Hey Everyone! I am still trying to provide periodic updates on my 2.7l Silverado. It, for the most part is holding up great! Other than some paint issues I point out in this video the truck is still doing us great.
We call our truck "Silva" and use it to do our normal family truck stuff as well as haul our massive 9,000 lb travel trailer.
Thanks for watching my video! I really appreciate your time!

Nice review! I test drove the Silverado with the 2.7. Very quick off the line, quite responsive. I couldn’t wrap my head around pulling a travel trailer with a 4 cylinder turbo. As well as knowing that engine had just come out in the Silverado. Bought a Nissan Titan instead. The better warranty helped in that decision. No regrets, love the Titan. I’m happy the 2.7 has done well for you!! Seeing real world mpg #’s is reassuring. I do, however, love the sound of the 5.6L ! I pay for it at the pump though!!! I hit 21mpg once.

Very Nice! I have strongly considered a Titan XD in the past. I am going to be featuring the Titan 5.6l in a video soon. @@jeremsgarage It’s a shame the Titan and Titan XD are being discontinued. The 5.6 is a time tested engine. The 4.0 was as well. I can honestly say that, as I had a 2018 frontier. From what I understand, the 4.0’s replacement is doing good. I look forward to the video!

Definitely built the new filter for more oil flow. More & larger oil inlet holes - due to the Cheezy paper media. I will stay with the Purolator PL11424 PureOne & A-Premium (Metal Core) & synthetic media EOF10351-C from Amazon - Totally Sealed & wrapped box = very high quality filter. Did notice @ 55-70mph oil psi running pretty consistently around 30psi. (When oil temp is between 195-210*F)

My old 17 2.7 Ecoboost ran what I thought was warm too, guess these new Turbo engines just run hotter both engine and transmission. On my 23 2.7 ecoboost I got the from PPF it’s like a plastic film covering the front of truck, think it really helps with chips. You do a great job on your videos always enjoy them. Try Pennzoil Platinum, I think a warm as our trucks run might not be a bad ideal!

@jeremsgarage
@jeremsgarage 27 күн бұрын
Hi, Yes it did! It was a really simple failure of a fuel injector. The problem was that I was so far from home. The injectors are simple enough and cheap enough that, had it happened at home, I would have just fixed it at the house. But, being 500 miles away and the parts being on back order, that is what happened there. Do I recommend this truck? Yes, 100% yes. I think that the three most reliable engines in half tons right now are the 2.7l GM, 5.6l Nissan, the 5.0l V8 from Ford, the two EcoBoost engines from Ford seem pretty good too. I wouldn’t touch any of the Ram’s right now. Hey, this sounds like a good video topic. Thanks for the idea. Have a great day.

Me too. Not into little, forced air, hot running, high rpm, engines trying to be truck engines. They make it sound good with “peak torque” numbers which practically redlines these little things. @@GLOCKCOPG23 lol. Yea almost nothing you just said applies to this 2.7l. It makes ALL its tq and HP under 2,000 RPM. It does not need to redline to make power. You have this confused with a V8. Even the Ford Ecoboost (which has been around since 2011) makes its power way down low in the RPM range. I pull a 9k lb trailer at 65-70 MPH at about 1,800 rpm or so. How is that for redline? 😅

Forgot to add, there was one issue with a sensor on a rear brake but was fixed at around 190k.

Trans fluid temp should only be 150-180 no load and shouldnt be much past 190-195 towing. Alot of these newer vehicles run hotter but they should be good since they have "lifetime fluid".😂

These run 190-200⁰ all the time. Has since new. I've changed the fluid and filter once and about to do it again. Runs great. 👍

I have a 2019 2.7 I bought brand new, needed a head gasket at 50k and just got a new trans at 78k…. If you buy any of these new vehicles now and are going to run past the warranty, the extended warranty is a must have… the 8L90 to buy new is just shy of 7k… the 2900 I paid for the extended warranty saved the day there…

Back in the 80’s and 90’s if your car or truck made it to 400k miles with just basic and proper maintenance, your good. Today if you made it to 50k without any issues and recall letter your doing good.

Yes it did. That's why I included it. I'm trying for full lifetime testing of this truck. Next oil change I'm going to prefill the oil filter and see if that makes any difference.

You know small displacement V8's exist, right? For modern context, the Coyote has 3.63"x 3.65" bore and stroke in contrast to the 2.7's 3.63"x4.01".

I just can't imagine paying that much for a 4 CYLINDER full size truck! GM fanboys would buy any crap GM releases. Also, why can't GM do better with things like the instrument cluster!? It's so cheap looking!

LOL. I saw a Ram in its natural habitat today. It was on a trailer being towed by a Chevy. 🤣. Fords Natural habitat is the side of the road with the hood up. 😆 Just teasing they are all hot garbage at times.

Except when it comes to being able to work on them, spark plugs flying out , stooooopid corner cutting that has caused innumerable problems in Fords for many years, I WONT EVEN GET STARTED ON THE NIGHTMARES THAT HAVE COST DEISAL OWNERS LITERALLY BILLIONS OF DOLLARS

Better than the rolling dumpster fires Ford is selling these days. Especially that "Powerboost" with the leaking plastic box attached to the exhaust and that oil burning 5.0 that's dropping valves left and right.
