Question, how can you sleep 8 hours a night if your baby is 2 weeks old, when they are supposed to eat every 2-3 hours??
@morganhanzimanolis4 жыл бұрын
I love the SNOO! It definitely helps keep your baby on their back. That’s why we chose to get it as well. We’ve been using the owlet since she first came home. When we transferred her to the SNOO, we realized that you can use the owlet sock still BUT it will only think your baby is moving if the motion of the SNOO is above level 1...so we never let it rock faster than that. I can’t believe that Louie may be crawling soon! That’s so exciting!

Glad it's working for you guys!! How many times a night Noki still wake up?
@morganhanzimanolis4 жыл бұрын
Familytale Vlogs She doesn’t really wake up during the night, we wake her up. She goes to bed at 7/8p, we wake her at 10:30p and then again at 3a and then she wakes up on her own between 5:45a-7a.

Familytale Vlogs How’s Louie doing throughout the night?
@FamilytaleVlogs4 жыл бұрын
He's all over the board... some nights he sleeps through, other nights he wakes every two hours. No idea why he's like that
@waltermckenziewilson4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this review. It made me very relieved that we didn’t pay the money for the Snoo. My baby had very similar amounts of wake ups as Louie. During the worst of it, I wondered if we would have gotten any better sleep with the Snoo, and it doesn’t look like it. She had bad gas pains starting around 3-4 months and woke up a lot the first month, but months 1-3 were great just in her normal bassinet. She’d sleep almost completely through the night. Our biggest struggle was getting her initially down to sleep. Some nights it’d take 45 minutes to actually get her to fall asleep for the night, did you also have that problem or did the Snoo make it easier?
@FamilytaleVlogs4 жыл бұрын
For about the first 4 months or so Louie had to be bounced on the yoga ball for him to go to sleep... usually it would take 15-20 minutes and he would be out and we would put him in the snoo at that point. Sounds like you didn't miss too much by not having it!

Thanks for reviewing the snoo. We considered it a lot for our foster baby who was drug exposed for the constant soothing but ended up sticking to our much cheaper Halo bassinet (which incidentally the side does lower on making it super nice to return a sleeping baby to). I'm really glad we ended up doing that too, because he grew so quickly that we had to transition him to his crib fairly early. So he only ended up using his bassinet for about 2 and a half to three months.

Holy Moly. $1395 for that?! I don’t even need to try it to say it’s a waste of money. I have 3 boys and they all used the arms reach co-sleeper. All of them slept at least 6 hour stretches by 6 weeks and by 5/6 months, they slept the full 12 hour night. Every baby is different, and I think there’s a lot to be said for having a routine. Babies really like to know what to expect. It makes them comfortable. I always obsessed over making the room the right temperature and what they were wearing. And I have a fan in the room. Helps move the air (stats for SIDS are in support of fans). Anyhoo...at the end of the day, what matters most is that all these beautiful babies are loved. Difficult spells pass, and what you end up with is a human being that you created....a piece of your heart that walks around this earth with you. The gadgets don’t matter. We all survived childhood without the latest technology. But if I can talk anyone out of an unnecessary expense for a baby that they will only use for 3 or 4 months, I’ll do it.
@FamilytaleVlogs4 жыл бұрын
Haha I hear you, but if you catch a sale and get it for 40% off then it's closer to $850, still a ton of money but since they sell for $700-800 used so it makes it a lot more reasonable. What temperature did you keep your house at for you kids?
@BH-el4rs4 жыл бұрын
I suppose that isn’t SO bad, especially if you have more babies and use it for them too. I always keep the thermostat at 68. I live in San Francisco, so we’re lucky to not usually get extremes. I always put a onesie on them and a sleep sack. What they were under that (footie pajamas, or only pants with the onesie) depends on the temp inside the room. Most of the time, they should be wearing what you’d be comfortable in. Nothing to stress about (I know that’s hard). This is your first pancake, after all. Lol. They get easier. Louis is precious.

Familytale Vlogs I too would love to see this along with anything else a new mom might need to know. I’m almost 28 weeks pregnant with my first and only child. I haven’t done or gone to any classes and probably won’t due to the stuff going on in this world. Also, I’m pretty sure our parents didn’t have to do any of that.

The major CON is they act like they for enviroment but they refuse to sell parts like motors that are known to fail, so if out of warranty from used or second baby and stops your out of luck
@isabelmoons7194 жыл бұрын
You guys are so funny! For your next baby you should try sleep training. Babies sleep through the night when they learn how to soothe themselves. It’s way harder in the beginning but worth it. My twins were sleeping through the night in their cribs at 3 months old. Try babywise might be outdated but it works well. With that being said babies are tough and you guys are doing great!
@FamilytaleVlogs4 жыл бұрын
Definitely will have to consider that the next time around haha

I’d like to see a video or you chatting about different phases of your baby so far. I think first time parents of a newborn can be short sighted and super sleep deprived so they think the first stages last forever, but it’s reassuring to hear that it does change and I would be interested to hear how it changes

The Halo Bassinest does have one side that collapses down (and springs back up when you're not pushing on it)! Which was nice for setting her down. But sleep spaces can't have sides that completely remove - they used to have cribs like that but now they're not allowed because too many babies got hurt. I always wonder about products like this because you can't ever know what the alternative reality where you didn't have it would be like. With my daughter, I know that even as a very young infant she would wake up in the night but put herself back to sleep multiple times - either because I observed it when she was in our room or I saw it on the monitor history when she was in her own. She started sleeping 7+ hour stretches from 1 month on. So maybe if she had been in a Snoo we would think it had gotten her back to sleep, and we wouldn't have known she'd be doing it anyway. That's my hesitation with buying something like this. Also the idea of having to wean from it seemed daunting, but it's great that it sounds like Louie did it naturally and easily!

Such a good point!! We’ll never know how he would’ve slept without it’s really tough to judge it!

Honestly, my peace of mind came with bed-sharing. I did it with all of my children.
@FamilytaleVlogs4 жыл бұрын
I could see that helping too, did you have issues trying to get them to sleep on their own though?
@monster93924 жыл бұрын
Familytale Vlogs It depends on your parenting style really. For me it’s not a big deal. I never had a schedule for my kids other than a bedtime and I tried the cry it out method but it wasn’t for us. Like any new thing it took a couple weeks for them to get used to sleeping in their own bed but they are only 15 months apart so we transitioned them together. I think that made it better. They stay in their beds for the most part but can wake up a few times in the night. Usually we sit by their bed until they fall back asleep, unless they had a bad dream then we bring them to our bed. They are 4 and 3. I do get tired of having an overly full bed, but I always remind myself that one day they won’t want to cuddle anymore or they won’t need you to make them feel safe. So I try my hardest to cherish the times I’m falling off the bed lol. Another thing that gave us an advantage was having our mattress on the floor. That way we could pure a toddler bed on watch side and didn’t have to worry about anyone falling out and getting hurt. No one ever stayed in the toddler beds but it let us have a bit more room. I tried to keep my last baby in a bed by herself but found that I was constantly getting up to check on her. So I gave up on that after a week. I have lied to so many people( including our pediatrician) about bed sharing because I used to immediately get bad responses. It’s good for some families and not a good idea for others.
