The Seltos is a subcompact SUV from Kia. On the outside of the 2022 SX trim you will find LED headlights, unique front bumper, optional wheels, and specific rear bumper. On the inside you will be greeted by a 10.25in infotainment screen, tons of passenger space, and soft touch finishes. Mine is a 2021, also blue SX but with the sunroof. Love it. Also have a 2021 K5. Remember, the 250hp in the Mazda is with premium gas; about 25 less with regular, which the SX uses.

I honestly think this car is the king of this category. It offers enough power to be fun to drive and very practical. Not to mention these cool new trims that have come out recently. I think the crown will stay with Seltos unless the competition does something different.

I just recently bought wife a 2022 seltos sx comes with the sunroof and you can also remove the back tray behind seats if need to.Also seen in another video you can drop that back floor piece down where your spare is at for more height room if needed

In truth, for a vehicle weighing ~ 3200 lbs., AWD, with a 1.6T engine rated at 175 HP; it's more than sufficient power for normal everyday driving. Moreover, merging onto interstates would pose no problem at all. Beyond the aforesaid points: a Bose system, great cargo space, leather seats and a 5-year warranty - all for $ 29.6K. It would be very hard for an astute consumer not to consider this vehicle.

Great review Joe! Interesting that in Canada, the Seltos SX turbo gets heated/ventilated seats and a head up display, but here in the States Kia only offers heated seats on the SX.

Just bought a 2023 Kia Seltos SX (Gravity Grey), which is like the 2022. My wife and I love our Seltos. A couple of things about the review that I would like to mention. I drove a Mazda and found the Kia infotainment center much more robust. The navigation was much better than what I found in the Mazda, which couldn't find a number of addresses I searched for. Also, the rear seats recline one step (about 1 1/2 inch to 2 inches). You can also lower the rear seats from the rear doors instead of through the cargo area. The floor of the cargo area also comes out and allows you to lower it by about 2 inches, giving you more storage space. I also liked the dash graphics better in the Kia over a lot of the vehicles I looked at. Much more modern. The 2023 does have the option for the sun roof at an additional $700.00. All-in-all, we paid just over $33,000.00 for our Seltos SX after shipping, taxes, licensing, and dealer fees. Again, we love our Seltos and I'm considering trading in my pickup truck for another one in the next couple of years. Thanks.

Leased a seltos in 2020 for my 16 year old as payments were only 187 a month with nothing down except first payment, tax and title. Been a great Awd vehicle for him.

I think the Seltos is a good buy in that price range. It's got good tech features, fuel range, internal space, and enough power to get you where you need to go, unless you intend to drag race daily.

However, it did have a regular sized sunroof AND a pop up, combiner type HUD. Really wish those features made it to the US version. Zonk, zonk...

What’s funny is that I think the top trim in Canada comes with ventilated seats (I was looking at some videos on this car from Canada and saw the feature) and the US market can’t. Living in texas I wish we could have it.

I don't know why... Both Korean and Canadian version gets them, don't know about Indian market for the Seltos where it was big at first, but...

Wifey and I took one out for a drive last year. We'd whittled our choices for her new ride down to the Seltos or the CR-V. I really liked the Seltos' ride, room, and styling. She, however, just wouldn't go for the Neptune Blue. Believe it or not, she like the CR-V's Sonic Gray Pearl the best. Plus, the CR-V is a bit roomier. For me, though, I'd love a Seltos.

Oh, and btw, I may be late on the convenience feature of modern cars, since my old Pontiac didn't have it, I find the center armrest that you can move forward and back to be very comfortable. No reviewers really cover on that, since I guess most of the new cars have it these days, so it maybe an old feature now, but it came with my EX, so, another feature I love about my car... Though it doesn't have the sun-visor extension plastic that my wife's 2013 sorento has, but usual, simple extendable visor itself of the Seltos is good enough for me... Hopefully, Seltos does NOT become electric for a while. I am so happy with my purchase, and it's the last car I want to see it become electrified... To me, cars are NOT cars without engines... I LOVE to hear the engine note, not some lame batteries that makes them APPLIANCES... I am one of the very few minors who ABSOLUTELY HATES all electric cars... You may all hate me for saying that, and say something like, you have to think about environment, and it will all change to electric anyway, but I am really not a fan of that trend...

I was going for the SX, but they told me to wait 6 months for it, so I have settled for an EX, and saved myself around $2,000, though I had to give up on some of the features like mood lighting, bose stereo, Cargo Door Cover, and a few more, but I would like to point out some errors that Joe mentioned... Though I am picky here... Only the SX comes with the LED headlight and LED fog lights. Anything below, it comes with halogen headlights and projector beam fog lights. Also, sunroof is a $700 option on the SX, although it comes standard on an EX(so if you have a fully loaded SX with every option in the book, sunroof should be included in it, unless you are buying two tone paint). I love my 2022 seltos EX(I bought it in snow white pearl), and since I am no street racer, nor care for much for power,(though I DID have a larger car, an aging 2008 Grand Prix V6, which is a much larger engine, but I wanted to go with something smaller this time) I am happy with my purchase... and as a very few, old fashioned guy who ABSOLUTELY HATES electric cars, I am happy with my purchase before everything turns electric. Just something I have noticed while watching the vid, but as always, great vid...

i just looked at one of these today in canada, i really enjoyed the vehicle but the price they gave me all in for the sx turbo taxes and fee's all in was 45k canadian which is about 37k usd. seems pretty steep to me but also i have to order mine in and wait 4 months. im really on the fence about this one.

I have the 2021 kia Seltos sx. Absolutely hate the sounds of nature feature, it defaults to it whenever you unplug your device. I bought mine fully loaded, power moon roof, ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, 8 way power seats for driver and passenger, and heated rear seats. it seems like the sx features really differ from country to country.

I own a 2021 SX model and it's been great so far. I agree that the SX should have a standard sunroof when the EX has one. You actually lose the feature moving up a trim level and have to pay extra to add it back in

Hi Joe, I test drove the Seltos today. The SX, which they said was the “top trim”. As you aptly pointed out, a lot of hard plastic inside. Seemed cheap looking. And What the heck, NO SUNROOF???? The dealer offered to have one put in ‘aftermarket’….yeah sure! This is a major ZONK. Makes the fake exhaust outlets in the back look like baby zonks, not “zonk squared”. But my biggest Z was the driving experience. That DCT is just jerky when going on throttle…..just like the VW Taos, that I drove yesterday. No thanks to these 2 cars. I am whittling down the choices, which all seem to be pushing me back to the Mazda! 5? 30? Or 50? Another tough decision. In the meantime, will keep watching your reviews! Thanks as always!

The SX models that include the sunroof package have a sunroof. It’s kind of like when you buy a car with automatic high beams and it subsequently comes with automatic high beams. The Seltos has hard plastic where 95% of cars have hard plastic. When it comes down to it though, you likely wouldn’t be spending much of your time lounging yourself across the dashboard.

Don't need to have the SX trim. But God, do I want this car ONLY in this Neptune Blue color. So attractive, yet not so gaudy. The Mazda CX-30 is certainly nice, very nice, on the inside. But for exterior, I give it to the Kia. And thus I gotta choose the Kia because it's still nice (just not as nice, on the inside) while having a better exterior.

I want to like this car. Considered upgrading my 2015 kia soul to it but it's just not really an upgrade IMO-- the rims look horrible, not into the chrome door handles and only a slight increase in power. I would rather wait for the sportage refresh

I went to see Kia SX turbo and now dealers have added 3k as markup on top of MSRP which makes the MSRP to around 33k and I think this is now making it overpriced. Also they should have added atleast a monroof on top model

How do they call this a top trim with no sunroof, no dual climate and no full digital dash? Kia has access to the same tech as Hyundai, and their top trims have full digital and sunroofs. I test drove one of the 2021 Seltos models and was disappointed. Very put off by all the cheap plastic inside and rough, stiff ride. Joe finds it smooth, maybe this one is improved. I found mine super noisy on the road and I felt like I was driving a truck at all times. Really like the attractive exterior, but this could be way better executed overall, especially for a top-level trim. Joe sounds a little underwhelmed, but he's always a gentleman and gracious, so hard to tell for sure. 😊
