This is crazy but true. They will avoid all compliments and downplay your accomplishments. I’ve experienced this before. If I up my weights in the gym the comment is ‘you could have done more’. They make comments that are supposedly a joke. It’s actually pitiful to see when a man is envious of a woman. I’m like, what the??? 😂

I know of one person in particular who speaks poorly of his girl but I know it’s because of him that she lacks self confidence. He is negative . Complains a lot and wants to see her gain weight. She probably doesn’t even know that being with him is her biggest downfall. Watch out for those men who say ‘you don’t need to do this or that. If it’s something to improve you, know that he is a downer and run from him quickly. He doesn’t want anyone looking at you.

I used to play acoustic guitar and sing and do open mikes. My boyfriend at the time worked in media. He was so jealous of the fact that I, too, can get in front of people with a mike like he did--but he just talked to a camera at his job while I sang in front of people. He wouldn't come to my shows, but he would go hear other women sing. Eventually, he was responsible for my performing guitar being destroyed. I hate him for that to this day. That guitar played like butter.

So much of this is right on the nose. In my social media days, I used to just say nice things to people or add to their jokes or like their stuff whenever. But there were so, so many people... most of them were men... Who were my friends or followers but they would only lurk. Once in a great while, one would pop up to make a one-word snarky answer to try and cut me down about whatever post I put up. I guess it bothered them that some people complimented my writing and told me that they would read a book if I wrote it. Or they'd read one of my more ethereal or cryptic posts and say "I don't comprehend what I just read, but I really like it". I guess the haters just couldn't stand it. Even guys who I had stood by for years, doing roadie work for them and attending their bands' shows encouragingly and all the rest. These dudes were radio silent to me on FB. Oh, but of course I showed up as one of their friends for anyone who wanted to look. And at the risk of seeming egotistical, I'm going to go ahead and say that that gave them a fair bit of cred. I haven't bothered using those platforms in many years, I go for the more text-based forum style stuff now. Oh, and audio video format, obv. When you say that these guys who refuse to admit that they're impressed by you are overthinking it... Lol. Isn't it just the damndest thing that they always accuse women of overthinking it or reading into it too deeply. NICE PROJECTION BRO. It's my personal policy that whenever I feel even a twinge of envy come up, I immediately compliment whoever I'm feeling it for. It dispels the feeling and everyone can feel good. :)

It’s fascinating how this randomly showed up on my timeline. I met this dude recently. Jst sum dude and I’d been wondering is this dude slightly jealous? Then boom this showed up. I went from you’re beautiful to one day suddenly whiles sitting in the passerby side of my car, went ‘when you guys are young, you’re so pretty but not as pretty when you get older.’ Funny, Ofcourse everybody age. Well, duh including yourself. I laughed and repeated it and with a smile and kept it moving. I think they start to feel insecure when they are not at your level and would try anything to bring down your confidence. Funny enough, if only they know the challenges we also faced with ourselves. Why must u thrive to make someone feel bad abt themselves jst to boost yourself up bc you are feeling bad about yourself? Funny u said cyber security because this guy swears his Nick name is ‘cyber’ bc he’s into cyber security. He gets upset over anything. Once even hanged up the phone randomly like oh okay. Weird

Eww. Recently, there was this guy at work that has seemed interested in me, but he always had some way of trying to make me feel small.... and its gross because he's 12 years older than me. He basically was never good at anything and im young and I just graduated with a computer science degree and i quickly received a promotion at work... because I'm talented and have a lot of experience. He's so jealous. Its like he's having a mid life crisis and decided to just get weird that he can't have me and he can't have what i have. Low effort guys that never do anything with their lives.
