Something is definitely wrong with the hood vents because y 1970 Challenger RT 440 Magnum my hood scoops are full functional. My air breather has 2 inlets that face directly into the hood scoops that gives it forced air induction. If the hood s hoops are none functional that it was either the inline 6 or 318. The 340-6 Pack had 390 HP and 490 ft Lbs torque. That 440 got that 490 ft Lbs of torque at just 2800 RPMs instead of 4,000 RPMs like the 426 HEMI.

My brother had a yellow ‘74 Challenger with the Rallye package with black strobe stripe decals seemingly coming out of phony side air vents on each door. This sport appearance package included the bulging twin nostril hood. @katazack3 ай бұрын
@@SidneyRJames Lots of possibilities, but I imagine the late 1960s 426 Hemi would be the top choice for many. It came in several body styles from Dodge and Plymouth, including the Challenger and Cuda. The L-88 427 Chevys and Boss 429 Fords can make a good case, although technically the 429 Mustangs were pony cars and not muscle cars. The Pontiac GTO is generally considered to be the first muscle car, so it might get a mention even though it couldn't run with the Hemis.

My sister's first car was a 1971 Green Challenger. It was the first and only car we went over 100mph. My sister wanted to keep it. When she was deployed in the Navy her ex husband sold it for drugs. She was pissed. One good reason for my 2017 SRT392 was the retro look. Mine is Octane Red that looks like retro candy apple red with 20 inch Brass Monkeys. The plan is to keep it, even when gas is 10.99 a gallon when 45% are in Evs.

I love these classic car reviews.....this is the EXACT color I would get. My grandfather had a green base model 1970 Challenger back in the day. I wish I could afford one of these...but I could not, but I would not let my lack of funds stop me from getting a 1970 Dodge! So I looked into Darts...and even those were out of my price range, but if you look hard enough, you can still find some 4 door slant 6 Darts.....bulletproof reliability and no one wants the 4 doors, so you can get a great deal. I just got my 70 4 door blue Dart for 5000....it has the most powerful slant six offered at the time, the 225, and it is a factory A/C car. I do wish it had a manual transmission, but beggars can not be choosers! I am 29, this will be the oldest car I have ever owned...but back in 2017 I had a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix. This Dart also has no rust, the body is in amazing condition except for a dent in the roof. Also, P.S. we need to bring back these thick tires with small rims....looks SOOO much better!

Actually not bad at too tune once you get little experiance. Trick is to use a vacuum gauge for setting up the outer carbs.Center carb was your basic 2bbl mechanical holly.
