The Mazda CX-5 is fun to drive.....paddle shifters....what like maybe 1 second faster and 20 more hp then the other two... Come on, it's a utility vehicle. We are talking about crossover suv's. If you are the type to try and drive a crossover like it's a sports car, your a D-bag. Or at least you're going to look like one. This review needs a review!

Been loving my CX5, it really is a wonderful car. The way it handles long bends and sharp turns, it's actually better than most mainstream sedans and is akin to, dare I say it - MX5. Considering the size of the car, the fact that it can just dart into long bends and kinda begs you to floor it out of the corner while keeping its composure, that's just fun.

@@Horus4387 new sonata looks gorgeous inside-out, not sure, but I think I saw it in person. For the rest - of course I mean all line like qx80, q70 etc., not only glc (hate it), Sportage, Santa Fe and previous gens of sonata. And that's my point - in overall Mazda has nothing special in design, for 6 it's well outdated. Actually 3 looks the same as previous gen, and cx5 is a little bit different in front (situation was the same with old Outlander, changed grille, headlights and called a new gen, XL, but basically it was the same model). Actually I think the issue with Mazda is lack of money, they can't afford to change model line every 4 years and create a variety of models for every request. Not complaining, but for new it's matter of fact, they have a very narrow segment where they can't compete with major brands like VW (Tiguan), BMW (x3), Honda (CR-V), Toyota (RAV4) and, I think, even Ford has better chances with new Escape which is all-new). And I need to note that Ford looks very good IRL.

Some looking for a SUV would consider that a negative CX5 A little too snug inside Not high enough ( way too low to the ground) The Honda with recall issues due to the turbo and the gearshift no thanks The RAV4 Limited has the same drivetrain as the TRD addition with all the luxury Video rearview mirror Birdseye 360 camera Heated and ventilated seats Roomy inside great size but not too big it’s the clear winner if you’re looking for a SUV If you’re looking for a sedan go with the all new all-wheel-drive Camry Nissan Maxima Or whatever that CX5 is just a taller version of but it not an SUV

The CX-5 is very compelling (for the segment). Have been considering getting one but the competitor hybrids are so much more fuel efficient at around 6L/100km. That is a massive savings in fuel costs. For "value", the Rav4 will likely have the best resale and reliability, but just get the hybrid. It's only a few grand more and has more power. The improved fuel economy alone will pay for the difference in a few years. The hybrid transmission is also reported to be more reliable than the non-hybrid.

My 2015 crv ex would get close to 40mpg hwy with the 2.4 and the cvt. And the cvt feels like a regular automatic and super responsive. It only feels like a cvt when you floor it. Also it was pretty fast for a 4 cylinder. I thought it was a great car. No offense but I hate when the people reviewing these types of cars complain about everything and say they'renot powerful! Compared to what? A mustang gt??? Love your reviews but you suck at reviewing regular cars. And btw I am a car guy. I've had plenty of 4x4 v8 trucks, two mustang gts. Camaro z28. And many more, I've owned over 40 cars and quite a few motorcycles and i can definitely say, there is nothing wrong with a cvt in a crossover.

Mazda spent decades under ford so I won't touch it. Honda used to be a marvel of quality and dependability but after the Old Man died (1999?), it's been circling the drain. I was personally screwed by it, and will never touch it again. So far, Toyota is the only company I trust but even so, I do everything in my power to buy one made in Japan.

This video really helped me when I was looking for a new car! I was looking at all 3 of the cars in the video and ended up going with the Mazda after test driving all of them! I felt that the RAV4 and CX5 felt pretty comparable when driving and felt great right away. The CRV was really familiar and overall pretty solid too. I went with the CX5 because I really liked the luxury look and feel of the car in comparison to the RAV4.

Why this review is looking not like a review for these vehicles , it is more like a sports line car review , gave so much attention to sports factor, if im going to a 200km distance i will cruise at 100km/h in all of these vehicles and within 2 hours i will be there, which is giving more comfort, rooms, mileage in that space of time are only matter. Come on man 😂 what are these throttle response, sharp steering , CVT , paddles who cares in these vehicles

Traded my my 17 CX-5, and 19 Fusion in. Test drove the the 22 CX-5, Rav-4, & the CR-V. I went with the CR-V. Liked the CR-Vs over the other 2 by far. But everyone is going to have their own needs and that is ultimately how people are going to have to decide. This is a good side by side video. Been in automotive as a tech since 1995, and my dealership is a Ford and Mazda dealer. I will say the 1.5 turbo CR-V has a lot more passing power than the 1.5 turbo Fusion, but the Mazda does out power the Honda. Steering in the Honda is by far better than the Mazda. Taking corners is a much smoother experience.

Poor review. Totally subjective towards performance. These aren't cars. Their purpose is utility. I've driven plenty of vehicles with CVTs and the newer ones are just fine unless you turn off the radio an accelerate from light to light. The Honda based on real people I know that drive the CRV average 28 mpg with the new RAV4 being close to the same mileage and both get over 30 mpg on the highway. The Madza is a fine vehicle but it's storage capacity with seats down is around 60 cubic ft. The Honda has 75 and the RAV4 just under 70. So, I find the comparison to be short sided and incomplete.
