Is Taylor Hendricks Almost Ready For The Jazz?

In this video we discuss the recent outburst game by Taylor Hendricks on the Salt Lake City Stars. He managed to be called up with the shorthanded Utah Jazz roster missing Lauri Markkannen and Kelly Olynyk. He managed to have 18 minutes of action and managed 5 points while shooting 2-7 from the field and 1-4 from the 3pt line to go along with 2 rebounds and 2 blocks. Brighter days are ahead.

Their unavailability for Summer League really hurt both Taylor and Brice and it shows. You brought up a good point about Taylor Hendricks and John Collins. Its obvious that Collins and Kessler have some work to do when they play together, if Hendricks and Kessler prove more viable on the court together along with Lauri, we may have a front court dilemma to go with our guard dilemma.

Agreed, the front court dilemma would be much nicer of a situation due to an abundance of talent compared to the limited effective seasonings we have to cook with in the guard category

@@wraithhoops clearly the best player on the floor (i guess to be expected), but he shot the lights out from 3 (i think 6-7?) and showed good mobility and decent rebounding.

Hendricks (38% fr 3) at the small ball 5 with Lauri (38% fr 3) and Collins (40% fr 3) would open up things for our drive to the rim heavy guys like THT, JC, Dunn, and Sexton. He offers athleticism, youth, and high defensive IQ. Just needs to bulk up a bit

I agree and sexton might be the most immediately benefitted from that situation looking at it from a personal scoring standpoint and as far as team scoring I think Dunn would make the most of the opportunity

I’m very high on Walker’s interior defense and Hendricks perimeter defense meshing well together. I hope their defensive ceiling is as high as Rudy’s and Royce’s

It will be higher for Taylor Hendricks because he is 6'9 Royce was only 6'4-5 and Taylor is more athlete and can shoot that thing. I also think Walker will be as good as Rudy in the future if he keeps working hard but will be a better offensive option. The future is very bright for the Jazz but we need to be patient with the process of all these players that are 26 (Lauri) and under

It might be a little higher in their primes defensively I’d wager Taylor > Royce and Walker
