Love from Estonia, right back at you. Every summer i've noticed the influx of our Finnish family to our beaches, especially Pärnu. Don't get me wrong, you're super welcome, but I was wondering, why is that so? Is there something special about Pärnu for Finns or is it that you guys don't have good beaches? Always wondered about that :)

I am Estonian, a Tallinner. I do not like the people in Pärnu. They are kind of mean, especially behind your back. Tallinners may not be so nice to your face, but what you see is what you get. In Pärnu it is one thing how people behave, and they behave well. And as soon as you turn your back, they will start talking ill about you. I used to go to Pärnu hospital because the waiting lines were shorter. And while I waited for my appointment behind the registration desk, I heard the people working there comemnting on absolutely everyone they had just been nice to on the phone. It was disgusting to listen to. I actually went to tell them that, by the way, I can hear you. As a city, architecturally, Pärnu is nice, interesting, very different from Tallinn. Welcome to Tallinn though, it is much nicer. Enough of the Riviera:)

Pärnu is nice because of its architecture. I think so, as a Tallinner. Pärnu is different from Tallinn. Every town in Estonia is quite distinct. I like to walk around in Pärnu and just look at the houses. They are so randomly put together, in a good way. As for beaches. I don"t think any city beach is good. Beaches are good in nature, in the wild. And we have enough wild beaches.@@ONWorldTravel

But like vending machine and machine coffees are a bit cheaper (machine coffees from gas station with your own thermos cup is more cheaper). It’s literally in the law that both individuals who are getting married must personally appear before the civil registrar at the same time… Perekonnaseadus § 7. Abielu sõlmimise kord (2) Abielu sõlmitakse eeldusel, et abiellujad väljendavad isiklikult ja ühel ajal kohal viibides perekonnaseisuametniku ees oma tahet sõlmida abielu. (11) For the purposes of Part 1 of this Act, vital statistics officials include notaries and ministers of religion who are entitled to perform vital statistics procedures pursuant to the Vital Statistics Registration Act. [RT I, 29.06.2014, 3 - entry into force 09.07.2014] (2) A marriage is contracted provided that prospective spouses express their will to contract marriage before a vital statistics official both being present in person at the same time. (3) The vital statistics official confirming the contraction of marriage shall ask both prospective spouses whether they want to contract marriage with the other party. A declaration of intention to contract marriage shall be unconditional. (4) If both prospective spouses answer yes, the vital statistics official shall declare that as of this moment both parties are legal spouses. (5) The vital statistics official shall enter the contraction of marriage in the population register pursuant to the procedure provided for in the Vital Statistics Registration Act.

Estonians are a Finnic tribe.. they are culturally and genetically different than the majority of Europeans and migrated nomadically all the way from the area that’s now China. They roamed all the way across Siberia to land on the Baltic, northwest russia and Finland. I think this plays into their introspection and introversion. Also I find it very interesting how quickly they developed European features like blonde hair and blue eyes when some of their related tribes have very Asian look. Sure they have been conquered by German crusaders and in modern times absorbed into Russia but the old Estonian word for slave was “Aryan” and they were actually raiders of the Vikings lands.

As a native estonian I must say, what a misleading comment this is. Estonians are part of Finno-Ugric group of people. And estonian word for a slave is ORI and not ARYAN. From a language perspective finnish is the closest and easiest to learn and understand compared to any other finno-ugric language.

Its now most expensive country in Europe with low salaries. Inflation here is crazy
@ONWorldTravel4 ай бұрын
Wow, didn’t know about that. I’m not surprised though, as it was kinda pricey.
@Alexander-t97l3 ай бұрын
1. It's not the most expensive in Europe. There are higher prices on goods and services in Finland, Sweden, Germany and dozens of other European countries. 2. It's you're problem if you have a low salary as a janitor or cashier.

The part about staring at shoes? It's a literal translation of an estonian joke about estonians. Don't try to be fake offended on someone else's behalf, it's offensive.

as an estonian, it wasnt offensive

Its so beauteful! Too bad that their climate is mostly winter, and very cruel winter with a very very short summer. If they had the Portugal climate... Estonia could be the best country in the world

Sorry to disappoint the spectators here, but in Russia we have all the examples of the modern amenities with all these electric scooters or couriers, what not. The USA has banned us from visting Europe so we are bound to make an Eastern Europe, which is as good as the Western one, a better place for ourselves.

@henrikmanitski1061 Жыл бұрын
It’s not the fault of the scooters, but the fault of lazy and inconsiderate people who leave them in the middle of the path.
@ESTMNGR Жыл бұрын
Like he said, it's because of the lazy people. I park mine on the side of the road, couldn't live without the scooters anymore :D it saves me a lot of time going to places and is easy to use.

Tallinn does not look nice, it looks tasteless and the standard of living is low. Tallinn is a small city. The suburbs of Vilnius are like Tallinn, only more beautiful. Vilnius is the largest and most beautiful city of Baltic States❤

I was in Vilnius 4 years ago, airport, sidewalks etc were awful and broke. Tasteless buildings, everything felt poor. Salaries in Estonia are much higher than in Lithuania. Tallinn is nordic, Vilnius is eastern europe.
@dariuso6190 Жыл бұрын
@@944Henri Firstly, Vilnius is a Western European city. Vilnius was built by Germans and Italians, the architecture is typical of Western Europe - Baroque and Gothic. Secondly, the average salary and the minimum salary in Lithuania are higher than in Estonia. Third, the Old Town of Tallinn is super small, just a few streets. The rest of Tallinn was built during the occupation of the Russian Empire and USSR. Tallinn is much more similar to Russian cities and not at all similar to the cities of Scandinavia or Nordic countries.

@@944Henri Do you think that Estonia is somehow similar to the Nordic countries? It's not at all. Estonian cities and especially Tallinn are very similar to Russian cities and nothing like Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland or Denmark
