One must wonder what goes through the executives and car designers minds when it comes to adding features or not adding features. 50 grand for a truck. Lets charge people that much but not give them HID or LED headlights and have them fend for themselves on a dark highway with some 1990's headlights. Let's for some reason offer them a wireless charger but not even offer smart key access system. Boggles the mind as to why they do things the way they do. Just give features that are standard on a friggin Corolla now.

Good review. I chose the ZR2 for the lockers and affordability. Toyota would not budge on the price and I thought the Gladiator was overpriced to start with. Plus the ZR2 is off road ready off the showroom. The Pro needs new tires right out the door. So far I have been impressed with the ZR2’s capability. I have been able to roll with the stock Jeeps on the trails no problems. I have yet to encounter a Gladiator on the trails but hopefully soon. Went to go look at this truck this passed weekend and they didn’t have 1 on the lot to show me but told me they would get. They offered a 0 down lease for 600/mo - 10k miles/year. I quickly left soon after hearing those numbers but am/was still considering this truck as when I saw it for the first time on the road the other day, I felt like I did when I first saw Marty McFly set eyes on the all black truck from the 1st BTTF. This has given me a lot to think about, not having the push button start is not a deal breaker but it is sad, as is the half power/half manual seats. Would love to hear from actual owners about their experiences and testimonies.
@americancitizen18853 жыл бұрын
Hahaha man I thought the same thing about this reminding me of the Marty’s dream pickup truck from Back To The Future l. I live the way this 2021 version looks. I’ve been offered a new one 2021 for $43K. It’s still a little overpriced in my opinion at that price. More like a $35K small truck max. But everything went up. I still like it a lot. I would love to have one but the $43K price is holding me back. Especially since I don’t really need this pickup truck for its functionality, only for its looks. Considering I can get into a brand new 2021 GMC Acadia for around $26K and save around $16K. Damn decisions.
@fasted58224 жыл бұрын
Dusk and midnight editions are an over $3K option. GMP exhaust is over $1200. That is why the $48K. Factory rebates are on now for over $4K on select trucks. Factory bed lighting kit is an option. There's a factory pigtail behind the LR tail light.

Hi Joe, Thank you for doing this I was considering this truck and your review made the decision easy. I think at 48K a person would have to be willing to ignore that they are not getting their moneys worth. The Ranger Lariat is guilty of the same issue, too many things missing for the kind of money they are asking. I guess the auto companies know their markets. Just compare what a full size truck offers to what these overpriced mid size trucks offer. Then there is the Honda Ridgeline that has lots of extras but isn't a truck in the sense that the ZR 2 is a truck. Thanks again

interior is stuck in the late 90's. Thank god for the touch screen at least

I'm afraid I'm going to have to zonk you. You're nit picking about silly things. This truck is built for Raptor levels of performance at a much lower price point. Besides you should love this truck, it has a black roof after all.

To me the exterior looks something from early 2000s

Another epic review Joe!!! Colorado looks sinister blacked out!!! 👍🏼🤨🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨 Every single zonk is absolutely warranted. It's not a bad truck, but at this price point the details matter. If something looks like a vent...let it be a real vent. 🤦🏽♀️Soften up the interior materials even just a bit and throw in the new infotainment/ digital gauge system. Give this lil beast some more horsepower please Chevy😬😬😬Keep up the great work Joe!!! 👍🏼

The truck is a good truck as a family not like a heavy duty truck. It basically like a fashion truck

Cool but interior looks outdated, and price should be below 40 not 48 :(

I'd prefer the Tacoma to be honest but the ZR2 doesn't seem that bad
