're for or against anything. Everyone should be respected equally, or at least based on merit.

No person on this planet is immune from discrimination be skin colour, body shape, vertically challenged, bad teeth, hair colour and texture and the list is endless. Media has a problem because supporters and opponents never see the bigger picture. Lived in various countries and interacted with high and low society. In Nigeria they call each other the black one -was shell shocked to hear that. But there are shades of that colour too was my thought

@@agnescraig2912 But you didn't take into account that Nigeria was colonised by white people either. And the impact of that doesn't go away when the colonisers allow it to become independent. Divide and Rule was always the strategy, and skin colour, especially when the colonisers had children with the colonisers, was an easy way to employ that strategy. Those standards become imprinted on cultural norms. This is why bleaching skin creams, that are carcinogenic, are used amongst people of colour, and the media, and society at large reinforces those beauty standards. In that sense, slavery and colonisation never ended, despite efforts by progressive people to challenge those ideas for decades. And it's killing people, as the attempt in the US to ban hair straightening products containing carcinogens and hormone disruptors is backed up by science. Human beings are complex creatures, but our nature can be weaponised against our own welfare. So, don't be surprised at what you experienced in Nigeria. Franz Fanon wrote about these issues in his books. You might find them enlightening.

Surely the biggest problem with cruella, is how utterly horrible her policies are towards people. And she is supposed to be a people acting for people. Never mind colours. She is horrible to people. Lots of them. The ones that need the most help. And she seems to revel in ways to keep being horrible to people.

The Tories have ran out of ideas and we in Scotland knew this decades ago, a smug party with smug ideas and i will continue to fight for my ancient nation to leave this UK and rejoin our European family as an independent nation. I do not dislike Brexit Britain ,it is much stronger than that
