That car was a bad ass in its time. I never owned one, but I worked on and drove many as a Viper technician back then. No tech, no cushy comfort, no safety features, just pure performance. You have a poster, I still have a diecast. Such a great machine. Thanks, Joe. Nice review.

A fellow in London Ontario bought one (likely ordered without a test drive) when they first came out. Five minutes into his first drive from the dealership he PUNCHED it on a overpass and lost it over the side......he didn't get killed but the brand new Viper was totaled . Yep, no traction control. Great car/great video. Thanks Joe.

Awesome car and the HP and a 4.3 second (0-60) was very good for cars back in the 90's, no anti-skid brakes, no traction control, etc etc. The way a true sports car should be ! The one negative is (no door windows) makes it a fair weather car for blue bird days.

Hey Raiti I used to valet park at the time and I drove several vipers and I have two stories to tell I drove a red viper kinda quick up to 45-50 and down shifted into from 3rd into 2nd and it chirped backwards and I lost it and had to shut it down with a hard brake and slid a little sideways and stopped about 2 inches from a curb, (if it didn’t stop there was going to be rim damage) Then I drove it up slowly to the customer lol The 2nd is a viper and a 458 Ferrari were on a drag race and the viper when squatting , white smoke went on side exhaust and on 2nd just torched the Ferrari!

This was real true American muscle in the 90s ! This was the Dodge Challenger Hellcat for the 90s ! When you put a stage 3 cam in a Dodge Viper like this oh that baby will chop like a 70 Chevelle ! This was one of the baddest muscle cars ever made. But it would not handle on a track it was dangerous ! It was better in a straight line if you could get it to hook up .lol The only downfall of this car was it was way overpriced for what you were getting. It was nothing but a stripped-down muscle car with plastic interior. It was very cheaply thrown together and it rattled real bad on the inside. But they were a lot of fun with a stage 3 cam they would make people with a Chevelle or Shelby Cobra Mustang crap themselves because of the sound of the engine once it's been cammed with stage 3 cam !
