This is the first episode from 'doubt-proof' series.
In this first episode, we explore an ayah where the Quran switches from singular to plural, causing a 'seeming' mistake, but is it really?
PLEASE share the video as much as you can to spread the word and share the ajer in shaa Allah ...

Also I remember I read somewhere that their light is singular (نورهم), While on the other hand darkness is plural (ظلمات); this indicates that there's only one light, one path to the truth which is their faith, while on the other hand there are many false paths, darkness indicates their Blasphemy and misguidance. And Allah سبحانه وتعالى knows best. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى guide us to his straight path, Amen.

Hafs an Asim's fifty-two turuk differences in twenty-two types of Tajwid. Are the rules that it has within the ten qirat of Mutawatir similar to the rules of Tajwid?Or they are mutawatir even though they are inside the qirat of Hafs an Asim

An interesting example of what some people might claim is a grammatical and theological error is in surah 3 ayah 45. The ayah uses a singular feminine verb (qaalat) in reference to a group of angels - not just one. But that's because angels are only LINGUISTICALLY feminine (just like many nouns like trees and cars), and non-human plurals are regarded as a singular feminine.

Sir, Your programs helps me a lot but I have 1 request in this Doubt Proof Program is that- Many people and even imams tells Surah Fatihah is 7 Ayat including Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. But, other side of people thinks the last 2 Ayats from (chiratol...olladollin) separated. Can you clear that confusion? ❤
@tahaali2732
@tahaali2732 3 ай бұрын
It depends what qira'ah you're referring to. In qira'ah of Hafs 'An Aasim the bismillah is part of surah Fatiha but in Warsh 'An Nafi' the bismillah is not part of it, and instead the last ayah is split into two so that we still get seven ayat. But in either case it is still the same surah Fatiha. It is quite amazing that we still get seven ayat either way, because this means the following ayah in the Qur'an is never contradicted: And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. (Surah Hijr 15:87)

Is it also possible that the plural in the end refers to the people talked about in the ayah(s) before as mathaluhum is already in the plural refering to those afroementioned?
@mrbadiuzzaman
@mrbadiuzzaman 3 ай бұрын
Yes. I was about to make the same point. The singular example is to illustrate that any individual within the group would encounter the same experience. Therefore collectively as a group too they would be similarly affected.

Great explanation, but you didn’t explain ما حوله why’s it still in singular form since you have mentioned the kindled fire affects everyone around the fire. Yet, Allah uses singular form instead of plural (ما حولهم(.

To me it seems that aya started with plural. It compared plural to a singular and ended with plural. Starting with مثلهم it was always referring to a plural entity
@majedalrasheed3314
@majedalrasheed3314 3 ай бұрын
The brother said this but indirectly in the video , he said it was comparing a situation of the hypocrites to one who lights a fire so it is inferred from مثلهم just like you said and how the brother explained it in the video

I never seen this seen as a mistake It starts with “their example” and then Allah presents the example of the one who kindles a flame. Then the light is taken away affecting them (the “their” group from the beginning) leaving them in darkness In context this makes perfect sense and the linguistic explanations adds further depth
@Adnan_Khan__111
@Adnan_Khan__111 2 ай бұрын
Idk but what is the example really about ? What does this example emphasize?
@Mohamed--Aden
@Mohamed--Aden 2 ай бұрын
@@Adnan_Khan__111 it kinda means someone who received revelation from God, then chose to ignore it and stay within their ignorance. Thus Allah wills what they wanted and they become of those in the dark as a consequence. So imagine someone who lit a flame and it brightened everything for them (so they saw the truth and knew the truth but refused to acknowledge it) and suddenly woooosh the flame goes out (their choice to refuse it, is the flame going out by the will of Allah, Allah took this light away as that is what they wanted) and they are left in darkness, unable to see (as they chose to, Allah made it that way. They are unable to see the truth due to their insincerity. All that is left for them is darkness)

Then what about the THEY could not see, now the fire is not around him to make the statement to turn into plural i was hoping the sentence THEY could not see will soon turn to be HE could not see. Since the fire is not around him again and Allah had taken it away from THEM, that is when the fire was around him. This gramatical explanation is that the way the Arabs daily communicate?? Let say i am cooking food then someone sees me and takes the food So according to the grammarical structure used here one have to say someone took ( their food ) which this their is referring to me and the food i was cooking ?? And (THEY ) referring to me and the food that is no longer with me, were left with nothing?? Why now the food is not with me the sentence doesn't make me claim the singular pronoun which is then SHE was left with no food to cook?

It's called "The Royal We" : The royal we, majestic plural (pluralis majestatis), or royal plural is the use of a plural pronoun (or corresponding plural-inflected verb forms) used by a single person who is a monarch or holds a high office to refer to themselves. A more general term for the use of a we, us, or our to refer to oneself is nosism. | Ref - Wikipedia
