I just bought a 2020 CX-5 Touring "Preferred" which throws in the 10 speaker Bose, the electric liftgate and the moon roof. I was initially going to get a Honda CRV for its practicality and extra room, but after getting in this car and test driving it I immediately feel in love with it. The interior is gorgeous with incredibly comfortable seats. The Bose sound system is fantastic. And it's super fun to drive. This CX-5 will put a smile on your face, guaranteed.

We have a 2018 CX-5 with the cylinder deactivation to save fuel. There was a recall for a software update, because some had the valvetrain get mislocated and stuck, so the engine stalled and would not restart. Hopefully they have this solved now. The CR-V and RAV-4 have more room inside and the new Escape is faster. We bought a 2013, 2015 and 2018 CX-5 for how they steer, look and the price, also they have good ratings for crash testing, and by Consumer Reports and Car & Driver surveys and tests for people that drive a lot more and in more vehicles than me. We found they look better if you add Turtle Wax Trim Restorer to the outer plastic because it fades to an uglier dull gray color. They are comfortable for long trips, however someone taller than 5 feet 11 inches might not have enough driver seat adjustment.

Just rented an AWD for a road trip. Love the car. things to improve: more cargo space. It was one of the biggest limitations I had with the car. Had a full car for a Tahoe trip and the storage got limited really fast. Add maybe 2 more inches of leg room in the rear the volume knob near the center arm rest is quite tucked in for people with longer arms and is kind of hard to adjust. I feel like Salt bae when trying to adjust it. The rear backup camera quality is terrible. It's like 240p Move the rear charging ports and heated seats from the rear arm rest to the center console knee area. Cannot be accessed when 3 passengers in back. Put the blind spot orange lights on the inside of the cabin rather than on the mirrors. Change the keyless entry from the button on the door handle to unlocking by placing the hand behind the handle Redesign the key fob (it looks like Nissan's which isn't a good thing) and consider adding remote start. Offer a button to turn off infotainment screen to reduce eye strain at night. Lastly, ADD A BIGGER GAS TANK!! I get like 320 mile range which is not good. My Accord gets like 480. And the notification for low fuel turns on with only like 25 miles left which is really low. That said, awesome mpg even with AWD. Averaged like 29mpg while driving 80mph Sufficient power with the 186hp. Nothing mind-blowing but gets the job done. Really sleek vehicle Love the seatbelt notification of the backseats Driving Dynamics are nice for a CUV

@souls30294 жыл бұрын
Striker 50 am guessing you didnt read my comment, the cx5 is a great vehicle as is everything you mention will compromise what makes the cx5 a already great vehicle, bigger fuel thank means more weight that will decrease the handling characteristics, lengthening the vehicle for more interior room will compromise the sporty look as i said before this is not the vehicle for you, its either you look to a cx9 or another manufacturer
@Striker50_4 жыл бұрын
@@souls3029 of course it won't? If it's made 4 inches longer, it can be made 1-2 inches wider and 1 inch taller. Proportionally it can be made the same while still having more room. Back in 2015, I was looking for a new car and my options were cx-5, rav4, and crv. I picked the crv at that time after test drive all of them. From my unbiased opinion all 3 cars are wonderful. Cx-5 is more sporty suv. It was a blast to drive for an suv. It felt like a hatchback. The seat was a bit harsh and a bit loud for wind noise. The rav4 didn't have the cvt and used traditional automatic as I remember and it was great car. Great space, but horrible dash layout. Like the fake carbon fiber trim. Wind noise was less than the cx5 and the reliability is not a question for rav4. Crv is a great overall. Trunk is so spacious, rear seat is more comfortable than the other 2. Wind noise is better. Soaks up bumps. One thing is the cvt can be noisy. Only if you push it though. I bought my 2015 crv brand new (almost fully loaded) and gave it to my mom 6 months ago with only 33k miles. She loves everything about the car. Especially, I added a focal kx2 speakers, subwoofer, audio control 6 channel amps along with processor. It's a party on wheels.

Someone I know went through a hell of a time with her Hyundai infotainment system being in the dash. It had to be replaced due to a malfunction, and the dealership marked up her dash replacing it due to the way it was more permanently integrated. Love everything about the CX5 except for a couple of things. Not a fan of the rotary knob infotainment system (when in drive the touchscreen is disabled). I wish they would've put the rear USB ports underneath the rear A/C vents for easier access. If you have 3 passengers in the back and need to use the ports, you just can't.

Don’t get the CRV. I just got one and very disappointed. It feels like I am driving a car. Very low. I will test drive the Mazda and I like will trade for Mazda. My son has the Rav 4 2020 . Really nice SUV . I been driving his Rav until I trade in mine.

can't beat a nice Stone Leather interior of a CX-5, but Machine Grey was my fav, pity the engine power in most regions is limited to a 2.0L NA engine, with little torque/ability to overtake. good to see the US/CAN get a 2.5L option. Wish Mazda would get their finger out and give it a Skyactiv X engine for 2021. Nice looking wheel cladding, better than the Mr Magoo designer that put the CX-30 together!

After seeing this I’m even happier I made the decision of getting the 2020 Sport GT model over any other lmao you get a whole lot of bank for your buck considering everything is included as well as an extra 100 hp and 17 pounds of boost, with the beautiful spool and rumble sounds of a car with power. Also, gas consumption is manageable and practical, it consumes less gas than my previous CX-7 so long as I’m not hitting boost every two seconds.

The only thing annoying is the cup holders. I have a Cx5 Grand Touring. I think the cup holders should be forward of you and not where it is. It's very inconvenient placing.

Looks like the door jam is on you. Your shoulders are past the rear jam. The part that divides the doors in the middle of the vehicle is not positioned right. The rear space is why they off set that center part instead of just adding that few inches to the length of the vehicle. Big lip on the bumper a bummer too as well as lower fog lights and air vents for breaks. Also nees guards at the wheel base and around the underside. Like the interior door design and seats. Needs cross bars and or running boards.
@guitarexpert22454 жыл бұрын
Mazda's seem to be a little sportier than it's competition and the interiors seem a little more cramped. They sell less than half of what Honda CRV/Toyota Rav 4 does. I think there just as good but it's just a smaller company. Good review.

Zonking the look of this vehicle. The CX-5 looks like a hatchback that ate too many doughnuts 🍩. The $29k price can make people forget the fat hatchback look. White is probably my least favorite color for a car so that didn’t help. Also I prefer cloth to leatherette. With all that negativity out of the way, this is another outstanding video by the guy who’s the best. Keep’em coming Joe but don’t work yourself to death.

@@RaitisRides It will be a long time before I have a new for me ride. I am actively looking for a preowned 3 row suv for the wife though, unless we go with another mini van.
